  1. Ah, I see. I might have overseen the dialogue as it's not voiced and I couldn't pay attention to the text boxes while manouvering my team and myself through the mission. Quite a shame that you can miss these so easy because you're focused on the mission. And if this was a cutscene I might have forgotten about it already since it's been too long since I played through it. But thanks for the reminder though. But there's still something bothering me about this part. Why Kormir got the blessing? What makes her entitled to this? She does nothing at all the whole time while the PC does all the hard work and... I mean she clearly caused this whole mess back in Fahranur. Which reminds me of something similar that happened later in PoF with Rytlock freeing a rogue God as well and dooming the world. But that's a different story.
  2. We know that Elder Dragons and Gods can absorb eachother's magic and enhance their powers by doing so.So how in the world did Kormir actually absorb Abaddon's magic and become a God? I mean she was just a mortal human with no speacialities whatsoever. I know aurene isn't an Elder dragon or a God as well but she was on a whole different level than Kormir. Kormir was not gifted in any way that it could be so easy for her to just become a God and even absorb another God's magic. That would mean the whole theory is mistaken and everyone in Tyria, even a Dolyak, could absorb the magic of dragons and gods and so ascend to be one of them. Also why Kormir, why her and not anyone else who may have fit much more into this role. For example the player character in gw1 has far more capabilities of such role as they already have experience with such matters regarding the whole journey (like the Ascension part in Augury Rock or the part where a Seer infused their armor to defy the Mursaat's Spectral Agony abilities) they had to make in Prophecies in order to face the Lich Lord. So why in the world it had to be Kormir? What made her special and even capable in any way? Would she just burst into none existence by this huge amount of power? How can a mortal even handle this and how do you just become a God within seconds? This seems all so odd to me and when I actually played through the story I was really thrown off by the whole thing like it was all rushed. You don't just absorb powers of a God as a mortal and poof "I'm a God now".I just remembered how odd this part of the story was as I played the latest living world episode and saw how Aurene was instantly brought back to life. It reminded me of how rushed the whole Kormir becoming a God thing was in Nightfall. So I made this discussion in hope to find answers and others who are just as confused as me.
  3. Thanks, good to know. My concern raised as I've seen people complaining about something Arenanet had adverstised from a Youtuber who made a guide for the Skyscale like "...he can buy everything because he's rich..." or "...he probably completed the collections already because Arenanet favors certain players than the rest just like they did with when ´there were disconnects but streamers didn't seem to have any trouble at all or when wvW was full but streamers got in without queues anyways..."This did upset me quite much because I don't know if there are actually fabored players which the Devs give early access to. I could only start the third collection today as I couldn't even do collection one at day one due to having an appointment the next day for which I had to hit the bed earlier than usual causing me to only finish the story and map exploring for 2 and a half hours since the release was 6 PM my time. I was afraid that I would be much more behind of the majority of the playerbase due to this time problem. I hate it when everyone is far more ahead of me and show off stuff which in return make me feel like I'm bad even if I'm a veteran. I always want to impress and be looked at as every other veteran too even if I'm not actively particpating in stuff like raids anymore since wing 2 came out and the guild from that time becoming inactive and later leaving the game for good. Maybe it's all just my anxiety causing me too much trouble there but I always fear of being judged or that everyone watches my every step just to tell me I'm not 100% perfect and bad at everything. That's why I try to always show off the newest, shiniest and most prestiege stuff like everyone else does. Just as a side note...
  4. At this point the you can sure say that "War Eternal" is more like "Timegating Eternal". Actually the collections and timgating didn't bother me that much but now having a collection which is timegated within a timegate I begin to think if this might be a bit too chaotic evil. I guess all we can do now is making memes out of this situation to compensate the pain.
  5. Is this intended that I can only feed 3 pieces of Skyscale food or is this a bug?I've done everything in the collection for now including treats and toys but there's one sub collection currently stalling as I can't seem to feed it more than 3 pieces for now. I know it says in the collection that you can only feed it 3 per day. But why are there players who already completed the entire collection if the feeding is timegated as well? I've heard that some were saying that they finished it and are now waiting for collection 4 to unlock. How is this possible then?Just something that bothers me.Anyways, I hope everyone's enjoying the new content despite the outrage and that all of you have a nice day/evening/whatever. PS: please keep this thread peaceful and be kind to eachother. I know you're upset about the timegated stuff but keep in mind that it's just a game and that you don't have to do it if you don't want.
