  1. This is incorrect, you only need Soto for this. Edit: should have read the whole convo before commenting, sorry.
  2. I don't understand the logic here, you can't complain about a content being hard to get into and also be against an action incentivizing people to get into said content in the same sentence. Most likely, it will motivate more people who were maybe hesitating to try it out therefore offering more opportunities to get into the content. If everyone acts like you, there is no solution to this issue. You don't lose anything by not doing an optional objective either. Regarding the gatekeeping, there are a lot of communities offering raid/strikes trainings for free, I've also seen quite a lot of experienced players spontaneously joining trainings advertized on the LFG to help out (to the point where it happened you had more experienced players joining than trainees in some cases), in my community, someone made an event where a few experienced players would do Minister Li over and over during a couple hours to try to get as many people their turtle. Right now, you just sound like the "We've tried nothing and we're already out of ideas" memes. I don't see no PvP/WvW players complaining about this although there wasn't a single special objective related to PvP or WvW since the Wizard's Vault released.
  3. As someone mentioned you could buy the expansion pack before EoD actually released. And it is not because you typed literally something that I should take it at face value. It is also rich to talk about speculation when you're the one coming with the unrealistic claim. It could be no speculation if you just tried to find out the truth, that's what you could tell me. Can I also point out the irony of mentioning buying at least some of the expansions and wonder why they are not suddenly free?
  4. I do not believe you got EoD for free because of a glitch, you should be able to find your back your key. Are you sure you didn't buy the pack with all expansions? You should also be able to find back in your mail the receipt of the transactions.
  5. I can't believe how entitled people are in this thread, complaining about a 2 days delay for something that's not even in the game yet is crazy to me. Don't get me wrong, it is fine to have "concerns" and worry about the value of the time and gold you invested in legendary runes but you know they're preparing a compensation and seeing how wild the discussion is, I'd also take my sweet time to give a bulletproof answer. Wouldn't be the first time the wording used could create more frustration (remember the first post about legendary armory where a lot of people believed it would release in the "next update"?). Even if it is not something that was carefully evaluated since the start, as long as the solution they come up with is satisfactory to me, I don't really care, it is not like they released the kitten thing and had to come up with a quick and dirty compensation that wouldn't satisfy anyone.
  6. So, I don't know if it is a bug but I've noticed something really annoying, especially if you play bladesworn, engineer or elementalist in PVP. I have a "PVE" and a "PVP" gear template (although it would be neat to have something completely separated for PVP but that's not the point). What I noticed, is if I weapon swap on my PVE template, when I enter a game (queueing while doing PVE stuff), I'll be on the "other" weapon set even though it is not the same template. Most of the time, it does not matter but if you play engineer, elementalist or bladesworn and don't pay attention, you can get locked with the wrong weapon set. I could understand if using the same weapon set for both but it occurs also when using a different one.
  7. I confirm that standing in the hitbox when using the skill works, from 0% hit to 100% when I got the timing right.
  8. What most people seem to forget about GW1 is that you have to pay to change your build which does not work in a dynamic game like GW2 where in the same instance you might change builds multiple times. There is already a gamemode where your gear stats don't matter, it is sPVP, the main reason being you can play any class you want and have the same stats as your opponents because skill rather than gear should make you win or lose . I don't see how gear having specific stat sets is an issue, it just adds more diversity in the game. Developpers can make an elite specilization oriented towards only power or condi but some theorycrafters can find builds to play it in a different way with different gear stats. The GW2 gear system is one of the best in my opinion as your gear is always relevant once you get it, you never have to grind again (for the same stats) and you can even share it with other characters if you get ascended. The suggestion also don't make any sense if you consider they literally just added the legendary armory. You want to freely change your stats on your gear? The option is there, get legendary equipment. I cannot emphasize how dumb changing how stats work after incentivizing people to craft legendary gear would be (except if you care only about infinite fashion). I totallly disagree with the build templates argument because it makes the gear templates completely worthless and second of all you already need to swap trait if you want to play differently regardless of your gear. Regarding balance, more diversity makes it maybe a bit more complex because there are more builds to consider but I don't think that when a build overperforms it is due to the gear only, since gear stats are the same for everyone you can remove it from the equation. So, you would still have to balance around skills and traits just on less builds which I don't think is a fair trade-off. To conclude, I don't think this is an issue, this goes opposite to the whole game direction since the trait system rework and sacrificing diversity over balancing is not something players should desire.
