  1. Hopefully a return to Cantha in an expansion <3
  2. Yes please! Also other emotes like /sleep would be great.
  3. Please, the game can't even run on high end machines properly then how the hell will it run on phones?!But a spinoff thing kinda like heartstone would sound nice, to be honest. But not just the game itself.
  4. I don't know. I would say pick whatever is the most fun to you or with whatever you're feeling safe with. It's not wrong to try different professions from time to time to see how differently they'll work on different contents/bosses. But necromancer (especially reaper) is a good option for the start as you can easily solo champions with it and hardly go in downstate even as a glascannon build. At least that's from my experience. Mesmer tended to be great on easily soloing group content as well before it got slightly nerfed but I think it should be still fine once you know how to get around the nerfed clones. But be warned, mesmer is not the easiest to begin with. I'd suggest trying out as many professions, builds and combinations as you like. Another imprtant tip that I could give is tht for champions you might consider bringing professions which are CC (crowd control) heavy as depleting the breakbar makes stuff a lot easier. You can read here about crowd control: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Control_effect Good luck and have fun!
  5. In my opinion ArenaNet should get rid of NCSoft and make a partnership/deal with another company which is much fairer in this case. If all things go down I'd even say they should be bought by Blizzard even though that isn't the nicest company either but at least they're more stabilized in revenue matters so they won't have to rely on one studio making the money for them.
  6. Nah, PvP has become too toxic for my taste as you're more reporting players than actually playing. Participated in a few leagues but that was long ago before that system gor revamped and things like chest rewards were changed. For fractals, I can say that i hardly ever do them as I hate pugging and do them always alone. For "Envoys Herald" I first need to get back into raiding (which is actually happening) after my previous static group became inaactive and disbanded with the release of w2. "Acolyte of Dwayna" is doable but very expensive to be honest. "I'm rich you know" isn't even worth the 1k gold to put into as it only gives 5 AP aside from the title. If it was 50 AP I'd reconsider it however. "Kegmaster" is also doable but it's wortless actually since it's not requiring any skill. "Exhalted Achiever" isn't prestige as well as there are people who already got past 40k AP which is an achievement. However I feel that you're only worth something once you have 35k AP.
  7. Thanks, everyone. <3I'll consider this and try to be an example and try to offer my help. It's just sad that some say that "It's not even worth hanging around new players" or "consider offering them help". But I guess not everyone is like that in the end. I remember when I came back from the break I mentioned earlier with almost no idea what to do because I completely forgot about the game so I had to re-learn. You know what everyone in that guild I was in to that time did when I was asking for help on picking up on everything again: They only redirected me to the wiki, the lfg, dulfy etc. despite being a guild. It was pretty horrible because the only thing they did together was one of those PvP evenings and aside from that everyone was being an asshole towards eachother and there was even a "rent system" where each member had to pay like 5 or 10g per month. But all of that was a different story. I do however have a different and more pleasent memory as well of my time re-learning: I was trying to level a character and while doing so someone randomly joined me and took me on some kind of leveling spree. I remember it being a lot of fun actually running around maps, doing events, tasks etc. It was one of the nice momories I have.Alright but long story short: These were only a few things I wanted to share because I felt like it.There may be "bad" ones but I guess and hope that not the majority of the community is like that by now. A lot has changed since HoT and PoF were released and in this time span with stuff like raids being introduced the player mindsets have also changed and I fear the toxicity might have increased in some ways. What was toxic atmosphere in dungeons once is now happening in fractals and raids (and even open PvE due to some people always yelling at others if events fail). The thread might have been derailed at this point but I see that there was a hidden purpose in my concern as this can be the case often.I hope that we can all learn from eachother and live together peacefully without harrassing others for their playstyle or whatever else it is. That behaviour should stay in PvP, if I'm honest.Thank you again for your thoughts and for the conversation.I wish everyone a great day (or whatever time it is where you are)!