  6. You don't need 22 grow lamps, you only need one. Aww damn that's quite good news as this was starting to bother me the most now. Good to know that there's still hope. Didn't expect the timegate within a timegate. I thought the collection things were actually nice until I cam across this information. Thanks for the response.
  7. Yikes... the news about the grow lamp is really sky shattering. Does anyone know how many you need so I can get them in advance before the price goes up to 100g. It's already 44g and you need 22 as far as I heard and I want to know if that is truly correct or a mistake.
  8. Pitching in pretty late but I wanted to say this after giving it all some thought:The only logically explanation for the timegating is the fact that you're literally hatching your mount from an egg and then raise it. It would make sense since collection one lets you collect eggs (which Gorrik probably uses for study and gifts you one of his subjects later on) and collection two lets you infuse your egg with the magics of the world (which I think we had way back before. I can't quite remember which collection but we had to infuse an egg too with magic. I think it was the raven egg from the Nevermore collection but I'm not sure aymore since it's been long that I've crafted it already.) so the hatchling would grow powerful. The next collections are about feeding, raising and teaching your Skyscale. In these collections you actually bond with your mount which makes it more than just a mount. It makes your Skyscale your friend. It's pretty realistic that an egg isn't hatching in minutes so that's why there's a wait. Allthough it would take much longer for the egg to hatch in reality than just one day. You wouldn't force your newborn child to grow up within a day too, would you?I get it, the wait is a bit frustrating but maybe ArenaNet gave some thought about previous collections and how they wanted to make this mount special. As they've said in the announcement stream for PoF: "...your mount isn't just a creature you're riding around. It's your friend you take on this journey..." Personally I like the concept of your mount sharing a bond with you and the idea of slowly building up your relationship with the Skyscale but the timegating sure is a huge downer. It was probably an idea ArenaNet had that looked great in theory but would prove to be bad in practice in the end. Anyways, I hope everyone is having a nice day and enjoys the new content despite of all the negativities.
  9. When I participated in the event today's night there wasn't a clone of my character to be found but I still got the achievement anyways. Maybe it's just poorly articulated in the hints and you only need to defeat Josso Essher. I found myself having more trouble with the one thing for "Skyscale of Fear" since the event at the acedemy didn't give me credit multiple times even for bursting enough damage because there were over 50 people around at the same time who spammed these stupid necro wells from their useless staffs and other AoE stuff.
  10. Of course you have, why wouldn't you? Each episode is for free until another arrives so make sure to grab it in time (aside from living world season 2, season 3 and all the previous episodes from season 4 that were released before "War Eternal" which are older by now and can only be bought through the TP).Alltough, I hope you have fun with the content. Don't rush and make sure to enjoy it. :)
  11. Actually for the WvW part I was referring to mostly Soulbeasts due to the survivalbility you get from merging with pets, I guess. In WvW you don't need a "healer" in zergs, just support and that is the guardian's (usually firebrand) job by spreading boons like stability, protection etc. and heals across each subgroup. That's why every subgroup should have at least one guard. But that isn't the point here. I was just wondering about the part if druids are still fine in raids as (like I said) planned to maybe get back to it again. My experiences and styles vastly differ between WvW and PvE and when it comes to PvE I'm most comfortable with either tanks or healers. In WvW I'm fine with the other roles such as damage or support. (That's why I main warrior or guard in this mode while in PvE I'm specialized in three other classes which can sometimes change depending on usage)
  12. Good to know, thanks.I nearly thought it would have become unplayable after the latest patch and even more a reason to label ranger (no matter if any elite spec or not) as a noob class. Allthough I see quite a lot of them in WvW roaming and let me tell you, these are definitely not new players as they manage to split zergs with 15+ people apart.Anyways, so it's still safe to use Druid for the healer role, right? I don't like switching to firebrand for example as this is the class I'm more focused on in WvW while PvE is a whole different story there. Just wanted to know about this since I might plan to come back to raids after a long break maybe soon and I've always had the healer role before with which I'm most comfortable with. Had a break since my last group disbanded and became inactive since the release of wing 2.
  13. Just wanted to know if Druid became useless and is now replaced by a different and better healer to prove someone I have an argument with something. What are your thoughts? Will Druids be kicked now from groups because they became useless? Is any other class outperforming Druid now? Is it time for Druids to switch to a different and more efficient class? How's the reputation? Etc etc etc
  14. Isn't this what Super Adventure Box was about? Beating your way up with nothing but a stick. I know you can upgrade to a different weapon, bombs, a slinghot, a boomerang, a whip wtc. but the first ever playthrough of SAB is always just a stick.
