  1. Want to add to this what I read on Reddit... With their QoL post they made when introducing cosmetic inspect, they also referred to their graphics update and such. Someone on that Reddit post mentioned that the water in SotO is actually really insane, as swimmable water appears at different heights/water levels on the map. I'm absolutely a novice when it comes to developing games and such, but this person said Anet basically had to overhaul their water system to do that. He said this didn't appear elsewhere, and that all other maps have a water level. This is why Dragon Stand, for example, doesn't have any swimmable water, because it's really low in the map. This would have been a lot of work for the devs to accomplish. I'm saying this as a sign of hope that we'll see more water stuff in the future. Personally, I'd love to see an overhaul of the current underwater combat system and more water content.
  2. No? I mean, "mastery" means to have mastered something. Those masteries are for those areas because they usually support the content of that area. So the idea is that you "master" it. If that means I'm spending time I normally wouldn't in Seitung Province doing each and every event the map can possibly offer... Well then, that's what I'm doing. And I'm knocking out a bunch of interesting lore driven achievements along the way. Which means I'm actually mastering the map as well. Like, it makes sense. Let alone the fact that it would drive engagement in those exact maps down to nothing by not making anyone actually do it. Do you have any idea how hard some of those events would be if literally no one had a reason to be on those maps? Achievements would be harder to accomplish, less popular metas would be empty, and normally fun group events would become a slog. It's balanced the way it is for many reasons, and Silverwastes doesn't exactly struggle to get engagement. Find an LFG, it's still popular to this day, as is. Also, side note, you can turn those shards into material upgrades and sell them.... For gold. There's dozens of things to spend those shards on, and there's even players that will "buy" those shards from you if you know where to look.
  3. Definitely agree and this bothered me as well. Right from the I was like ??? In regards to clover cap. I do think, if the seasons are varied lengths, it's fair to decide the amount of rewards there is on a per week basis, and then multiply it out by the number of weeks for the full season. And this isn't just for clovers. By the end of last season, I was skipping the dailies and the weeklies because none of the remaining rewards felt worth it, and the T5 and overpriced bags of coins felt like a waste of acclaim. I love this new system, but nearing the end of the season drove down my engagement. And so far this season, knowing it's longer with the same/less rewards, I haven't engaged as much because I know nothing is really gained from doing every week's objectives. Raising the cap on some of these items would be fantastic.
  4. Wait, did you only get it for the animations though? Like you knew what the bot skin looked like, but now don't like the way it looks? I have it, I loved it from the moment I saw it. Spent soooo many keys failing to get it before buying it from the statuette shop. I'm so happy he just hangs out over my head and does his little screech. I didn't expect it to do all those animations, because I got the skin for the bot. What you have following you is the mini jade bot that's a mirror of your reskinned jade bot. And minis just kinda hang out near you, not really ever doing something fancy. So I got the bot for the chonky boi dragon that he is. If you didn't like how he looks... Why did you get it?
  5. I guess I'll add to say some positives about SotO, and answer a bit of confusion about progression and such. I'll preface by stating I absolutely hated Cantha. Another "Asian inspired" land, as if that's never been done, god-awful map design for NK, I find the turtle mount pointless, and the story was an absolute train wreck from start to finish. How that storyboard was approved was beyond me. So really, it comes down to what you like in an expansion. Anet prefaced by stating there weren't going to be any more elite specs. So expecting it at this point, is mute. The balance of the game is already teetering, and I think them overhauling the way they balance and produce new playstyles is vital for long-term goals rather than short-term. To me, this change (just like the relic system) are clear signs of the team progressing towards a more flexible system with a lot of growth potential. Elite specs just can't fit into that. For story, and progression of the characters. This was tough for me to swallow as well, going into SotO... And without giving spoilers, I was pleasantly surprised with the direction the "commander" is going, for themselves. They made some very big shifts in the story, and pulled it off better than I anticipated. It was well worth it for me. And the new characters are just absolutely delightful. I will also say, since you stated you did not want legendaries, so what's the point; if you like fashion wars, there are some fantastic skins that came with some of the achievements that have absolutely no business being that good. And because the content is new, there are some great gold-making new items from drops, metas, and crafting. For masteries; I find the difference in the Skyscale, while subtle, has extreme qol. The fireball and combat launch alone open up a lot of possibilities, and shooting around on the griffon and hitting airdrafts is just so fun. Surprisingly so, coming from someone who got the griffon years ago and never used it until rifts. New content wise... I agree there isn't a lot. But for me, EoD had nothing special to offer for me either. This is one of those subjective things again. Personally, I love the rifts. I get a cup of hot tea, a snack, put an audiobook on, lower the game music, and just chill for a few hours at a time. So repeatable because it's repetitive. I can check out and destress while murdering demons. What more can I ask for. So it really depends what you want from the game. While some people adored EoD, it made me question whether I wanted another expansion from the same team. Whereas SotO has restores my faith in humanity.
