  1. I don't think it was the removal of the team queue that killed the game but the neglect all around (Lack of diversity, balance, stale game mode, no punishment for afk's/throwers/cheaters/botters, slow to make changes/add new things, etc.). You can't have a competitive game where a team of five can farm randoms. There should have been a team queue and a solo queue and if they were going to implement leaderboards there should have been a separate one for each. Duo queue is the lesser of the two but still has its issues.
  2. Agree that the system is overly convoluted. As to clovers just do wvw and spvp. People that frequent those modes have 1000s of clovers. I think you overestimate how many clovers people have. A legendary weapon/accessory/backpiece requires 77 for the Gift of Fortune. Legendary armor requires 15 per piece or 90 for a full set. You get 7 clovers per non-repeatable reward track and 2 per repeatable one, if they aren't a holiday or dungeon track. At 2 per repeatable that's 39 reward track completions for 77 clovers (Enough for one Mystic Tribute for a non-armor piece legendary). Then it's 45 reward track completions for 90 clovers for a full set of legendary armor. Each reward track requires 20,000 points to complete. At 700 per win, it takes ~29 winning matches to complete a reward track. At 350 per loss, it takes 57 losing matches to complete a reward track. Most people will fall under the 50/50 average so, ~43 or so matches total to complete a reward track. Let's average 10 minutes per match:100% win rate ~ 4.8 hours per reward track completion100% lose rate ~ 9.5 hours per reward track completion50% win/lose rate ~ 7.1 hours per reward track completion Then the total completions needed for Armor / Other Legendary:Armor:100% win rate ~ 216 hours for enough clovers100% lose rate ~ 428 hours for enough clovers50% win/lose rate ~ 320 hours for enough clovers Other:100% win rate ~ 187 hours for enough clovers100% lose rate ~ 371 hours for enough clovers50% win/lose rate ~ 305 hours for enough clovers Now for runes/sigils:Runes: 20 per so a total of 120 for a single set. Based on the ratio's above, 48/95/71 hours per each rune.Sigils: 30 per but this depends on how many weapons you want to make sigils for. Based on the ratios above, 72/143/107 hours per each sigil. Yes, I am aware you can count first time reward tracks, which give seven per completion. PvP potions, which help speed this along and you can get a few daily, or boosters. In general, I doubt someone has enough boosters to push through that many reward tracks and once again this is based on the average time it would take. This is only for the Mystic Clovers...there are still plenty of other things to collect. Also, someone feel free to correct me on the numbers. I think I did it right but could have easily made a mistake somewhere.
  3. Yea, I don’t know what Anet is thinking at this point. Let’s look at runes/sigils for just one class/profession and at the more obnoxious items. Elementalist for example. 6 Runes for an armor set.120 Mystic Clovers300 Provisioner tokens6 Gifts of Might and Magic each300 Mystic Aspects 1 of each weapon type, I think that’s reasonable since your build changes your weapons/stats in many cases. Staff, Sword, Dagger (2), Scepter, Warhorn, Focus 7/8 Sigils - Staff takes 2 and if you want to run dual daggers you need an additional.210/240 Mystic Clovers350/400 Provisioner Tokens7/8 Gifts of Might and Magic each525/600 Mystic Motes Who even knows how ridiculous the Motes/Aspects will be when we can learn to craft them and not have to buy them. And this is just one for class/profession. I imagine people would at least want to do one set for heavy/medium/light. Another option would use shared inventory with an extractor. Then you can make fewer total. But then you have to constantly swap runes/sigils and keep backup exotic variants for when you pull them and don’t to swap them... I guess. Idk to me that seems a bit absurd for a “convenience” item that has no cosmetic or any other bonus attached to it.
  4. Looks like it's hitting a lot of people. Relogging didn't work, it just put me back in the rotation for the map and picked the same one. Someone else mentioned to come back in an hour or two.
  5. Careful they might delete your thread like they deleted mine, I posted the same thing and they didn't like it. Unfortunately it seems like they'd rather police their forums than their own game.
  6. So, are you a robot? What do you eat? Do you sleep? Or do you include yourself as part of the problem? Look at how toxic your post is when I posed a simple request. What does climbing silver to plat have anything to do with the overall health of this mode? At this point I would once again pin you as the toxic one here. Also, don’t you think it’s a problem if the game mode is so bad that only a single dev actually plays it? Don’t you think that’s telling of the state of the mode itself?
