Snowcrows is trash because they think META is a real thing and they think there is a best build there is not there is just best at not best build

Please give a list of what you have provided this community to qualify your comments that people doing all the hard work are "trash".

No I did some playing around with a build and found that a mix of trailblazers (pure condi gear) and Vipers the hybred stuff should be ok. With the gear being trailblazers and weapons and trinkets being vipers, along with malice and bursting sigils, and the nightmare runes I can hit the 100% duration. With fury I get a 53% crit chance which I agree is not great but it is better than a 0 I guess. The damage out is a 368 point difference. I do lose the 10% extra on the crits but I can live with that I think.

Snowcrows Is trash it is just ppl looking for the big numbers they do not take other effects into account, like what is needed for some effects like vitality for a higher barrier because it is based off your HP not a scourges. These things are all important and most ppl just throw the baby out with the bathwater for the biggest amount of damage they can generate. I have always said that if you are dead your DPS is 0. However most ppl would take a small period of time to make a burst do damage and die and not care that they were the ones that dropped DPS while someone else with a little more HP or toughness kept up the damage and maybe beet the boss.

Well, yes, but since they're going to now release a 3rd elite spec, it's going to get much, much worse.

So I'm asking if they plan to mitigate this in any way.

    Why would they?

They purposefully delivered a system that milks the most dedicated players of the game and maintains the value of a new Character Slot.

The system is absolutely working as intended.

If you calculate all the power and all the precision stats  that you get from Viper gear it is the exact same that you get from Zerker gear, also if you add up all the condi and expertise stats they are the exact same that you would get from say trailblazers.

Which makes Vipers the best option for Condi Damage until the condition duration cap.

I feel bad, because I always feel bad, anti consumer practices in general make me feel bad on top of that. I not invested in GW2 enough to care about the tour in this particular case. It’s called a hypothetical that others can feel

Anet showed off the game to a bunch of people they knew would put up videos and articles to hype the game a few days before launch of the Expac.

Seems like a step in the right direction for a company that has historically struggled to market it's product in an effective non-cringe inducing manner.

Please explain how this is anti-consumer.

Feels bad, I hate early access, even if it’s a tour and only that, why would we not get equal treatment? I like many pre-ordered EOD, why would we not get access to said tour? Not saying I would personally care, but I know many do.

If you didn't care you wouldn't feel bad.

Im giving my opinion, not insulting anyone. You can always spam the confusing emojis to show dissaproval or just (annoy). And my opinion is that i cannot say i want a refound or im glad i preordered since i havent even touched the product. So i can just talk about whats the game right now.

Like it or not that is what i have been doing in this and the other post. Some people dont want you to post something that is not extremly positivity, which i think its not letting other express themselfs. So yes, let me post my thoughts on things, since im free to do it, and ive paid for every single product.

    You do you.

It will help you not to die as much, not to kill it faster (it is called Vitality). And its not only about world bosses, what about story, instanced content?

Yeah give everyone 100k HP, cos its not a big deal 😂. Lets see when we get Power, Condi dmg, Toughness stats etc...

Love how people need to defend everything at all cost. It is a powercreep from an objective perspective, even if its not that impactful for you.

I agree with you that the power creep is savage and potentially very damaging to the game but you are not expressing yourself in a manner or location on this topic that will engender any kind of actual discussion.

Try a thread on the topic and not insulting the OP.
Ultimately you do discussion on this topic a disservice by bringing it up here in this manner.

In games if something new is added as an item to motivate people to play the game for more time, it usually is bought with a new currency because there are players who have farmed and hoarded the existing currencies.

But in games I've seen decaying currency. It has a half-life mechanic where half of it dissipates every day so it can't be hoarded and slept on. That way the game can release new items and still use that currency as it means people still need to get that new currency once the new items are revealed and released.

I play warframe and it uses argon crystals as a material for old and new items alike and players still regularly do missions to acquire argon even after playing for years, because they can't farm it and sit on it. It has to be gotten around when it's needed.

