  1. I must agree Sword Weaver is still very powerfull.... to powerfull? a normal Ele and\or Tempest cant compare.
  2. Forgot i was in a WvW thread xD I was really thinking on fractals or pvp sorry
  3. Everyone will agree the game is unbalanced. I do debate that the Tankiness as a whole is the issue, cause as a Tempest I never felt it on my part. A squishy class is still squishy if you power against it. And broken Skills will still hit you with 9k damage taking in 1 hit more than half of your health. Is there more room for survivability? Maybe, I think that was one of the goals of this, but healing also decreased so either the foe really escaped for good or it will end up dead anyway.I never played other class besides the squishy ele\tempest so i cant speak from the other point of view. That's why I stated that maybe your class is a broken one (might be a poor choice of words but i'm actually agreeing with you partially), cause I'm pretty sure some classes can Tank like you stated (I cant kill anyone anyway, I'm usually spec-ed for healing\protection). I just disagreed that all classes are Tanky now. And I also disagree that having a Tempest in the other Team made that much of the difference.
  4. Yea it's mainly for small scale.Should probably have included it in my title, my bad. WET is extremely strong for Auramancing since yu can simply spread the Auras and give alot of Protection to a small group with a little trait alteration. That's what I used to do a few months ago, but I felt so weak compared to FB. Since the last 2 patches cutting so much on Concentration 2 times in a row, it became even worst, I'm not auramancing Water-Earth support anymore. And now in the last patch healing took a big hit, I cant even heal anymore.Healing skills now are so weak that arcdps says that most of the heal comes from regen boons, lol.I'm slowly changing to Fire occasionally and\or stopping to play at all... just login once in awhile to run around like a newb, using a build I'm not comfortable, and talk to guildies.
  5. If weaver is a problem why not target weavers\fire specs, why would core and tempests have to suffer? We already heal 50% with the current nerf.
  6. OP probably plays a broken class then complains noone can kill him, even complains "the other team had healer tempest"... yes, agree. Why not down-grade your class into tempest levels? should do the trick. If that Tempest managed not to get killed, gg hats of to him.
  7. Captain? I need more details on this, what do you love exactly? Since most of the changes are targeted at reducing Healing, I need to know what is the part you love.
  8. Now that heal was cut short, the spec is almost unnoticeable, having it chosen or not makes almost no difference. When you read traits of other classes you instantly see how much Ele is flocked up, honestly i don't play other classes, but when i start reading them makes me wonder why they seems so powerful compared to ours. And then they get 9k single hit Maul + Two-Handed_Training in spvp and you just go "ye, that's normal... but not for us".
  9. Short answer, don't, its a lost war. gw2 meta is power builds.... just accept it.
  10. Meme idea... Golum with a tempest sign in the forehead holding to an aura icon: "my precious"
  11. I identify as an Elephant.Truth is, no one can even spot the Elephant with such a big change.I think that, we just all hope that the result of these changes is going to be to simply lower all classes equally, without creating any new unbalances.Lowering the baseline performance. And hopefully every class will stay similar as before when compared to each other. Simply creating a new baseline performance. And with that, they can hand-pick what should be raised with this new baseline. Or even create new things? But as always, we never know what they think, anything we try to decipher, is always lost in translation... and on next patches they prove us wrong. I totally agree that Elementalist has never been so weak in the history of this game and on top of the weakness chart is Tempest, its currently a non-pvp class at this point. When I was a teen and playing gw I used to dream that the dummy island was constantly being used by bots from anet to auto-test skills and balancing. So that when they tweeked a skill that created too much damage or too low something, those bots would automatically trigger an alert. But hey... on gw2 that island is so messed up, cant imagine automatic tests there, and ele class has always been unbalanced. So my dreams got crushed in 2012 xD Any way, back on topic, I just really hope and pray they notice how weak some classes are now after this update.