  7. No response? Guess your mode is broken after-all. ;)
  8. Hi, Can one of the devs on the Anet team please stream themselves playing a full season of PvP. Just the bare minimum of 120 games for the season should suffice. That way you can show all us crazy players that we are wrong. That your mode is in fact working as intended, matches are even and balanced and fun for all. And that the overall state of pvp is healthy. Thank you in advance.
  9. If this is because you don't have the expansion, then that is a different point entirely. Otherwise, it's an example of you not wanting to put in a bit of effort. This mount is one of the easier ones to acquire and this is coming from someone who doesn't like WvW that much. I needed another Gift of Battle, so I hopped in, joined a random commander, and after a few hours I had all but the reward track for the Warclaw done. The reward track is 8 hours without boosters and about 4 hours if you run the WvW track boosters (Guild, Heroic Boost, Birthday Boost, BLC Boost, etc). If you don't want to sit in WvW for 4-8 hours with max participation then you can also use the potions. It takes 80 potions to complete a reward track and you can get ~6 potions a day just by doing the dailies. So that can be done in two weeks if you just do those dailies. As far as keeping up with the zerg, just try to make yourself as mobile as possible. I was on ranger, so I stayed in SB and would use GS 3 + charge from the Gazelle off cooldown to try to keep up. It was a bit of a pain but I was able to be there for all the major events/fights. If you are on a more mobile class like Thief, Warrior, or Mirage with Mimic/Blink/Sword MH then you can probably keep up a bit better.
  10. The question is not if but when...they gave the same exact vague wording, "at a future planned build". You don't have to agree with me but I would like to know a general ballpark. That could be tomorrow, a month, 3 months, 6 months, a year...? I can't imagine the lines of code that already exist are that complicated to implement back in, so the vagueness is strange to me. For me it goes back to communication. If they intend to make me wait some months, half a year, or a year, just let me know and then I can go on about my way. Is it the end of the world? No, is it disappointing? Yes, it is. /shrug
  11. @"Cyninja.2954" I can't fathom your opinion here. You are blaming the playerbase for an issue that Anet created. You are actually telling people that they are trying to game the system and that they have no right to be upset, which is beyond ridiculous at this point. Let's take me for example. I raided with my guildies for wings 1-5, since raids were initially released. At some point life got busy AND I was getting a bit burned out from GW2, so I stopped raiding regularly with my static. I would still help out time to time if I was on and they needed an extra slot. So my playtime dwindled. When W6 released, I still cleared it along with W5. Just not every week. W7 I haven't done much but I have cleared the first two bosses. Back to the conversion. I saw that Anet introduced LD and with it the conversion of LI > LD. They made it clear this was an exchange limited in quantity and not time. There was also no use for LD at the time. With that information, I was going to wait for it to have a use because I trusted what Anet said. Now going by what you said, I may not have the perfect amount because I did not clear Dhuum the first week but I do believe I cleared it in the first month. Other bosses were cleared before that. So maybe I would truly be able to convert -140? Because I didn't full clear every week but enough. So, patch hits that lets us finish Coalescence and suddenly I find the exchange is removed, a reverse exchange has been put up...and neither made it into the patch notes. Only after posts hit reddit and the forums did Anet pipe up. And their response is pretty much a lie. You are going to tell me in a patch that releases a legendary that finally requires use of LD, you go ahead and remove the conversion that you stated would never get removed. You add in a reverse conversion because there really is no use for LD other than that ring. You forget to tell the playerbase about it beforehand, you forget to put it in the patch notes, and you forget to say anything after the patch and you state, "it wasn't intentional to not communicate?". I'm sorry how many lies are they going to double down on? They clearly didn't want players to have the ring on day 1 and so they removed it to extend the content by an arbitrary X amount of time. But the thing is this ONLY punishes the players that trusted Anet. Those that didn't listen to them and converted right away, didn't lose out...only those that once again listened to Anet. And that is the issue right there. Anet set expectations based on information they gave, they patched in LD, an item that literally only has use for one item that players have been waiting for, they gave an exchange for this item because it didn't make the original release date they wanted, they then ripped that away without thought or word. And their response after the fact just says, at a planned future release. That could literally be a year from now. Their entire handling of this situation is terrible, and they've made similar mistakes before yet they don't seem to learn. And why you defend them is beyond me. This sets a terrible precedent.
