Do you play a build that generally has high mobility and allows you to choose weak matchups and quickly beat them into submission or be be on your way to 'win' in some other way elsewhere as you desire if things might go sideways?

Yeah, because the way they arranged the achievement this time is SUPER EPIC. Not epic, per se, but it is actually aranged in such a way to actually be some sort of an ACHIEVEMENT as opposed to the standard checklist of tedium. Imagine that... It's the worst of both worlds, a total and complete failure. It mixes challenging content with boring grind, both of which have large groups of players that don't like them. It seems designed to appeal to as few people as possible.Well, at least on the bright side (for you), it's still 95%+ mindless grind so the vast majority is still catered to you. :) This is to the dissatisfaction of those that you admit don't care for such things, obviously. We can all have the same fair complaint, even if you do still get the lion's share of the enjoyment out of it. Maybe in the future, they can implement, two versions of the meta achievements. One that is 15-20 hours of boring grind and then another that is just 2-3 simple strike mission achievements. Then we could all be happy.?

I think it would make the most sense to completely remove the word 'achievement' in any future releases. Perhaps even the concept altogether. We could just click on a box full of all the typical loot you'd expect received after completing the story and the everyone bent on open world only content, due to w/e social anxieties and pressures, could simple run around and repeat all the events. It seems that is what this thread is advocating for. Maybe a couple more lines of flavor text could be added to the events or a tracker for how many times you've repeated them. They could even add an instanced 'celestial challenge' style event for those that really wanna switch it up. Geez, what's left of these devs can't push their talents, creativity, or boundaries without a player base that will go along with them. Must be super frustrating to want to do epic things and then read threads like this...

Drakkar is a world boss and the associated achievements are 100% consistent with literally every other world boss achievement in the game. (They did seem to misplace the location of the achievements in the panel as it could've made sense to put right next to the others.) Don't mean to 'derail' the thread, but the apathy makes me think people won't care so I'll point out there's been a 'fishing rod' skinned weapon in the game for, I think, about 5 years called the Improvised Longbow. I haven't seen the staff so it's probably not as completely epic as this new thing. Can you actually fish with the staff skin?

Same, I wanted to keep them in case new stuff from this ep needed it, and after that I wouldve used them on ls4 ones but.... yikes Yeah, it's pretty rotten. The 'whoops, you salvaged your Restored Boreal' is a k8ck in the sack for a lot of people too it's looking like. Tbf, most of the LWs4 currencies are fairly reasonable imo considering how many you can reasonably acquire vs how many you need, with the exception of the COMPLETELY OUT OF LINE kralkatite ore. 16000! You get 1 (yes ONE) from each sunspear cashe and limit of one meta a day. Other than that you're farming meteors on a dead map with maybe one other person if you're lucky. That 200ish per day conversion was HUGE! That's like 4 hours of farming stupid meteors in one of the least interesting maps. Sorry for being sour but the 50 ectos for an exotic weapon already left a bit of a bad taste...this definitely makes a very frustrating set even worse. I'll let it go and just forget about it. Just seems super out of touch imo.

That's just dirty. I was trading them for kralk trying to catch up for astral/stellar (which are already a pain for someone who played PvP instead of w/e istan farm) and had saved mine the last week and a half thinking I'd have a tiny headstart for new episode. I get they're easy to get but this just sucks. Couldn't give a heads up? Only 13000 kralk to go so no big deal I guess... :(

Try the Scout's Boots.

If you use medium armor, I'd recommend Scout's Boots. The are my favorite. With white and whatever other color you like, you can make a sweet looking pair of shelltoes. :)

All of these are good points and I'll admit to being a mediocre player myself. I can't help myself to get past another 'baseline' problem with balance. GW2 metagaming. Until this is straightened out, balance is never going to get better with this population. The top tier players can literally beat this 'majority' with nothing but an off hand weapon and clever use or profession mechanics. So the metagame is how they 'keep each other honest' by being completely dishonest and 'gaming the game' as hard as they can. Admittedly, I don't really have an answer for this as I completely stopped caring ages ago. Perhaps solo queue only during seasons and increasing the frequency of ATs (for team play;and lowering their payout slightly)? We have a 'leaderboard' that should denote individual skill, but we all know it's really 250 examples of the same couple dozen people abusing the system. Or I'm totally wrong and this entire post only reflects how little your average player cares anymore. Have a swell day.

I do the lvl 60 story every week, with this week being my sylvari necro, which will finish the cycle of doing a key run on every class with every race, and with all five charr sparring partners, bc charr master race :) I did all the story paths at least once before I started that cycle as well. I say all of this just to point out that I've done the lvl 60 keyrun a lot. And I can say when I'm done my keyrunner is usually 4-5 hrs old . . . Some caveats, however. I start at level 51 and I don't have a dedicated bag opener so I use my keyrunner to open the previous week's accumulated bags before I start. There is also the inv management from all the leveling up gear and I'll usually tinker with skins and dyes for a little bit before I start. Lately I've been doing map completion in Grothmar for the recovered artifact as well. The keyrun itself is neither rushed nor relaxed, I'll use mounts or wp's to get around, don't usually watch movies. There are some story paths I avoid bc I just don't like them, but I don't make an effort to pick the fastest sequences either. So I'd guess someone who was more focused on using their time efficiently could easily get that down under three hours, probably by a good bit. Buying a key costs about 30-50 gold, depending on rates and discounts. I offer this not to dispute your point but just to give ppl an idea of how long a lvl 60 run might take . . . Whoa...i do this in just under 2 hrs O.o

I'm just gonna get to the point b/c this is ridiculous! Raiden just stand there and throw lightning at me and teleport around I have a hard time b/c range is OP with no freaking counterplay! Just when I work so hard to get in close finally to do my jumping punchpunchkickpunch combo and he block it and then one shot me with 14 freaking legsweep! Then I finally think I'm doing good and I'm winning then everyone throw the stupid broken OP Blue Spikeyshell and knock me off and make me lose first place and can't do anything about this garbage! AND THEN it makes me sad and I want to quit and my girlfriend tell me it's supposed to be a happiest time of the year and say "You better not be an a-hole at the dinner table again this year!" and I tell her that hurt my feelings and she tell me "learn 2 dodge scrub!" Plz nerf Katie :(
