  1. Generally, whenever you see someone complaining about a boonblob, it's usually either such a ranger or thief, yes. That's not to say that there is no problem. The recent nerfs to boon denial/stripping in the form of WoD and even engi's super niche throw mine build are mind boggling.
  2. When you create a time machine and go back to 2016. Remember to buy bitcoin and send me some if you do.
  3. I've been trying for this ever since I started playing.
  4. Well, clearly, what we need is a nerf to shouts. /s
  5. Well there's your problem. Friend had tried rifle mech in the first week in pugs, and was consistently number 1 dps (most of the time twice or more damage than next one behind him) with just auto attack and rifle 2. Pugs are a horrible benchmark. And that's not even considering how that DPS figure was reached on snowcrows - with overkill, inflating its actual dps by around 2k. You are right that a certain kind of player that has good knowledge about the encounter and class will put out good damage. It's also true that other classes will put out the same or better for significantly less effort. That's the real problem. There's no reward for the risk. A power virtuoso or mech can do the similar damage in most situations, with far less risk and effort.
  6. Anet, if you're reading this. consistency is great, but you've never been consistent before. Please don't start doing it now at the cost of good content. If you want something to make more consistent, look at changing weapons/back pieces to be dyeable, just as the other visible gear.
  7. This was one of the more memorable parts of any fractal. It's sad to see it just deleted like this.. At least they didn't touch Frizz' greatest -
  8. This is a pretty bad idea, for a very simple reason. One of the main reasons you don't see build diversity with warrior is precisely because Strength and Discipline are must haves, leaving no real room for an alternative spec (unless you go core). It would be a bandaid for the larger problem, and probably result in just pushing a much needed rework even farther into the future.
  9. Also, there's no explanation for the Throw Mine nerf. I have no idea why this was considered necessary. To be sure, engis can be excellent at stripping, but so are scourges and mesmers, with significantly higher utility. Strip engi can't compete in damage/condi spam, nor run tools as powerful as veil.
  10. Let me try to write this post: Hello Tyrians, as you know, the last patch had some issues that were not very clearly explained. We recognize that there are currently some severe imbalances in the game. There are too many issues to tackle all at once, so we wanted to focus on them in bite size chunks. These are the issues that we find most pressing: Necessity of different builds for solo/organized play, even for the same role. Many class specific boons heavily restrict party composition. Disparity between condi/power (including from a gear perspective) and melee/ranged. Skill floor/ceiling reward disparity on many classes. In this patch, we focused on the Engineer to ensure it has multiple viable builds, as we felt is was in a mostly good spot, thus requiring minor adjustments. In the next patch, we are planning to work on <class name here>, to ensure it has a similar versatility, while maintaining its class vision. We're addressing the first and second points by reworking class boons so that none are strong enough to make the class mandatory, as well as removing sources of precision that are not available in all gw2 environments. The current solution is temporary, and we will be adjusting the class boons as we work through the classes. Our players have, as usual, taken to experimenting with our previous balance changes, and have found new builds. One that we feel has incredible potential is the catalyst. This particular build had excellent damage and provides some quickness for its party. On its own, this is not a problem, however due to scaling, when stacking multiple catalysts, it greatly increases overall party damage, which would lead to further power creep. Congratulations to the players that have uncovered this issue! However, for the health of the game, and in the spirit of keeping things varied, as it would eventually result in squads composed of mainly catalysts, we are adjusting it, to remove this hyper scaling potential. We've seen some Bladesworn warriors experiment with Arms trait line, and we really want to support this, as warriors have been locked in with Discipline and Strength as must haves since the game's beginning, reducing the ability to create varied builds. We want to encourage warrior players to look at other trait lines, especially since now banners are no longer a must-have. As such, we're providing the 5% crit chance in the arms line, so that the Bladesworn has an improved critical rate even outside of their bursts and dragon slashes. This is by no means the full extent of warrior changes - we realize they require a significant rework in most spec lines, utilities, and weapons. This is merely an incentive for players to experiment with new builds until the rework arrives later this year/2023.
  11. From that warrior video linked. What makes people say "nerf rifle" is the fact that it's also an explosion, which procs the rocket, plus all the other trait synergy. I'm not sure there's even any other mechanic in the game that can benefit from as many traits as that. The "problem" isn't even that. It's great to be able to build around a mechanic like that. The problem is that very few other classes can even dream of having such a synergy. Instead of nerfs (although some tweaking might be needed), other classes should be (as Anet promised) brought up to have more viable builds.
  12. berserker: Why would anyone play power then? spb: Would be interesting, but mostly pve, where they can't compete in damage, and their other support is just inadequate. bs: This could actually be good idea.
  13. I really don't understand where this conspiracy kitten is coming from. Have any of you people accusing these "elitist streamers" even read the leaks, or seen what they have to say about the patch? You're complaining about streamers saying warrior is doing great in spvp?!? What? Who is saying that, I don't know of anyone that even plays one competitively, let alone says it's doing great..
  14. This lesson was learned at by DAoC back in 2004. There may have been even earlier ones. It's amazing how Anet can fail so spectacularly.
  15. In WvW zergs, it's actually REALLY good, assuming you have a few of them, and the commander knows how to take advantage of that.
