  1. Why does acquiring the Skyscale seem to take ten times longer than the last time? I got a second account to experience GW2 like I did 10 years ago. Has anyone else found the same?
  2. Trinkets, accessories, and rings are not restricted by profession. If you have limited money, you can swap them between all of your characters, something you can't do with armor or weapons.
  3. Well, of course. The only things not obligatory in the game are some of the ways to achieve goals; you have to play WvW to craft legendary weapons with the Gift of Battle.
  4. Wouldn't it be cool if we could customize the cursor to represent the Race, Class, Profession, or role they play in the game? How about having a Daredevil cursor shaped like the specialized staff 'BO' or a Renegade with the short bow 'Guerilla Arc'? Or the profession-specific 'icon.'
  5. Is there a way to sort characters on the initial character screen by name, race, profession, level, etc? I know the last played character is front of the list, but that sorting method only lasts until you play again. I have 15 slots total; a couple mules, and the others are split between the professions I play with differing sex and/or race. (3 revenants; human male/female; charr male) GW1 had that option, I was wondering if I missed it somewhere.
  6. The new Jade Bot has a Recycler: Karma: Recycler: Karma Masterwork Looted junk items will automatically be turned into karma. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Module:_Sensory_Array It automatically turns "junk" into 10 Karma points. It's not much, but it adds up over time. "Karmic Retribution" in various Season 3 areas are good places when farming.
  7. All I know is the time I want to buy stuff, the price is too high; and when I'm selling, the value drops far below my asking price. I tend to put in orders far in advance for what I need. If I'm working on a Legendary, I'll put in mats orders a month or more out from when I think I may finish the precursor. I have a mule for all my mats I don't want to accidentally use. Just don't chase the market; place the order, pull it when it doesn't sell for a couple days, and place it again for the new value. Each time you change, the "taxes" are taken out and the item essentially loses ending value. But you already knew that.
  8. GW1 was built around dual specialization from the beginning. GW2 was build around the ability for each character to play multiple functions. I think I understand what you envision: An elite spec designed to cross-train to another profession. I like the idea of characters able to swap elites with other professions (as long as PvP and WvW are excluded). So each time you wanted a new "secondary" you would train for that one specifically. It's not a bad idea...on paper.
  9. Now there's a new expansion adding to the massive amount of things I haven't completed yet with the other two expansions; masteries to unlock, achievements I haven't touched/completed, collections requiring other achievements, and so on. Oh the First World Gaming problems we face. When you are faced with a similar quandary, what do you do?
  10. It's all good and fine until people leave the map and it's hard to find enough players to complete the simplest quest. I don't know what the ultimate solution should be to make it easy enough for those who want to solo a majority of the map and hard enough to require you to gather a PUG to finish a meta event.
  11. Why should a Guardian be able to earn a Thief's weapon? The purpose in going from Exotic to Ascended is to show how the Character has progressed in their learning of their Elite Profession.
  12. It's easy enough right now from what I've experienced. I imagine you can key-bind them to whatever you wish. I haven't fished in many places so haven't caught more than a few of the common fish. I would hope the different species of fish would "fight" differently and the box to move "L" and "R" would increase with the better fishing percentage.
  13. The best thing would be to set an alert when names come available. You would have a week to claim/decline or it would go to the next person in the queue.
  14. My last post on this topic: It seems ANET wants people to have Legendaries and they are finding ways for people to acquire them easily and as cheap as possible (at least for the latest, GEN 3). The new Armory, a full set of trinkets, sigils/runes, and armor...how much space is saved in inventory? I found them to be kind of addictive, once I made my first (Nevermore) I looked to craft more. Either the story required for the Precursors or stat swapping were my favorite parts. I crafted Binding of Ipos, Chuka and Champawat (my Renegade main), Eureka, Nevermore, Pharus, and Rodgort. I purchased the Predator early on (yes, for my Deadeye) and Sunrise (cheaper than Twilight). I have been grateful to those people who crafted and sold me those two and use them with as much pride as the ones I made on my own.
  15. I was rethinking this issue and came up with another reason to allow purchasing Legendary weapons: I think we have all been assuming each and every player has both expansions and at least 9 character slots (1 per profession). That's not always the case. A player with the minimum number of characters (and doesn't want any more slots) is limited in the number of Legendary weapons they are capable of crafting due to the need to craft either Gift of Maguuma Mastery/Gift of Desert Mastery. Once a character has completed the "Gift" cycle they can't go back and do it again on the same character; the Hearts, Waypoints, and POIs don't reset. If a person DOESN'T have one or the other of the expansions they can't craft half the Legendaries currently listed. There's enough content with the core game for casual players to go through without the expansions, if they don't want them, but should they be penalized for not buying the expansions? Or is that just an "incentive" to buy the expansions?
  16. Already got a reply and completed the JP. Thanks for those who contacted me and the individual who was already at the end of the JP.
  17. JPs are my nemesis when it comes to story content and achievement completion. I have one achievement left to complete Chuka and Champawat; “Lesson: Caring Coddler’s Cove JP”. I’ve gotten close, but numerous, accurate jumps cause me to yell swear words and question my JP sanity. If anyone wants to help me with this last step, I’m willing to pay 5 gold. Message me in-game and I’ll swap to the character with the tiger on their back to and use a "Teleport to Friend" complete the achievement. Easy-peasy. Thanks in advance
  18. Sorry, but this sounds like another "I want everything given to me" posts.
  19. Depending on how EoD finishes, I would like to see a new enemy introduced set on taking out sentient life on Tyria. Each LW story could focus on the destruction/rebuilding of a core “Home” city, with the final story ending in a last stand at Lion’s Arch. It could be something from GW1 (The Underworld, FoW, The Mists, or a completely new region). New races/professions could be introduced as heroes to help our current characters in the overall conflict. In the end, you would have newly constructed cities (possibly additional cities across Tyria as “Homes” to chose from, new professions instead of the current Elites for the nine professions, and a new race or two. It would be difficult for established characters to transition from Old to New, but it was done with the Destruction of Lion’s Arch in LW1.
  20. Someone is still crafting the item. It is not merely a weapon available by ANET on the TP or BLTC page for Gems. The gameplay won't change given the stats are the same as Ascended items (which hardly anyone complains about right now). Build mechanics won't change and there are no new attribute combinations.
  21. When you see a character with a Gen 1 Legendary, what's the first thing you think: "That person BOUGHT their Legendary! They're a cheater!" Or, "Oh, there's another Legendary."? There's no way of knowing how a person came across that skin. With the Gen 2 Legendary series you KNOW that person crafted the whole thing. But you don't know if they gathered all the mats themselves or whipped out a Credit Card and BOUGHT (gasp) a majority of the grinding or high-gold gated items. I've done both; crafted and bought (thank you for your time, I hope you had fun crafting, and enjoyed my gold for the transaction) GEN 1 Legendary weapons. Don't worry about what others do in getting what they want. It really doesn't cheapen the time and effort (someone still had to craft the whole thing so the work was still put in, just not by you). (As a side note: Do you think those who use Mesmers' Portals to bypass JPs cheating? It doesn't cost anything but the bypass is still available and a simple patch could put a stop to it, but the Devs don't want to.)
