  1. People like the OP make me kinda happy ANet doesn't take the forums seriously. Imagine if someone actually listened to this sort of hysteric screeching.
  2. Willbender F1 doesn't apply it's passive underwater-rendering the condi build unusable there. EDIT: Whoops, this isn't the bug report thread.
  3. Ah, I haven't PuGed in a while and I usually just duoq with my SO only asking for dps. It's been nice since, even if we get bad damage allies, I'm still doing qbrand damage if I have to carry. One adjustment I'd like to see if for either Barrier Burst or Crisis Zone to have more stability. This is because I would really like to play the comp trying my partner's qbringer but then we lack reliable team stability-unless I start asking for a PUG to bring it and then its just more complicated than a two person duo designed to simplify LFGs. I feel like if the Mech could bring its own Stability you could divorce it from Firebrand and let it stand alongside any Quick dps rather than needing the QB to shore up it's flaw with SYG.
  4. I've actually never tried the duo with the Mech filling as the condi dps slot providing the other boon. How's Alac Condi play?
  5. I firmly believe HB and Alacren are outdated and Healmech/qbrand duo is better for nearly all encounters. The superior damage just helps so much more, it's just a matter of waiting for PuG LFGs to catch up. I *think* Siren's and obviously Aquatic are about the only wrinkles to the new duo's power as the Mech vanishing if the Engineer hits the water is a big downside-though this can be countered by a careful Engineer this obviously isn't foolproof.
  6. This is true, but fortunately we have Sanc. Now, my SO can and does run with Sigil of Transference/Paralyzation when Renewal isn't needed explicitly for such a purpose.
  7. It's because we're "blessed" with having 4x the buttons of most other classes, so our buttons have to be worse or we'd have overwhelming options at our disposal. You know, in hindsight, I wish we had to pick two Elements to equip at a time or something. Like Rev Legends. Then they could justify making each individual button better.
  8. Guard has been my pocket main since I've come back and it feels so much nicer. Playing FB you get to feel like the team mom with the amount of support you can pull out of your kitten. At anytime, I can drop Signet of Wrath for SYG for stability or Sanc for barbreak+projectile hate or even swap my elite for an AoE, multi-use stunbreaker, or bring the Condi Cleanse Mantra to help cleanse condi. Hell, I GET A FIRE FIELD THAT DOES NUTTY DAMAGE and it also cleanses conditions. Not because I had to trait for it or because it does bad damage or anything, no, it just does. Because why not. I love feeling useful and being rewarded for my understanding of a fight and having read my skills. Oh, and I'm still a dps btw. I still do competitive damage doing all that. For ele, if I want that same sastification of having understood my skills and used them to positively influence the experience of my allies I get: Aftershock for all of 4! seconds, Eye of the Storm, and Rebound, and that's if I can afford the DPS hit. And they're all in Tempest, which is the only spec for Ele I really like because it's the only one that has those classic "Big flashy mage spell" vibes. I can't even get class fantasy sastification out of it for roleplaying because I made my Ele in 2012 for the express purpose of setting things on fire and blowing things up with fire and my Guardian does that better too.
  9. Seriously I've been running a qbrand/heal mech duo for like everything and it's absolutely nuts. I cover everything they don't while still having like 80% of my usual damage in just two slots. I think the only time we saw any issue was during a T4 Siren's as when the Engie gets blown into the water, they take the robot with them which screws up healing and boons. Other than that one hiccup the duo feels just as strong as the old Healbrand+Alacren duo but with way better damage.
  10. I rate it spastic, button-mashy Weaver out of 10.
  11. If ANet released a new fractal tomorrow I'd be more worried than excited tbh. It would be buggy, full of unfulfilling trash mobs no one ever fights, probably some random platforming section, and then a boss who vomits particle effects all over my screen I eventually have to get used to parsing through.
  12. Superior and faster condicleanse and mobility, superior burst damage. You can shorten some stuff with the F3 Jump kinda like DH. It has its place.
  13. Probably minor but could the burn duration on Whirling Light be bumped up by like 20% or so and maybe add a blind? The purpose is I'd like to justify "nerfing" the skill to a 20s CD so it's CD matches that of a traited Purging Flames for the synergy. As is, it's fine but it would just feel nicer if I didn't have to mentally decide if its worth it to mash it asap vs waiting for Purging Flames for the Burning Bolts.
  14. I do my T4s with my wife and the only time I haven't gotten top dps was against a Nightmare where the Pukes prevented me from getting into melee. She normally plays Harbringer/Scourge and man has the damage gap between us gotten wide. I use a Greatsword for my secondary swap over Scepter since I really like GS5 for helping ball up adds and the GS2 gives you a second whirl finisher for burning bolts. Sometimes I chain that with Purging Flames and the Tatsu for back to back whirl finishers and oh man the burst you get from that is so nuts. I feel like a Power class sometimes with how hard that spikes your damage.
  15. Hey, I've been doing Condibender for my T4s and general PVE and I find the spec to be pretty awesome. The damage and burst you have is just a direct upgrade from cFB in exchange for losing the mob controlling aspects of Tome1 #3 and Axe #3. I was a little worried about how the damage goes down against bosses who move out of F1 flames but it's not as bad as I thought. Obviously, cFB still boasts superior defensive utilities and teamplay stuff with team-stunbreaks and reflects/stability and whatnot, but I find Condi Willbender more than holds its own as a better damage classs with crazy burst. I go for a careful mix of Vipers/Sinister myself since you cap out on Fire Duration pretty easily with Balth Runes and Condibender doesn't do a secondary condition like cFB does with bleeding, so Expertise is a dead stat at a certain point. Small thing, but Condibender has a lot of built in natural condi cleanse since you can trait your F2 to cleanse 3 Condis per use with Absolute Resolve. You lose 10% Strike Damage, but I find it to be mostly irrelevant given how something like 80% or more of my damage is burning.
  16. I've always wondered why Phoenix grants vigor and cleanses a condition. Not a very fire thing to do and always seemed kind of random or just as a reference to the namesake, since it's sure as hell not a reference to the original GW1 Skill. I assume it's a holdover from when skills were designed with PvP in mind. Scepter is my fav Ele weapon, I love all the blast finishers and it's the most "Mage" like weapon we have outside of poor Staff. I don't feel it needs much of a handling type buff-imo, it's among the most comfortable playstyle Ele has. If anything, just minor tweaks would be nice. DT maybe giving multiple stacks of burning instead of one stack of burning that lasts for an eternity would be nice. A speed up on the animation from Rock Barrier --> Hurl. Maybe a blast finisher on Shatterstone or Water Trident.
  17. Try Tempest, either support or condi-based. Much easier than what's demanded out of you from Weaver and still effective.
