  1. Who's fault is it for adding gambling in a game rated 13+? I agree though. If your kid has access to your credit card like that, its on the parents for sure. Even more so, if your kid is willing to steal your card like that, your parenting is lacking heavily.
  2. If this game is also targeted for kids then why is there gambling? BLC and ecto gambling being the 2 I can think of off the top of my head. Is there no law against this? Is Anet using a method to get around the system? I find this quite unethical. Edit: It seems like some people are misunderstanding the point. I'm not saying that adults shouldn't gamble, even though its probably better if no one does. The issue is the game is targeted at 13+. As a consumer, the age rating should be the enough for me to know if the game is appropriate for a specific age group or not. If I'm a parent buying a game that says 13+, why should I then need to worry about content for 18+ to be in there? Whats the point of the age rating if thats the case? For those people saying "well I do it and I'm fine!"...You know the world doesn't revolve around you right? You're experience is not indicative of every experience or even the common experience for that matter. The argument "But I ....." means nothing. This isn't about you. For every 20 kids that does ecto gambling, if even 1 becomes addicted to gambling that should be enough for us to not want kids around it. Theres reasons you have to be 18+ to gamble. I personally think they should increase the age rating of the game but obviously that won't happen because $$ is prioritized over the well being of children/society.
  3. Some QoL for fishing: Skiffs should have a storage compartment for bait, lures and fish. Stacks should stay when map shard closes. Sometimes you get on the map and your half to to building your stacks and then map closing prompt pops up. Mobs should not attack skiffs. Thats just annoying and troll. There needs to be a pity system. Going one hour of fishing should never yield 0 legendary fish. Not as important QoL(imo): When you catch a fish the fish itself should look different based on the quality. Maybe have a glow colored based on the quality. There needs to be more consistence when catching fight. Some times a legendary fish is easier to hook in than trash. It would be nice to be able to tell what fish is being pulled in based on the difficulty of the mini game. Would be nice is the anchor could be used while still moving. Maybe make it so that if you use it while moving your skiff takes some dmg. I'm sure theres more but I can't really think of them off the top of my head atm. I probably should have wrote a listen before posting here.
  4. Raids give decent rewards if you have a good group to clear with. Btw have you seen the lfg? It's not that active. Either you have a static or you're waiting a while to find a group. Especially if you need a specific wing or boss. Buddy was saying you should get 40-80 silver for 20 mins of content...I'm not asking for the best rewards but hes asking for the worst. Thats the issue here.
  5. I didn't find the mechanics fun. Run around until you cc then burst him. So no I did not repeat it. I've repeated content in expansions and in LW because I found the fights fun though. Exactly...When they beat the final boss they quit the game. This is a MMO. Do you want people to do the same in it? Do the final boss once then quit. What a huge waste of dev time that would be. Content in MMOs need longevity which is the reward system....I don't understand how that is complicated. You know what I want? For the content to not be dead one month after release because people played through it and there is no reason to go back. You're lying to yourself to think that it wouldn't die if they released it how you're asking. So if there is instanced content for solo players, that you can do once a day as a daily, that would make it so that they are spending all day in a tower and other players wont see them? Now you're just overexaggerating to try to prove a point which is disingenuous.
  6. Anything in life gets stale once done enough. Rewards are pretty much the spice that keeps people doing the content. It applies to almost all facets of life. If there is no results/reward, outside of the initial mastering phase, then things get stale. I will run it a bunch of times, but outside of that initial learning and master phase, it will just become routine. It's human nature. I also beat Turai Ossa on my full berserk warrior. I personally didn't find it hard. So you're telling me 2g a hour is good when people are farming 20-50g a hour? "If you wouldn't bother for such low reward, it means that you are looking for a way to farm gold alone, not a challenging solo content. In this case, there are games that are specifically designed for this, like Black Desert Online." That absolutely wrong. Look at all these single player games like Dark souls for example. People buy them, play them, then stop when they finish the story. Does that mean that they didn't want actual difficult content? No. It just means they beat the game. With a MMO, they don't want people to beat the game, its meant to have extreme longevity. Without proper rewards, 99% of people wouldn't bother outside the first experience. Edit: Dungeons are old content Anet abandoned which makes it a horrible measurement to what new content should reward. Thats probably the worst example you can use.
  7. I agree there is solo content but what is being asked for is difficult instanced solo content. Heres a ez way to make it rewarding while not effecting other aspects of the game- Every 5-10 lvls (depends on the amount of lvls) you get a reward. Could be anything from 1-6 MC (depending on the lvl) to ascended trinkets on first clear and the higher level maybe ascended armor. After the first clear you can only get a daily reward from one lvl, being the max lvl you can do. 2g, tiered mats and a chance at ascended gear would be fine enough rewards while also not trivializing other content. Gw2 is a game where you go in and play what you want and get rewarded for it. It is one of the main features. The fact that you're saying they shouldn't reward people for it is beyond me. You said it yourself, a big part of a MMO is making gold so you're pretty much asking them to put in the content but in a way that will have it dead within a couple weeks of release.