  15. Almost forgot to bump this for this month. So if there's anyone, any group or guild who's interested please tell me so.I'd preferably be looking for a LGBTQ+ friendly/oriented guild when it comes to that even though everyone's still welcome. It'd be just a nice thing for me as I've gladly like to meet more people within the LGBTQ+ community but it's not required of course. Also, I'd like to maybe getting back to raids again after leaving them with the release of wing 2 when the people of my previous raiding group became inactive in general and didn't seem to come back after all after we all disbanded.
  16. Isn't Ritualist more fitting for Revenant as they're both very similar?Allthough I highly doubt from what I've heard some long time ago about a return to Cantha I still hope that in the end they think it through and make it possible. </3
  17. Done, you can add me back: Hunter#9090Allthough I don't actually talk that much or rarely in any voice chat related things.
  18. Still there and I might want to add another detail I haven't mentioned in the original post and I think that it's a good time to say it now since there are plenty of new people joining the WvW community recently. So if there's also someone looking forward for some WvW stuff feel free to come and ask. I don't care if you're new or anything. The only thing that matters here is that I'm on Abaddon's Mouth, so if you're also there feel free to leave a message.
  19. In the news of the recent events I just wanted to add this:It's truly sad seing all these people go who worked so hard and passionated on both gw1 and gw2. I hereby want to say my farewells and I wish everyone the best of luck for the future.
  20. I just wanted to say my thanks to Arenanet for making this game.It must be hard work to make and maintain such a massive world and I wanted to show my appreciation. GW2 is one of the examples why games can be considered as art. It has always been a big inspiration to me and also helped me through some tough times. As an artistic person myself I draw quite some big inspiration from the game into my own works such as music, writing and drawing. The artwork has always fascinated me and the soundtrack has even moved me to tears quite often. The story and lore have also always been one of my favorite things. Especially how the main story was told by the combination of artwork and music instead of a regular cutscene are truly unique and one of the things that make this game special. The world design is also a favorite of mine as well as the creature design (even if some creatures and areas looked better in gw1 in my opinion). I find myself sitting on a nice spot and just enjoying the view and the ambience quite often. The landscapes even tell stories on their own and there are a lot of tiny details here and there like for example the exotic foods on the tables in Amnoon or the carved wooden structures in Hoelbrak. Every detail fits into each setting so well and you can tell where the insirations for each theme came from. Overall the world feels "alive" and "believable". You can also see how everything aged over the years from map details such as primary resurrection shrines like the once you can see quite good in the Desolation map or the ruins of Ascalon. You can even tell from these datails the events of the books like for example the bounty in Crystal Oasis for Chief Kronon or notable landmarks like Malchor's Fingertips. It all fits and flows well into the world. These are all just few examples from the total of a ton. Another thing that is a big favorite of mine is the sound design. The way you can hear if something is coming from behind you or from the left or from the right makes the experience even more immersive. All sounds from the chirping of birds, to the rushing of water, the thundering of war, the bioling of lava and the roar of a dragon. It all feels unique and real. Perhaps the sound design is one of my three all time favorites ever because that one of the very first things I noticed when I started playing years ago.Thank you for your dedication and work!
  21. Someone from the playerbase creating content to improve the game instead of the actual dev team doing something for it? What is this? Bethesda? Is GW2 becoming the next Skyrim now? Hell no...I's really wish they look into this and update this game officially as I'm afraid trying it out will get me banned or anything.
  22. Very hard to say actually because I'd have loved to pick two more options beside the technical stuff (would love it if the game would run as smoothly as promised on newer hardware but after the PoF release the fps seemed to have dropped overall from what I've heard and experienced. These problems are related to the engine so why not update it a bit so the game can handle more and runs on better optimisations) like a new playable race and some old content brought back. (I don't care about bringing gliders and mounts into old worlds and think it would be even better without them just to relieve the feeling again of before the expansions without having everything made easier by these travelling mechanics)My only hope is that we'll get to see Cantha again. A return to Cantha alone would be my number one selling point </3(Failure conditions for missions would be great too even if sometimes they could get annoying but it makes you actually plan before rushing in headless and yolo everything)