  12. See I don't understand your viewpoint. This is such a simple fix. They already had the code in there...they went ahead and "removed" it. Which unless I'm mistaken could mean that they just made the line of code inactive, rather than actually deleting it. They also have the reverse code in there currently LD > LI. Also, since this was a recent change the person(s) that worked on it still have it fresh in their mind, making it even easier to go back and adjust. In the grand scheme of things this is such a simple fix, the only thing they need to be careful with is that they don't mess things up when putting it back in. That's where the testing would come in. You act as if this is a huge undertaking... We've already waited what, a year now since the precursor was first introduced. Now for some odd reason those that trusted Anet's word, have to wait almost another 4 months just because they decided for some unknown reason to pull it? That makes no sense. And I personally don't want Coalescence to "Show Off", I want it for the stat swap and because I like how it looks. Me having it now after waiting this long does not take away from you at all, so not sure why you are opposed.
  13. The Dev said this: That is the part that is worrying people. It is very vague and could mean a year from now, at which point the conversion would be worthless. Once again, it's the lack of communication here that caused an issue in the first place. There was never any legitimate reason to remove the exchange. It also went against their statement that the exchange is not limited in time but quantity. There's a bigger issue here in that it sets a precedent for not trusting Anet.
  14. Unfortunately, this is what I believe too. I have no idea why they do this. As to me it seems to break faith with their playerbase...but someone somewhere decided this is the "right" thing to do. Which once again is weird to me, the only people that lost out this time are those that took Anet for their word. From this I personally gather that I can no longer trust what they say, since they can go back on it at any time without any notice.
  15. If you are talking about NA, don't read.If not, do you mean Birdi? I don't think he's wintrading, he is just a really good and sneaky scourge. Ah, no I was referring to NA, sorry that I didn't clarify.
  16. I got you! New titles for the win traders!!! I mean the dude that held the number one spot with a 90% win ratio last season was damn near a 50% ratio the last time I looked. How blatant can it be and yet, they don't seem to care. It's a shame they choose not to dedicate more resources to this mode. The gameplay is already fun but everything else needs a lot more work.
  17. Hi, You not so kindly removed my post in the other thread and gave me a warning. I think you are a bit over-zealous in your responses. It's akin to shutting down any dissenting opinion. Since that comment can no longer get a reply, I will post my question here. What is the status of the change? When are you going to add the exchange back in? How long will it be available for? Thank you in advance.
  18. This is a bogus response, players specifically asked if this was a limited-time thing for this very reason. They didn't want to be blind-sided. You reassured them that that would not be the case and yet you went and did it anyways. The real reason you removed them is that you want players to grind the latter wings for Coalescence (probably to pad numbers?) but once again this only punishes late comers. For some reason you have a track record of punishing those that are late to the party and I really don't understand it. You've made an awesome game, that people love to play and come back to time and time again and yet you keep repeating the same mistakes - ones that you state you will not do. Stealth changes go directly against the open line of communication you state you have. You made this mistake recently with the Skyscale. People asked what the collection/grind would look like and you basically said we don't want to reveal that. You knew people wouldn't like it and so you remained tight-lipped. Had you explained that it was essentially the precursor to Vision and would be similar to the grind for Aurora, you would have tapered people's expectations and I don't think you would have received as much flack. You had a chance to do better this time around...but nope. You keep doing this and it baffles me, how do you build trust with your community if you keep hiding things or going back on your word? I would urge you to undo this change immediately, or it's a slippery slope.
  19. There are so many casual groups and training runs that people have all the time. As long as you read up and come prepared (a good build and proper gear) you can hop in for even a single boss and leave when you want. You don't have to commit to every boss every week. You can do it at your own pace. I think people overstate the difficulty/elitism that goes on. Yes, there are elitists and yes there are toxic people but often those are the worst groups to be in and you wouldn't want to be there anyways - they tend to fail a lot. But these people exist in every game mode and in fact every game... /shrug Thanks but it's till not my cup of tea - and I don't have the hours to put in to git gud. I can survive farming bitter frost a bit longer :PNo worries, just thought I'd share. If you are ever willing to try there are many groups out there that will help you learn. And you don't always need to commit hours, I've seen people hop in for 30 min to an hour or even just a single boss. The benchmarks people post are often not great because they show best dps in a vacuum. While pugging and even with your own groups - you have to adapt a lot. As long as you can pull your own weight, you'll be fine. Either way best of luck to you and enjoy!

