Knight.6914's Achievements

  1. I like "oneshoot" difficult achievements, or collections that have some lore behind and not just "go here, fetch that". But this kind of achievements based in doing the same exact thing over, and over, and over, with such high numbers that actually require you to farm... Almost as bad as the "pay for achievement" ones. That's more on the old GW1 achievement system, which actually GW2 improved, until recently.
  2. Something is wrong when I look at the latest releases and old expansions or even GW1. It saddens me to see storytelling and atmosphere are not as good as before... I can't tell, but I miss it.
  3. A library to store all the books, notes, letters, journals and lore earned through story, events and achievements.
  4. Upgrade game as much as you want, either free or through expansions. I'll happily buy them if they improve my experience or do add something. But please don't, I say don't, ever do GW3.
  5. I may have one pretty stupid: allow the option to "manually" recharge mantras while out of combat in PvE. May sound wrong, but I liked the theme of preparing mantras with all that animation and sounds. Felt special and thematic. And two requests I miss. First, a library. Maybe at home instance. And the possibility to recover and save every book we've come across (specially title and collections ones). And last, a tome of tomes, maybe not instant but a short animation like a portal or floating book (like the old books from guardian).
  6. I am, and one of the things I most regret in my videogame-life is not being present half the time of LS1 arc. I felt relieved when I could play it, though I know nothing would compare to the feeling you could get back at 2014, as world developed. I've played GW2 since the beginning, sometimes with "hardcore playing" sessions of many hours a day for weeks, sometimes more casual (depending on other games and of course real life matters and interests). And I have the need to disconnect from time to time, sometimes weeks, sometimes more than six months or even a whole year. But somehow, I always return, and enjoy the game again for months, before taking another break. And GW2 semi-casual design suits me very well for that. I don't feel the pressure to come back, so I actually do it because I want to enjoy it, and I don't feel the pressure to let it go, because, rather than losing interest in GW2, there are other things that in that exact moment are more attractive so I stop playing. Seems pretty healthy to me, for a MMO.
  7. I hope they make clear when the "time limit" to be elegible for rune "compensation" is for people like me who are crafting them, and that they block rift hunting when a meta is active in a map (saves maybe the SotO ones). Some QoL changes, long and wide suggested in forums, would be nice, too. And the skill balancing (a.k.a. nerfs) scares me, like always... But above everything else, I hope this is just the prologue for a brand new arc with at least the same narrative quality of long past stories, I feel the world and story building has decayed a lot since IBS, and EotD was anticlimatic. I'd like more of the fantasy woe of the beginning, and less real life matters. More world building and myth/legend and less of a soap opera. Will we visit the Mists Nightfall style someday? Anyway, I will still enjoy and bet for this game. After ten years. I hope it improves and this new funding design works. Looking forward to see the next update.
  8. I rarely write on forums, but this thread catched my eye. I have to second almost fully what ShadowKatt.6740 said (and interesting references to non formal fallacies). I'm really fed up with the need of feeling self reflected everywhere, now on games too and represent every part of the current times in a free time activity I wish to enjoy as a diversion of those very current times. And as a part of a "minority" (or no so minor nowadays it seems), I do not want any privilege, overvisibility, or anything for things I have not chosen to be or to have. I just want to be like anybody else, which I blissfully am, and keep my circumstances for myself or my loved/relative ones. No hiding, ever, but definitely no need to self-tag everywhere, and specially, no right for other people to speak in my name just for sharing that particular circumstance which makes them a "minority", to push their own agendas or intentions. And I've been playing videogames since I was six, to have fun and even to learn. What I look in GW2 is to have fun, enjoy a story, meet people, doing challenges and let time pass over the free time I have. And I demand more on that. I don't seek some kind of reaffirmation or compassion, that's not why I'm playing for, and that's not where I want devs to put their talent. It's surprising how many threads on things like this one are around, as if a forum of politics would be. And BTW, I also have blue-eyed heterochromia, something no one needs to know or cares, but I'd never, ever, imagine someone would consider that needed to be represented in a game or a reason to feel special. In fact, I'd never give it any importance (apart from the curiosity).
  9. Necroing this thread a bit, rather than starting a new one with the same topic. Do we have any update about when they're calculating the so said "compensation"? I was midway to craft several legendary runes (for QoL) and want to know if it's worth ending with that matter in terms of compensation, i.e. that I will be elegible for it when legendary relic kicks in. This is not about if it's worth or not to craft them in the first place. Thank you.
  10. Some minor spoilers ahead: During a quest in Seitung province, you have to protect toxicologist Yon from a giant pink spider, in some caves (right next to the story aetherblade refuge where Mai Trin is). It happened to me that if the spider catches you while you are using a tome (virtue book as a firebrand), you can still use them while being cought, until you lose all your pages. Once you leave tome skill, you don't have the skill needed to break CC, so you end up dying. I wonder if this bug is known and if you can replicate this bug.
  11. Both your answers are interesting to consider. I'm no newbie in the game, to be honest, with more than 34k AP and all Raid achievements, but it has been a long time since I last played and the builds I used to play, meta, are mostly gone, or at least not that effective. Too many changes. And it feels rusty, like starting anew. As my main character I had every possible build for it, core at sPvP (after several nerfs), support FB at WvW (which I rarely play), hFB for CM fractals, cDPS FB and hFB for instanced content (strikes, fractals and raids) and pDH for everything, specially story and open world. And it pains me quite a bit that my most beloved class is in such a bad position (except for FB) and it's getting reworks (which makes me shiver). It also pains to see how FB is losing much of its "glamour" (tomes, mantras), even if that's just aesthetic. I think that the incredible hit on DPS on high end content might be what you just said: spirits and banners gone, but I don't know if that explains the fall of like 6k DPS or more at pDH builds. For what I've read, it seems Guardian (specially pDH) was in a bad place before (right before 2017) and then improved, so that might be the case. It's nice to see at least that dev team is interested on balancing underrated professions, although that means losing some of the "unique feel" some of them have. Thank you.
  12. Hello, I've been missing for more than a year in game and I'm not the active kind in forums, but like a good ol' movie you just have to watch again I recently came back to GW2, only to realize plenty of changes were made (one of the most impactful for me was the beloved LS1 and the mystic coin sink). Nonetheless, one of the changes that most concerns me is the apparent nerf to all guardian builds. I checked that they're mostly gone from SnowCrows and many posts here talk about DH demise. Even with the new spec. And I first noticed this when I pretended to play my builds like before and checking they were failing somehow. And now it seems more nerfs are coming to the only viable builds. Besides, it seems to be banished from sPvP. Do you know what exactly happened to this profession? It's my main character, with more than 4,6k hours spent (like 60% compared to all other characters) and I'm worried about its health status. I'd also like to ask if this is some kind of "cyclic" pattern and I can expect it to be buffed in months, just like a nerf/buff pattern that has happened before. Thank you.
  13. Sorry to bump, but anyone else had this problem with this collection? Or any other for the case. If so, any idea about how to solve it or when it will get patched?