  12. The Trait that was removed from the game should have a suitable replacement for Supports. The remaining Support Tempest trait available that is most promising is really weak and cant do its job properly. So not promising at all. All i use was affected by the update, cause all my build had to change. You can’t really be full heal ele in spvp. It’s not like WvW where you can have nearly double the healing mods, double the healing power, and double the amount of allies you can heal. So ya for you also shouldn’t be running full shouts either. Tbh it’s your build here that’s not optimized for the game mode. You need magnet shield, mist form, and prob teleport cantrap. You’d also need to lose earth and go arcane so you can run staff for double geyser Rez, which is where you’ll really shine as a support in spvp. You can also opt to go air instead to spam air overloads. All you need is intelligence sigil so that when you use air overload it’s instantly off cd no matter what u do. That way you can provide more lightning auras for allies. Anyway ya pure heal ele is best in WvW where you can actually attain the stats to accomplish it. Spvp small scale it just doesn’t scale well enough, you need to go support hybrid. Then I've done my job, proving "be full heal ele in spvp" give sh*t heal amounts. Its proven an Ele can only be one thing to be good, and that's the very definition of #meta
  13. So I got a chance to test this today :) First i wanted to mention this in the release notes: I laughed while reading that, almost felt like she was talking about us here. Trying to justify something. So, Imbued Melodies is gone, my build lost 180 concentration and i had one less aura, so i felt the need to move to Elemental Bastion, less protection, more heal. And with "Heal on Aura apply" i also needed more auras. And therefore in that regard i went into a full heal build. Let me state that Elemental Bastion does not heal 1200 hp like i previously said, that was pve armor stats talking, in PVP is maxed at 1100 hp.I went fully heal, Rune of the Monk + Mender Amulet. Resulting in 1225 Healing Power. And to max the "Heal on Aura apply" from the Elemental Bastion, and maxing out the Aura potential, i went with the following Traits: Allowing me to share with all the party the Auras generated on successful Overload + Healing from the Trait + Protection (whatever is left of it) + Regen. Also to achieve the max number of Auras in my skills I went with Dagger / Dagger for the Frost Aura in water + Shocking Aura in Air.All this resulted in "some" amount of healing: I am definitely no longer a "protector" monk:Small protection duration is really small now, previously I had Max Concentration + Boon duration Rune. Now I am definitely an healer. But like i said, PVP has High Damage.Dead Eyes are quite annoying: And there are way too many OP skills: But Tempests just have to git gud, unlike OP classes. So conclusion, ill stay off gw for a bit. Healing was pretty mediocre and I felt like a punching bag. When i was a protector mitigating 40% of damage was amazing (40% of a 8k hit is like 3K), reflecting arrow/shots, etc. Since I'm sharing my findings about the new "unbalance" patch, I'd like to say that the bug from 2012 where when you use "vapor form" (elementalist downed skill) is still bugged (the "death report" is cleared) not showing what killed you:But like i said, its been like that since 2012, so why do I even care. This was possible before the current patch (pre-1-Oct-2019 patch) with a Support Tempest:
  14. Comparing two traits doesn't help cause you have to look at the whole build in general. As a support tempest, EB has better synergy. You say you play pvp. Are you using warhorn in Pvp?.... If the answer is no, then don't take Imbued melodies anyway. If you do use warhorn, then there's no point in my trying to explain anything further. If you're looking for projectile hate, there's much easier ways to get it than traiting a grandmaster for it. Any other way to get 300 Concentration? There's never enough Concentration and Auras for a support tempest in pvp.
  15. Seeing that gw2 has such a low amount of skill choices compared to gw1 is hard to see someone with a different build than you.Do you mean that anyone not using the meta is a Donkey, is that what you mean?Just because someone actually tries the things and not follows a crappy online build guide for sheep to follow like most do, should automatically award an award and a title to that person.