  10. The fact that you think by adding solo instance content would turn this game into a single player game is asinine...If I go to a buffet, yes I would expect pizza and sushi in the same place. MMOs are buffets.
  11. How about I play what I want... Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it shouldn't be in the game. You're just a selfish person. If it doesn't appeal to you it shouldn't exist in the game you play. Theres a lot of you on here. Instead of wanting more people to play the game you tell them to go somewhere else if it they don't like how it is. Toxic af. How about Gw2 has all types of content to attract more players to the game? I bet you don't like that idea even though it would bring Anet a ton of $$. Selfishness is a disease. And before you go on about me asking for this for selfish reason, I asked for many things that don't benefit me for the health of the game. Idc if the game has content I don't enjoy if its going to get more people to play the game.
  12. Like I said in one of my posts earlier, doing content mechanically designed for 5 players as a solo player is not fun. The content should be difficult for solo player by design not by handicapping yourself. I can make AC extremely difficult by going in with no gear and blue weapons. Thats not fun though.

  14. Yeah it is a MMO so it should appeal to a wide variety of gamers. Achievement hunting is not the same. The thread is asking for mechanically difficult instance solo content, not something you can do alone. Based on your logic, 100% of gathering is solo content. 90% of fishing is solo content! Crafting is also solo content. So why would anymore ask for more. Those are completely unrelated to whats being asked for.
  15. Being a multiplayer game doesn't mean there shouldn't be single player content. The fact that it is multiplayer should also mean it appeals to a wide variety of players. Whether that be people who enjoy solo content and/or multiplayer. I am the player who enjoys both. I mainly enjoy difficult content as a solo player because I know that I'm my own limiting factor but in general I enjoy playing multiplayer. Huge epic pvp wars or a army of people fighting a massive boss are all enjoyable to me. I also enjoy fractals and raids. But having something like the tower in FF14, without the horrible system attached to it, would only be good for the game. Doing content designed for groups of 5+ solo is not fun mechanically imo. Doesn't that also apply to fractals as well? Thats why having a stage/level system allows everyone to still be able to do the content but then it will set a certain ceiling for some people based on their skill level. Not everyone is going to be doing CM or even t4 fractals, even with the proper gear/AR and thats fine. Same should apply for solo content. I don't think finding a reward system is as tough as you may think. I can already think of a few but thats another topic.

  17. Is that not seeing them being evil though. Jormag turned the norn to sons of svanir. Scarlet destroyed LA. Joko was turning people into his minions. These are all "in your face" evil actions. None of which are subtle imo.
  18. Not only that but the cursor itself needs a facelift. The amount of times I will be right clicked in a raid and OW, mainly OW, then let go and lost my cursor is ridiculous. It literally blends into the environment.

  23. I've been stuck on 34/35 for the past 2 hours now and there is no way to see which one is missing...How is this a thing? Whta a kittenin joke. I honestly never been so annoyed in this game as I am now. So the only way for me to do this is to follow a guide from square one or just keep flying my griffon around the map for hours until I find it? WTF is this Anet...

  25. Player retention and more appeal to the MMO crowd in turn possibly increasing player numbers. I believe that if the game had more cool armor/mount skins behind specific content in the game, more people would be attracted to the game and there would be higher player retention. I read someone say that "you can work and buy a beautiful painting but if you go out and actually paint it yourself, you get more satisfaction from it". I'm pretty sure I butchered what he said but it conveys the point. Gw2 feels like the former not the latter. Maybe I'm completely wrong but from what I see, the game turns off a lot of players because of the fact that you can't do x content to unlock y skin. Its more like you have to do x content to unlock w y and z. I understand that you can make gold almost doing everything in Gw2, which is great but to farm gold efficiently you would be doing the same content daily. Edit: Also don't forget, Anet was doing just fine before mount skins.