I really like the mechanic of a decaying currency because it cuts down on currency bloat in games and can get people to go back and do something later on.

Each land region could have a spirit of 'region name' currency. And new consumable items could be released that use these currencies. So if someone wants to get the items they'll do stuff in that region to get the 'spirit currency' because it has to be acquired when it is needed. I think it would be a nice way to make all the zones valuable without relying on a resource subject to inflation.

edit: Just needed to point out it's to get people to earn a resource as it is needed and used once it is earned. Designed specifically to not reward people who overindulge and hoard, because that type of behaviour devalues the resource. I can't argue with people who don't like it. It's interesting to know everyone vehemently hates it. 😂

There;s gainful employment waiting for you at EA.

On these forums we see a lot of people crib ideas from other games and say "wouldn't it be nice if..."

This is the first time I have seen a blatantly predatory design choice, favored by mobile game and cash grab devs, be so positively positioned.

Does anyone else remember gaming before brainwashed players actively suggested ideas to developers to bend us over and paint them as a benefit?

    Good times.

  10. "does next to nothing"
    "just for fun"
    "novelty"
This game has plenty of novelty items available before 80 is this is your real concern.

I've met a lot of people along the way since mounts, and that is their biggest complaint I've noticed is all.

The biggest complaint from new players is that they don't have a novelty mount that does next to nothing, just for fun?

    :doubt:

Anyway: the point of GW2 -- which die-hards at release would always harp on about when the game was criticised for being awful and devoid of anything meaningful to so -- was meant to be that you play it however you want to play it. Action Cam, clicking skills, whatever. You aren't forced to bind macros and meet rotation requirements.

The generally accepted rule around is here that as soon as someone purposefully misquotes "play how you want" that all productive conversation has ended.

Perhaps this has been done to death but I've been prepping characters for EoD and gah. I love so many weapon skins that have such vivid color schemes that don't go with any of my armor configs!

Isn't the solution to dye the armor to match the weapon?

I mean your suggestion is great and all and I would love to see it. I'm reminded of City of Heroes, where we were told for years and years that th power particle effects were not dyeable until one dev coded the whole system and did all the dirty work for it in his spare time.

I would love to see dyavke weapons... or at the VERY least tintable effects on legendary weapons.

But the soltion to the fashion wars is already there and I gotta think there are better low hanging fruit.

I'm well aware that most people will avoid CM strikes. That's why i specifically want Anet to publish the data on people who 1) Never Raided then 2) Did the new strikes and CM strikes to get their first LI and then finally 3) Decided that because they have LI they're inclined to actually go raid and 4) Create Legendary armor.

I'm 99.99% certain the number of people that fit that very small crowd are actually smaller than the alleged target audience of the very raids they actively bemoan.

And those people arent allowed to have any content?

but it would lower the bar for someone like me who loves the game but has never been comfortable buying digital goods to make the leap.

I fail to understand why Anet would value a customer who plays this game and doesn't engage with it on a financial level.

This whole idea of being "uncomfortable buying digital goods" in current year?
In an MMO why's life's blood is mtx?

This is clearly a bad faith argument for "free stuff".

I mean they pretty much confirmed that the strike missions in EoD will allow you to get an additional 40 mystic coins a month. That means you can get roughly 60 coins a month casually. And since they’ve essentially doubled the coin output in the economy, in theory they will be less valuable and more affordable so if you need them, just buy them.

You will have a large number of people that will dispute the "casual" label for anything other than a path of acquisition via login rewards.

Thing is, I'm not buying gems right now.  Also I didn't say super rare just rare.  I was thinking like 50gems at a time up to 250 a month.  Maybe they could also be a rare drop off of open world elites as well as skritt burglars.  Maybe I'm wrong but something like that would convert me from a non buyer to a buyer.  It might work for others as well.

So you're not buying gems and engaging in the systems that keep the lights on.
...and you believe the solution is to give you free mtx currency..