  16. It's -40% damage reduction vs 10%, not 0.Did you miss reading the "Aura" comparisson line? And if any amount of concentration scales mega well with those two traits (although scaling with Powerful Aura is questionable), so does using Elemental Bastion. Soothing Ice provides additional healing and Powerful Aura allows you to also heal allies.Thats exatly why losing that 180 Concentration is bad, thanks for giving me reason here. But Elemental Bastion giving 1200 heal (every 30 secs) compared to being constantly nuked by 2k damage and 7K crits is really nothing, and can totally be ignored. It is so useless for that amount of heal. Why would you even use it if not for the heal??At least the Imbued Melodies with 40% protection + Projectile reflection can mitigate a lot of damage! And actually do damage! With all the concentration and the right traits you can get that 40% protection to stay on for 11 secs, this makes that 4secs 10% Frost Aura seem like a joke. And you can still see deadeyes 1shot themselves to death, you just have to provide magnetic aura yourself instead of having a trait do so. After all, Imbued Melodies is not the only source for magnetic aura. That's the main point of the trait, just because you ignore the trait doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Looking at your other posts in his thread, it feels like you're overreacting. These changes will neither kill Tempest or dramatically change it.Seeing someone protect the Traits they use is expected. Can't disagree with you, but anet telling us we need to follow the meta with these changes really sucks. "Do power-build or uninstall"
  17. Tempests: I am a support... :(Anet: NyTempests: I have Healing Power armorAnet: Support Tempests with Imbued Melodies are way OP, lets delete them, here some 7% damage because all classes must follow the metaTempests: But I'm a support...Anet: Well, you have Elemental BastionTempests: But the thresholds and the protection and the concentration and...Anet: Its OPTempests: :(Anet: Why noone plays Tempests anymore?Tempests:Anet: Anouncing Tempests will be deleted from game cause noone uses itEles:Anet: Oh by the way, that thing we announced in the Living Story announcement about Builds, will only be available in GW1 and 3, because GW2 doesn't need it.Noone:Anet: Why are you like that?Former Anet emplyees: Something went bad.
  18. No, Tempest looses -300 Concentration from "Imbued Melodies", replaced by 120 + 120(when +90% HP witch is never), on the new trait, so overall its all a loss of 60 to 180 Concentration, plus the loss of the Lesser Sand Squall is a very big hit for Support Tempests. Tempest prof will die next month. And a Healing Tempest doesn't need 7% dmg, thats useless. Sand Squall is a great skill and will be sorely missed, but Elemental Bastion (EB) was a more common pick for support. If you weren't using EB before, you will be now, and honestly, it's not a bad option. That must be a Joke, you are comparing? Here are the numbers (Imbued Melodies vs Elemental Bastion ): Thereshold: 90% vs 75%Protection: -40% vs 0 (its funny how in the game's tooltip says 40% but in the wiki says 33%)Aura: 100% damage reflected back to projectiles casters vs 10% damage reductionMain attribute: 180 Concentration(not 300 because will be compensated by the new trait) vs 522 + (0.55*Healing) HealingSo conclusion, in most scenarios Projectile protection+reflection damage is way better than a crappy 1200 Heal with 10% damage reduction. And any amount of concentration, no matter how tiny it is, is always way better because it scales mega well with Soothing Ice and Powerful AuraTrust me I'm a pvper I tried everything, and I love seeing deadeyes 2shot themselves to death, now I will lose that! Now the one dying instantly on battle start is me!
  19. Overall great changes everywhere. Speedy conduit was useless trait, now it gives free concentration on minor trait. Tempest has a meaningful offensive GM trait which is great considering that it gives both damage buff (bigger AND longer buff compared to before) as well as less downtime until overload is ready. So we loose 60 Concentration and Lesser Sand Squall, replaced by 7% dmg, that doesn't even scale on Water's Healing Overload, and you call that an improvement..... OK, my Healing attribute is baboozled by your definition of Great. You must be learning with Trump.
  21. Elementalist Non-meta (power) builds. Using a non-meta build and being competitive would mean the game is balanced between builds, and sad truth is a healing or whatever build will never heal anything meaningful against the 7k damage critical strikes with couples secs of cooldown some builds give. Going with Crowd Control isnt also an option, cause only a couple skills give it and are so insignificant that people even laugh when taking one on the face at least comparing with other classes "Attune to water, gaining superior support and healing abilities.", "Attune to air, gaining heavy damage and control abilities.". All lies.
  22. Mind to post some idiot-proof instructions for this? I don't recommend it, these hacks tend to crash the game, at least mine did every time i got into Lion's Arch Trading area.
  23. Thank you for managing to re-make the Build system in 7 years, took a while.... I thought 7 years would be enough to remake the whole game lol
