Holographic Shockwave: Reduced range from 600 to 300.Also a good change, the range was so large before that even after evading or stun breaking with "riposting shadows" the revenant shiro stunbreak, you could get caught again at the end of the stunbreak by the same skill, which was just ridiculous.Deadly Ambition: Reduce the poison inflicted by this trait from 2 stacks for 3 seconds to 1 stack for 2 seconds in PvP & WvW. Reduce the internal cooldown from 5s to 2s in PvP & WvW.I agree with this change, lowering the initial burst yet rewarding thieves for playing more aggressively is a good idea.It's alot less damage overall though since most of the time a thief playing safe won't be able to continually get procs every 2 seconds. I'm assuming this was intended?Chaotic Interruption: This trait has been re-worked and now reduces the cooldown of one of your weapon abilities that is already on cooldown by 5 seconds when you interrupt a foe.This is fine, though very much underwhelming compared to it's previous. Maybe this trait should grant might as well?
  2. +1 man, we've seen people taking it into their own hands to host tournaments daily on NA - even if someone like that could get sponsored and given gem codes to hand out for tournaments, much like how the old academy gaming tournaments were run - I think it would breath some life into PvP. Shoutout to Ben I 100% agree with the OPI'm pretty sure he had something to do with the new 2v2 map becoming more balanced for both teams.
  3. Sorry I don't know of anything like that. There's definitely a lot to learn when you first start playing, but since the meta is constantly evolving and changing there's no be-all end-all guide. If I were you I would go to the class specific PvP forums and post questions you have there, or PM notable players in game.
  4. I'd like to help, but could you be a little more specific?If I was to list every class and every matchup there would be like 64 matchups to cover and thats assuming each class took only one build.

The sustain of holosmith isn't the issue, engineer has always operated under a medium / low healthpool and uses ( arguably the best heal skill in the game ) in conjuction with leap/ blast finishers in water fields to resustain. This isn't news, it's good at everything - and good against everything. I'm talking about tools holo here btw, thats the DPS spec. Among players of equal skill it can 1v1 most classes with the exception of weaver, it also is one of the best teamfight options as it has loads of CC, team support / utility, as well very high damage output. It also does extremely well in smaller fights, 2v2s, ect. The reason for this is because previously CI mirage was the thing keeping holosmith from being so dominating, the on demand instant CC to catch the healing turret as well as constant condi pressure and immob lockdown kept holo from shining, but now that CI has been disabled we've seen what holo can do unchecked.Honestly - I'm no expert on Holo so I won't pretend I know exactly what should be done to balance it - but it seems like anet took a step in the right direction with the suggestion shockwave range decrease.

I'll write this assuming it's traited as well3 stacks that last 3 seconds with an ICD of 5 seconds -- > 2 stacks that last 2 seconds with an ICD of 2 secondsBasically in order to achieve the same level of damage output in 10 seconds you would have to hit the target 5 times exactly on the 2 second intervals whereas previously you would only need hit the target once every 5 seconds. (That's not gonna happen often if at all)it's pretty obvious which version of the trait you'll average higher damage, and have higher burst all in one."basic math" btw

In the spirit of full disclosure, I will preface this post by saying for those of you who don't know me or my main account (anonymouse.4760), every season I have played I get to legend with thief. I will write this objectively and with as little bias as possible. It's important to know moving forward in this post that thief has 4 viable ranked specs SCROLL DOWN FOR TLDR Condi ThiefDeadeyeStaff thiefCore PowerI just want to point out a few things. . . Anet already addressed condi thief is getting nerfed, you can see it in the most recent suggested patch notes - deadly ambition ( the recently reworked trait ) is getting hit so that it has less burst and forces thieves to apply more sustained pressure. I anticipate post-season-update the aforementioned specs will become more popular among thief players. I am aware condi is disliked and frowned upon by a lot of players, ( a big reason as to why this thread has gotten so much attention ) so i'm sure a lot of you will be happy to read this. There's a lot of talk about condi thief being easy to use or broken yet of the players that make up the top 10 on the leaderboard not one of them is a condi thief, while the majority is holosmith / dps firebrand. In fact, the two thieves currently on it are a deadeye and a staff thief. In the top 25 - none of the account names I recognize belong to condi thief players. I can't speak for condi thief's effectiveness or rarity in gold or low plat which i'm assuming many of the players posting here reside in, as I am typically around 1770-1820 - but I'm sure it is more prevalent there. My point is that it's "ease of use" drops off heavily against more experienced players. Sound familiar? This is how thief has been since launch. every viable thief spec always garners complaints, because of the mechanics of the class being difficult to understand / counter. Be patient, the patch usually hits mid season, which is only a week or two away from now. In no time at all you'll be back to the forums reading complaints about how a perma stealth deadeye just one shot someone for a 13k deaths judgement, or a staff thief just survived a 1v2 and evaded ten times in a row. No matter how you look at it, thief mechanics will always be hard to deal with - sorry but that's just the nature of the class. Pick your poison Kat*TLDR condi thief confirmed getting nerfed soon, u wont c it as much because of how competitive the other options areeasier in silver / gold vs plat / legendcondi always gets more complaints than power, hence why there is more attention here than on deadeye which are both equally good in ranked IMOthief in general gets alot of complaints because its burst is low counterplay and hard to understand not bc its more op than other meta classesjust as many guardians holos revs ect as there are thieves proves it isn't out of line with other meta classes*

Why is it taking so long to get put back in the game?Also, this is a little late but as for the big announcement stream:I really liked the mini seasons idea, props to you anetbut swiss was announced to be in the works years ago when the mass majority of the PvP playerbase said MAT finals should be bo3. I really wish that PvP would get a little more attentionat least fix our monthlieseditor give us some updates?
