  1. That's just the 80/20 principle playing out. By the looks of things, the whole of Hoelbrak celebrates whenever a thief dies.
  2. Also random: let's disable warclaw use in WvW.
  3. Results look unexpectedly skewed. The amount of EOD specs we are seeing in WvW belies the answers we are seeing in this poll.
  4. Or, as someone else said on Reddit, "Trump"?
  5. Yeah I was just referencing a screenshot recently posted on Reddit. It literally looked like a GM with a ban hammer. Also done in jest, no harm meant.
  6. How would we prevent spawn camping? Should we get a GM to appear with a ban hammer, and say, "I need you all to disperse from here"?
  7. Well I mean we could suggest it's implementation, considering this might move at the speed of mud. The question is whether we should just wait for Alliances, which itself is taking awhile to crystallise.
  8. There's no need for a tie-breaking system. I'm just curious to see how long people will keep up these shenanigans.
  9. Champ arboreal spirit.. Actually, no, I want a mount skin that looks like a charging zerg.
  10. Seconding SA/Crit strike DE. Although I usually run No Quarter for more damage or Invigorating Precision for the sustain. Crit Strikes: 3, 2, 1/3 SA: 2, 2, 2 DE: 1, 1, 1 It works, because your ini regen comes from SA traits and M7. Also, Mercy, if you choose to run it. Condi p/p cheese Daredevil also works well without trickery. Run deadly arts, SA, Daredevil.
  11. Just a filthy casual here. But from the little I know, the big positives are: - Change for Daredevil Steal. - Death's Advance (DE) and ability to move slowly while kneeling. - Death's Judgement (DE) now pierces, but also at a cost. I used to switch targets sometimes before using DJ, so it can be used to pressure or down a low health target that isn't marked. Distant fourth improvement is being able to move at normal speed while casting DJ. To partially compensate for these, they kittened over Shadow Meld. I think it is still usable, but you have to be that much more careful about when you choose to press the button. It's no longer a faceroll skill.
  12. Are we talking about d/p power Daredevil? Because that thing can murder players in WvW while being slippery enough to survive, and come back to do it again and again.
  13. We can continue to discuss physics and historical accuracy, which is well and good. I think that, like several other things in the game (at least at one point of time of another), such things were not intended to exist and probably should be removed. These things, or other bugs, were either then considered cool, or Anet simply couldn't be bothered fixing it, so it continues till this day much to the chagrin of some of us.
  14. Honestly, surprised it would hit hard enough. I run 50-50 Marauder and Zerk, crit on virtually every hit, and even then I want more damage. With DE I'm always trying to end the fight as quick as possible, so drawing out the fight with celestial is different. In practice, it gets erased by Sic 'em soulbeast, one-shot mesmer combos from stealth...even a good druid, spellbreaker, catalyst, willbender will give DE quite a few issues sometimes having enough ability to outsustain power DE, let alone celestial. There's a few more interesting things in that build that I'm not quite getting. If using Potent Poison and celestial, why not Leeching Venoms? Deadly Ambition works on your d/p setup only, so are we using Shadow Shot often enough? Or is this a point-blank type playstyle using Shadow Meld to trigger rune bonus 6? Sigil of Paralyzation with no easy source of stun?
  15. Shadow Meld is also still waiting for a rework. I am still finding opportunities to use it, but I didn't think they would gut it and leave it.
  16. It's not so much whose fault it is. It's about who has more to lose. Does Anet have a great track record of balancing things? Or are they more likely to hit things with the bluntest weapon, give up on balance and just remove an entire feature? In this case, they just gave up. Now, we are gonna ask for these defense rewards to be reinstated, ad infinitum. Whose loss is it?
  17. No, it doesn't. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. Everything else you say sounds sensible and logical. Daily Defender "algorithm", sadly, is not logical.
  18. Tale as old as time. Anet: OK, kids, mummy and daddy been hard at work. Here's some new toys and privileges. GW2 players: *abuse the kitten out of it* Anet: Alright kids, turns out you lack the maturity to handle your new privileges, I am removing ALL of it, including what you had before. GW2 players: *cry a river of tears* And that was how the Elon River came to be.
  19. Thief is in a good spot, in the dumps, where it belongs. Except in WvW, apparently, where people are routinely screwed over by d/p (and to a lesser extent, p/p cele) Daredevils.
  20. Stone Heart in its current state is nuts though. The ability to tank, push and hard res (plus be in chat box) while being hard-targeted by 37 people in wvw is stupid. Add the prot, stab and Magnetic Aura spam plus your hard and soft CC in staff earth. I enjoyed it for several hours. It seemed like the lowest intensity ele build available. The change will be interesting/rage-inducing, as I think it will be abused by bursty, hit-and-run builds. Can't wait.
  21. Core. Boy, those were fun days. Also the guy has 3 thief friends. Lovely gank squad.