  6. I don't think I've ever had this happen? Although, I follow through and actually complete any events I decide to work on. I've seen events gray out on the side panel, but those have always been events I haven't been working on. If you're working on an event and it grays out for inactivity while you're doing it, raise a bug report for it. They may have to adjust it for individual events. If there's enough tickets overall with varied data, they can tweak it as needed. If you don't, how would it ever get fixed? For the Amnytas meta, I see people talking about... I've found that doing T1 bounties tends to net me more participation overall than actually doing the meta. It definitely needs some fixing. Bug reports from individual players is probably how Anet can see what's going on. It is odd that when I participate in every stage and complete events, I end up with a random range of 60-90% participation, but doing T1 rifts gets me 120%.
  7. This is an odd problem to have. And more of a you problem than anything else, tbh. What I basically got from your post is... you don't actually check anything before assuming/doing it. For the Astral Acclaim limit, the max acclaim you can have is pretty clear. It's stated in the top right corner of the window. For the Wizard Vault's rewards, Anet stated multiple times in multiple places that the vault would cycle seasonally. And it is entirely on you that you didn't think to scroll down on the screen. It's not bad design to have a scrollable window. For the transmutation charges, honestly, I didn't realize it could be an issue. Have you considered double-checking your changes before hitting apply? I think this method will help with 100% of the issues you're having. If it doesn't, I believe a third check may help significantly. Another option, close the window, and reopen it, and re-add only the changes you want, then hitting apply. A potential future option would be to get legendaries, as you can reskin as much as you want without the cost of charges. Relax, consume your hoarded charges, and live dangerously with the wrong hat occasionally. You can get more, if everything goes wrong.
  8. There isn't really a whole lot of variety to the dailies at the moment, and daily activity has already appeared... what, 3-4 times? In a few weeks? I know there's plenty of threads in regards to the distaste for the activities, but rather than fully removing them, can we just let adventures and races count towards them? Some of the adventures are enjoyable, and adding them as an option would give them more buzz. As for races, maybe there will actually be someone to race against again? Dunno, just a suggestion. Anything else to help make that daily in particular not something players dread the moment it pops up?
  9. Just like the stock market, not everything is going to always go in your favor. That's how economies work. The ebb and flow of life, changes, disasters, relief... those all effect an economy. You're upset about the economy for your benefit got messed up. But dude, that's how the economy goes. People who once profited, aren't always going to. At some point, things shift. That's why putting all your eggs in one basket is never the way to go. Personally, as someone who when through those struggling of equipping my first character, and have 5 legendaries now (more in progress)... I'm so happy about the ascended boxes and legendary starter kits being in the vault. It's awesome! Just because I suffered, doesn't mean I want others to suffer as well. I help new players out quite a bit, I help them figure out starter builds for their play style, help them gear up, go through the story, find what game mode they enjoy, etc. There's nothing wrong with making the game less of a "job" for others. Sure you can get a lot of ascended boxes from fractals and raids... but not everyone enjoys that gameplay. It's important for people to feel like they can enjoy the game however they want. This helps them do that. Just because we suffered through it, doesn't mean other should, too. And just because you aren't profiting, doesn't mean the economy is wrecked. It just changed, as an economy does. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone enjoy the game. I look at the good a change can bring. You should try it sometime.
  10. This is why I play Asura. All the weapons are big to them lol
  11. That's fair enough. I'm really wanting to know how they get past the cooldowns on their hammer. Rereading, they do add hammer more as a footnote though. Bummer, because I feel like the cooldowns on hammer and untamed skills were designed with FF in mind, and now it's just a bear to get past them without 1-keying it for 10 seconds. Would love to know how LL works (in play) and how to take advantage of it.
  12. Genuinely curious how you're handling it so well. I run Longbow/Hammer and really struggle with cooldown walls? I was in a fantastic rhythm with FF, and then adjusted tighter with the 4s -> 3s change, but was manageable. But with LL, I tried roaming WvW and couldn't get past a wall of cooldowns. After some messing around, I just moved over to Ferocious Symbiosis. I'm glad they're planning to make the change for Ambush as it's waaaaay too convoluted atm. I'm really missing FF, and hurting without it. So would love to know how you manage to not hit massive cooldowns? Maybe I'm just god-awful at figuring out this new trait, it honestly doesn't seem helpful to me at all.
  13. Asura female - double tight braids on character select screen has a gap on the top of her head and you can see through the character's head.... been like this for months. Asura female - part of the left eye is shaded incorrectly on character select screen, looks like she has an eye infection. This appears on both my female asuras, been happening for months. Asura broken hair + eye Asura more gaps in hair on turning
  14. Hi there, I know this was an issue in the beta, but looks like the bug is back and has been prevalent for a little while now. When I have the pet unleashed and use the F1 key to teleport the pet, even with my pet is already next to/in range of the target, my pet decides THAT's the time to flee the flight, and teleports away from the target. Pleasssssse fix this, between this and my pet stowing whenever he feels like, the pet is missing half the fights.
  15. Wanted to add to this that it's not just a Soulbeast issue.... Core and Untamed have this exact issue and has never been resolved. It's most notable when dismounting or going in and out of the water. 2/3rds the time I have to launch my aqua pet the moment I hit the water. I've definitely been killed several times coming out of the water in WvW because hey, no pet. As of 11/10/2022 this is still present as a bug for me.