  9. I see a lot of people confused and I was also surprised when the feedback that the feature was still in development came in. Then I read again the first post. They meant the next "update" for the templates feature is the legendary armory but the way it was said could be understood as the legendary armory will be in the next game update. They had to monetize the gear templates because those give you extra inventory slots but they should not have monetized the build templates in the same way. I would also have given at least 3 gear templates (one for each game mode). I believe account wide gear template for a higher price would make them more attractive.Regarding legendary owners, they got almost nothing with that update. The gear template value also lies in the extra slots so people with ascended gear and 2 different builds gained potentially up to 16 slots in their inventory, people in the same situation with all legendary gear earned 0 slots.I think the idea of Anet is to give legendary gear more relevance again so I don't think they will monetize this feature. I also have the feeling that they are pushing people to make legendaries. Look at the number of mystic clovers the reward track of the new map give compared to the old ones. Look at all the T6 you get on the new map. There is also for the first time a PVE reward track that gives you clovers.
  10. The point is there is no way to distinguish who really "deserve" a compensation (players unaware of the issue losing actual progress, players unaware of the issue who just logged in, players aware of the issue suiciding in LA, players aware of the issue trying to duplicate some legendaries, players aware of the issue deciding not to login because that could mess with their progress, players not logging in because that could mess with the servers, players not able to logging in before the servers were put down due to irl stuff). Since there is no way to make this distinction, it does not make sense to give different compensations. And again it is not because you lost progress that you lost your time, you play a game because you enjoy it (hopefully). Even Anet agrees with this since they did not give any compensation for the previous rollback (which was manual and not accidental).
  11. I think that gatekeeping content is a bad idea in general. People have to get ascended gear to be able to use the infusions anyway. That problem is already solved by the way the LFG works for fractals since it is based on your personal fractal level or that means they are playing with friends who don't mind.Succeeding in clearing lower level fractals does not train you for higher levels in general since any group with any gear can clear all of them.An example of this is the step between 99, 100 and their respective CM's. Wuold be very surprised if an experienced group from T4 who never did CM's would manage to clear them.If you want only veteran players in your fractal group, ask for CM KP's or join a static. No need to affect the whole player base for your assumptions on how the game should be played.
  12. It can be part of m point, why give an extra mount to a limited amount of people?
  13. What am I reading? Everybody impacted by this issue should get the same compensation if there is one. Their phrasing was something like "we are investigating ways how to compensate players for the DOWNTIME". Downtime, not progress lost. In worst case, you would lose around 6 hours progression (even though that means you would be aware of something being wrong since you were online when the game crashed). In 6 hours, with the best farming methods you can win around 150 golds during that time while 1200 gems are worth around 400 golds.Lots of people were not able to play at all, progress is not everything in a game, while others actually you know played the game.Last time when they did a manual rollback because of issues after a release they did not compensate anyone and I agree with this. But if you choose to compensate why complicate things and create frustration when your goal is the complete opposite.
  14. I thought there was more flexibility to adapt skills but it makes sense and I agree that skills should have similar perks in all game modes. But I don't get why this was packaged with what was supposed to be a soulbeast nerf.I don't see how changing one staff skill would create an unkillable bunker though, especially in the current state of PVP.
  15. In my opinion, although it looks like being +1/roamer brings more impact to your game, I believe that it is actually easier to "carry" when playing duelist build that can hold a node or even a strong teamfighting build. The reason is that if your team is losing on the map, you can stagger the enemy points but you don't give points to your team. If I can make a Lol analogy, it is like playing jungler where you potentially have impact everywhere to give your team an advantage but if your team loses all lanes you cannot do much.Usually, you even get blamed at the end. Contrary to Lol though, even if you are losing, the enemy do not get XP or gold advantage so it is easier to turn a game around. I really like your comment about not giving up when behind. As a thief, you want to avoid being idle (although you can full cap some points when they are not defended and your team is not outnumbered). It is nice to see posts like this and such a positive attitude. Communication is indeed key, best to know upfront that someone going far at the start to avoid committing too hard on a potential 3v4 on mid or being sure who goes close. With that mentality, you should climb quite easily. I'm not a high ranked player but just focusing on rotating better, communicating and looking for what you can improve rather than blaming your teammates should bring you easily into gold.
