  1. With the advent of the relic of speed, some tanky builds could just run around the massive circle forever unless you had quite a mobile and bursty build (which are problematic in their own way). Swords just need to be created faster for camps. When you stack properly by the time swords show up the camp is already half capped.
  2. Celestial is imbalanced - that is why it was removed from sPvP. Anet doesn't balance around roaming - that roaming builds (and PvE solo builds) exist is a side of effect of sPvP builds, which is a bit crazy considering most WV WvW objectives are roaming stuff.
  3. Vault dailies and vault weeklies is where the value is. The other stuff is just gravy if you are going to do it.
  4. While the game is a CPU hog, at 4k my 5700xt is capable of delivering upwards of 100 FPS in low to medium populated areas with a Ryzen 7700X. Sure in WvW and heavy populated metas like auric basin hole rush or soo won, the FPS will drop to to 35-45 with medium models and most other settings maxed. We just need a 8GHz CPU.
  5. People that say GW2 is pay to win never played a real play to win game. It is pay to get rid of a lot of inconvenience though - if you played from the start, adding a bag slot here, a bank tab there, a shared inventory slot or a storage expansion here and there, you might not notice as much. But if you make a new account, you will notice it and getting the account to a decent state of play without spending real cash will cost you a few hundred hours of efficient play
  6. I mean why are you raiding, especially competively, without an elite spec? Anet just has a very clumsy system, with 4 xpacs already + 4 living stories When they release a new xpac they should just have a standard version and a complete version for like $/€10 extra that unlocks all the previous content. In a couple of year there will be 6 xpacs, with the last 3 not having elite specs
  7. Can you even do raids as f2p player? And if you are raiding before getting an elite spec, maybe you shouldn't be raiding yet.
  8. Who the hell is this for? I'm ok if all Anet tosses in the gemstone is this useless crap noone really wants or needs? If this is what Anet comes when they are pressured from above to monetize the game, I applaud the cojones that whoever comes with crap like this or the weekly black lion drop has The only downside of this item is the potential new player trap. The only players that might be willing to pay for this are veterans on alt accounts wanting to start WvW with a strong toon. PvP players don't need this. PvE players don't need this.
  9. Desolation has a lack of commanders and the wvw veterans don't seem to want to join tags - this mean when Desolation is on their own PvE players don't play as they don't see commander tags outside prime time towards night time. When Desolation is linked to servers with lots of pug commanders or oriented WvW servers all the PvE players come to get their GoB, hence big queues and big wins.
  10. it is anet side. I have an account logged in but others wont load.
  11. During WvW rush Deso had indeed queues in at least 3 of the 4 maps between 19-21 UK time.
  12. Maybe the real wvw has died, whatever that is, but there is no denying that the wizard vault brought a ton of players to wvw (and probably many alt accounts).
  13. I saw lots of people fighting liadri when it first came out. Casual players don't mind challenge (at least some of them) - they just not want challenge that requires them to organize their play time around others. If you want organized team challenge content there are other games out there - but as far as I know GW2 has no/little competion on open world content or even WvW.
  14. And considering the uptick of wvw population (at least on eu servers) alliances might not even be needed... Just get rid of 3 servers on eu or have 3 sets of 3 linked servers (on eu).
  15. I'm sure many players would like harder content, as long as it is based around their own time, ie solo content. The problem of raids and strikes it isn't them being hard, it is them requiring 10 ppl. I play games like the soul series or monster hunter, I'm not interested in playing raids, not because they are hard but because I don't have the time to coordinate schedules with 9 other ppl. And dragons end was just slightly overturned and bugged to require squad for proper boons plus requiring almost everyone on the map to be participating. If the map cap was 100 and only 50-60 was required instead of 45 out of the 60 cap there would have been no problems.