  8. Haha good one ^^Almost haven't thought about this. Yes, I'm aware of this but I've seen almost everyone running around with it lately. It's much more these days than before. Is anything currently happening in gw1 I'm not awre of which increases the chances of getting that title/or made things easier? Currently not able to check the situation. Well, those are actually no problem at all. There are raid bosses that are much more a problem and even raids are too easy. Alright, just to clear this up: I'm highly insecure about myself and I fear that this behaviour is somehow transported from rl into playing games as well. The main focus here is actually me trying to show off so that I don't have to feel anxious and paranoid around everyone. Like all other veterans I want to be taken seriously and not to be considered useless. I want to prove everyone that I've been there since 2012 (Even if it's spread between two accounts of which I had lost the original due to losing login informations during a long break after I got back in September 2015 with this current one) and know everything! I'm always afraid of what people think of me and I feel the need to perform 100% without any mistake at everything and that everyone watches every little step I take so if I make a single small mistake I'll be discredited from my status and be called "just as worthless as someone who just started" even if it's not the case. I'm tired of that I can't "enjoy" the game anymore and have to prove myself every time. Is that so? Do you all observe everyone else and insult them for mistakes or laugh at them? I just can't get over this anymore and I feel the need to discourage every new player whenever I see one just like all other fellow veterans do and i hate it, if i'm honest. Why can't people just be nice to eachother and leave each one alone these days? Why has the community become so toxic and why is it only about showing off? Does one need to be an utterly kitten to show they're a veteran these days?
  9. Just curious about if it's even considered an achievement anymore or if this is easy content that almost everyone has done by now given by the statistics that 13,043 of 219,483 (5.978%) unlocked it. Feeling kind of discouraged to even use that title after I aquired it way before the current festival since I have the feeling that it's too easy to get. Feeling the same way about other things like legendaries or the skyscale and even raid clears by now. But that's a different story however. What are your opinions on this matter? Is there any "hard" content left these days? Even "God Amongst Mere Mortals" is so common by now that I literally see everyone running around with it. Edit: added the %)
  10. I really hope for it to be available through stazues again soon because I saved up for it for quite a while now and now I'm sitting at 100 of these statues because last time it was available I haven't had 50. Would lve to see it coming back soon so I can focus on deciding and saving for the next thing.
  11. In my opinion MMOs aren't made for consoles and should stay on PC. One reason is controls: a keyboard have much more "buttons" than controllers and can have a vast variety of keybindings. It simply won't work from a control design of perspective. And in case anyone's coming with FFXIV or ESO now: these doesn't have as much keybindings as respectable games like GW2 or WoW. Another reason is that you have to pay extra for online stuff on consoles these days. Why pay for something you can get for free on a system that outperforms any console in lenghts? Don't get me wrong, I don't hate consoles. I do in fact own a few but this whole online stuff in my opinion is getting out of hand. For me playing on console is mainly focusing on singleplayer or or when it comes to more than one players that type where you have everyone actually beside you. Maybe it's because I grew up with old console generations. But to get back to the actual topic: I think there are more pressing matters at hand than a console port like for example a performance and engine overhaul so the game supports DX12 without a "mod" one of the players created. And see? That's another point why it won't work on consoles because it can't run properly on any PC. Why would it work on a console that is much weaker than a PC then?
  12. Alright, just being curious in case I missed something: Did ArenaNet actually made an official statement on Gem Cards and their disappearance already? As far as I heard it must be an issue with a blacklisted distributor but that's more of a rumor to be honest.
  13. This is always happening to me in the instance right after character creation which is pretty annoying every week when trying to Keyfarm. Hope this gets adressed some time soon.
  14. Lol where do you live? Sorry, but you make your life complicated. What if you travel without a credit card? It's nigh impossible these days... Ever heard that you spend more money than you actually have with a credit card? The control you have over your own economy is much more getting out of hand if you're not paying with something you can actually touch. That being said aside from the fact that this method proved to be a lot more unsafe than everything else.I prefer to have control over my income and what I spend instead of throwing amounts of money into the fire . Despite the fact that I never traveled or will never travel because I'm too broke for that anyways. And since Euro is shared throughout the European continent in various countries I don't need to exchange my currency all the time thanks to the "state" known as the European Union.