  21. Apple and orange.SA is a reactive trait (proc when aegis is used) while LT is a proactive trait (proc when you actively manage to CC a target).Reactive traits are seen as passive effects while proactive trait are active effects. There is a will behind the effect when you use a proactive trait while there isn't when you use a reactive trait. Reactive traits punish your foes for something that they do willingly or unwillingly while proactive traits reward you for something that you do willingly. I'm not so sure that's really true, as you can build around proccing Aegis to punish an enemy. If you are talking about the passive tick of Aegis, then maybe? But what about all the skills that you can cast Aegis with? Is it any different if someone is casting a skill and I interrupt them vs. someone is casting a skill, so I pop Aegis to block and punish them? Both are proactive forms of play, no?
  22. Well this degraded pretty quickly, I cut out the rest of your comments but my point still stands. Go play the two classes and you will see the difference. My original post had nothing to do with Ele. It was comparing a Guardian trait to a Mesmer trait. For some reason you brought up Ele because I guess they bother you? I don't know why to be honest. I stated nothing about the class itself being op vs. another until you talked about a single ability that almost no one uses (except for off/gimmick builds because that's all it is). At that point I addressed your "concerns" with a comparison between the two classes. It has NOTHING to do with what does and does not kill me or anyone else. Why you still harp on something that isn't true, is beyond me. Looking at your last comment, which once again is irrelevant to the question at hand, you are just looking to pick a fight, and so I am done here.
  23. What? I picked what would be a common build that happens to have a ton of synergy if playing power shatter. You are using a stationary light golem to talk about how much more broken LROD is when compared to LT. Talk about use case in pvp not what something does on a golem. Once again, go play the two classes and you will see the difference. First of all, you brought up the LROD thing. That wasn't even a point in my post. Second, I never complained about being killed too quickly by a full zerk chrono build. I was talking about the difference in traits between two classes and asking why one is okay and not another as well as the rationale behind the changes. You keep making baseless assumptions here...but I am not sure why.
  24. You are leaving out important information. When traited as you mentioned, every LT gives slow, alacrity, and then weakness every 3 seconds. You can also spam it a hell of a lot more than you can with LR. If you can do 1,600 damage 10 times, while also applying weakness and slow and giving yourself shorter CD. Are you really going to tell me that is worse off than being able to do 2,900 damage two or three times in that same time frame? What about the fact that Mesmer can do way more of everything else than Ele. You are looking at raw numbers and saying, "See it's better in a vacuum". LROD is way more punishing because playing ele is punishing in and of itself in its current state. If you miss a stun on Ele you have to wait that much longer to even try again. On Chrono, you can literally spam it every few seconds with multiple sources. Play the two classes and see which one seems more ridiculous to you.
  25. Are you really complaining about Elementalist? It's literally bottom of the barrel. The only players that play it are loyalists to the class. If you want Anet to keep gutting it, then sure why not. It's not like they weren't going to do that anyways.I dont care elementalist or not, I dont care that you pretend its in horrible state or not. I know a top10 guy who is playing an ele and literally laugh at this forum complains coming from "ele mains".You complain about LT which is way weaker than LROD doesnt matter how you look at it.Slow is annoying condition but weakness render all power builds useless while slow doesnt affect your damage.Sorry I wont read your QQ post.Static discharge got equal treatment as Lost Time did and only LROD did not, if anything LROD should be nerfed and brought down to their level. That top 10 player can get top 10 with any class, they are just good. If they did it with any other class they would have had a much easier time. Also, how is a single player indicative of the class as a whole? My post isn't a QQ post it was addressing your complaints. It also points out that LT through Power Block has weakness too...which seems to be your biggest complaint. It's a shame you blindly defend things without thinking about them. It's very telling that you can't take a few min to read someone's reply to you.
