  1. In Secrets of the Obscure: Act 2 Mastery achievement, it requires an achievement called Fractal Push that reads " Help push toward the fractal of Droknar's Light. " Anybody know what this is in reference to? I'm not sure and don't remember it being alluded to in the story. No spoilers for people who haven't completed it please, just a bit of direction is welcomed.
  2. In a way, a lot of the weekly tier systems for PvP and WvW are more battle pass like than the upcoming system. Where have you been?
  3. Hey! I’ve recently been delving into Firebrand as well and figured I could share some of the knowledge I’ve learned with you. If somebody is more knowledgable, I’m sure they’ll correct me. I assume you’re referring to Mantra, which is a type of skill Firebrands (and Mesmers) have at their disposal. For Firebrand, think of it as a skill with 3 individual uses (or charges as they’re referred as) before it enters a cooldown state, the time it takes until they are all able to be used again. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mantra Something to consider about Firebrand’s mantra usage is that each charge is functionally the same, but typically the last charge has a bit more bang in the effects it brings. The first two charges also has its own refresh period where you will get a charge back, sort of like a cooldown state, but the third, more powerful charge will enter a longer cooldown state. If you are still in combat when the cooldown is over, you’ll have to “enable” the mantra for use again, it’s usually a couple seconds of channeling. If you are not in combat when the cooldown is over, your mantra will skip the channel and you’ll have all three charges again. Mantra of Solace is a healing focused mantra, it will give a burst of healing with each use to you and nearby party members. Mantra of Potence is similar in function, but it will apply the quickness boon instead of healing. Presuming you’re playing something close to Condi Firebrand, the rotation can feel overwhelming but focus on the big things first—you’ll rarely need to enter F2s or F3s tomes so forget about those 10 skills for now. The first tome is your primary damage and you’ll ideally cast skills 5, 4 and 2 in that order and typically stow the book away while the skills recharge. You’ll swap to your axe/torch and always use the 2 skill from it as it comes off cooldown, use any procs from your 4 skill and use 5 when 2 isn’t available. Auto attacking in between and be sure to finish the chain when you begin it. You’ll return to your F1 tome when it’s generated the charges to use it’s 5, 4, and 2 again. Plug in any utility as needed during any of this in tome or axe/torch. You can take “Hold the Line!” if you would like and you may run into situations where it could be helpful, but ultimately there is better skills for damage purposes or utility. Hope this helps!
  4. Hey! Was curious if you guys offered an alternative to the Sunday meeting. I’m usually working those hours, but interested in joining.
  5. I circle around to guild wars a couple of times a year among many other MMOs and it's always felt like the more inviting guild among the top few.
  6. Apologies, I am running the build with a similar name on Meta Battles. https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Firebrand_-_Quickness_Support_Healer
  7. I recently gathered all the harrier gear needed to play healing firebrand, but I’m a put confused on how to keep quickness up 100% as such. Am I correct in understanding when using Mantra of Potence I would want to burn through all three charges of it ASAP and bridging the downtime of its cooldown with "Feel My Wrath"? Just trying to get use to upkeeping quickness boon--its new territory for me along with healing.
  8. There isn't any inherent reason to removed ranked from Guild Wars 2. Taking it away would likely do more harm and really, I can't think of any good to come of it. The structure of an organized ranked ladder gives competitive players a goal. Like others' have said, PvP, specifically for MMOs, isn't a new player friendly corner of the genre and that is almost by design. World of Warcraft is the only PvP that has broken into a eSports like foundation and even then it is a friendly incredibly niche thing joined by an even smaller viewer base. The eSports attempt was cool to watch, but I ultimately can't blame them for dropping the chase.
  9. People are usually pretty helpful in map chat. A lot of friendly interactions and banter go a long way to making friends and decent community. I've had a tough time finding a guild, though.
  10. Honestly? I'd probably just fall back to GW1, maybe some WoW on the side.
  11. Hey all, played obsessively for two years at launch and took a break up until now--been getting into the game again. I'm looking for a guild with a bit of PvE focus, though World vs World and sPvP are welcome additions too. I prefer an older crowd, being almost 30 myself, but I'm not incredibly picky if the company is mature enough. Guardian main, Yak's bend is the server if that matters anymore. Thanks in advance!