  15. Not only Australia but here in Germany as well. Was pretty upset about it since I don't do online banking, don't have a credit card or use stuff like paypal. About Paysafecard I don't know anything but I considered this an option.
  16. Maybe these are the same shrooms as in the ??? area from Jahai Bluffs https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Unknown_(Jahai_Bluffs)
  17. There can only be one weapon that every profession needs. A gun! You get a gun! You get a gun and YOU get a gun! ALL get a gun!Jokes aside, I think hammer could work pretty good as I already got some kind of idea for a specialisation called the "Punisher". Also I'd like to see more usage of hammers and I have hopes for hammer since it's pretty trash for all overall professions (just like longbow is trash for all professions except for condi ps berserker which isn't used anymore) which is sad because of the potential it has and some cool skins. Staff suffers from that issue as well beside lb and hammer and it makes me sad having crafted Nevermore and only using it as a heal druid or frontline guard in wvw when it could have so much potential for necromancers as well if these useless mark were removed.
  18. A Rathalos would be neat but Capcom and ArenaNet will never agree to one another for such crossover. On the other hand it would be kinda weird if a monster from the Monster Hunter franchise would appear in Tyria.
  19. I used to play that mode quite often earlier and even took part in several league seasons but the envoromnent became too toxic for me. People tell others stuff that goes way too far these days. And aside from the insults the gold sellers are somehow worse there. Haven't gotten any gold seller message in PvE in like a year now and that's quite impressive. In PvP you'll get a whisper like every 5 minutes from them. Also it's not enjoyable for me anymore as I tend to focus on other things and pay attention to real life matters now.
  20. As someone who experience a time even before gliders were a thing (and then could only be used in HoT areas when they were a thing) I'd say that I find a special day or weekend event removing mounts and gliders and going back to the core feeling of the game pretty interesting. However both tools opened a whole new level of exploring to the world and made stuff like 100% exploring a bit easier for some. Good thing 100% WvW exploration isn't required anymore. A lot of new players would be farmed then ;)It's almost like if you'd remove cars or vehicles from real life. They're not needed but they make our life easier. And so do gliders and mounts in the game.
  21. I did read Edge of Destiny and I'm currently still on Sea of Sorrows (Didn't have enough time or motivation to read the past year though). i plan to read Ghosts of Ascalon as well (which i actually wanted to get instead of SoS) but unfortunately as I tried to have it ordered by my bookstore it was not available. I do hope however toget that one as well. In my opinion they are quite a great addition to the lore and I can imagine these actually like a film. The end of Edge of Destiny almost brought me to tears and this happens rarely to me. I have no biased opinion on each book actually and enjoy/enjoyed everything so far. I love lore and when I can get more information about lore I consume it entirely lol. ^^I'd definitely recommend reading them if you love the lore of the game!
  22. Allthough I still think VR isN't actually too well developed now and should need 10+ more years so it can actually be a great thing I think MMOs will never work in the favor of such technology. After all this is not SAO.
  23. Depending on the characteras each character has different names for their mount friends and most have a backstory to their mounts. One naming example I could share is from my charr guardian (one of my two charr guards actually) who's also one of my two charrsonas. His raptor is named Geist (which is German for "Ghost" referring to the Foefire influence on the mount), Springer is called Steinbock (German for "ibex/capricorn" due to the goat skin), skimmer is Ray, jackal is named Vulpeca, griffon is called Nashira (Named after one of the stars of the Capricornus star constellation), the beetle stayed at Petey, Warclaw is named Irontooth and the skyscale goes by Aurellia.I made a post about that some time as well allthough there are only the base game mounts due to the fact that the post was made long before we got additional mounts.https://is-it-because-im-charr.tumblr.com/post/174061958338/the-mounts-of-my-other-charrsona-geist Specificially for the Skyscale my naming plans were Aurellia (female) and Aureus (male) in honor and tribute to Aurene.Funfact: During the PoF beta I came up with names for the 4 base mounts already. They were Jack (raptor), Skippy (springer), Ray (skimmer) and Anubis (jackal).
