  1. Made this thread yesterday, didn't see this sticky for QoL's thoughhttps://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/95339/toypocalypse-qol-request-siege-counter
  2. Taken from the Wiki: "There is a cap on the number of constructions." (siege pieces) "Once that cap is reached, any new construction placed will delete the oldest one. The exact cap is not known, but it seems to be about 80." I've had the opportunity to speak to a number of self-confessed Toypocalypse tragics about the siege being placed, and a more exact number, but no one really knows. However, we all agree on one thing - there needs to be some kind of active counter on the amount (or number) of siege pieces placed in the instance. It's also not known if upgrading a piece adds to the siege counter or just improves its abilities, but it's believed that it is the latter. If we had a counter to see how many siege pieces were in the instance we could then stop building and start upgrading, making better use of our time guarding the objective Gift Dolyaks. Right now, most folks (new or seasoned) don't really have a care what or how much siege is placed, or indeed where it's placed on the map, nor the strategy behind the placement. As usual, there's a certain degree of apathy towards the goal of this minigame, and wiki is vastly overlooked by most for strategic tips. As long as one dolyak survives the 10 rounds, no one cares. If a siege placement counter could be implemented then I believe it would go some way towards getting people's attention as to how much can be placed, and will more likely draw their focus to placing siege strategically instead of where the materials to build the siege drop (happens very often).
  3. I can think of plenty of reasons why not, and it all starts with map lag and lack of performance. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
  4. If I feel nostalgic, then perhaps I'll splurge 10g on a bib.. err, cape. But I'm not putting down any gems towards something which has been neglected for so long, and everyone has asked for (that played the original game)m and Anet said a flat NO to. If you're gonna give it for free then at least get the proportions right, but don't make us feel like we have to spend the cash to get something that looks decent. Get it right with the proportions for EVERY toon, or get it off the table. :s
  5. Updated with image of my main, looking like he's 7 and imitating some kid in his back yard, trying to be a superhero.Cape needs to be LONGER for bigger toons. Bottom line.
  6. Firstly, let me say thanks for reintroducing a staple from the GW1 game.Secondly, capes on large norn look like they're wearing tea towels. They need to be proportionate the same as what I've seen on humans, etc.I would totally rock a cape on my main norn if it didn't look so ridiculous. I'd show just how stupid this looks but I don't have an image hosting site. If someone else has a norn to show/compare please post, thanks.
  7. Thanks Anet for finally coming around to a reasonable train of thought. It's only been, what... 4, maybe 5 years since the weapon-swap on OoC mechanic was first suggested, and then you laughed in the face of it. "They already have far too many skills to use between their 4 attunements, it doesn't seem logical to include weapon-swapping on the ele..." (paraphrased, of course). Same with Engi and their kits, but this post is mostly about the Ele. The one thing you totally forgot about was that even though the ele has a bar of skills (1-5) per attunement, there's not a whole lot that are actually useable when it comes to combat. This is known when it comes to using Staff. I kind of have to laugh at this right now, because ever since the arrival of Weaver spec, I'd not even thought about weapon swaps, except only to face world bosses and the like (for ranged purposes). I'd already found a very nice niche for my ele which has good mobility, can fight at melee range and prefers Fire Sword and Earth Dagger for most combat purposes, and still come out of it alive. And now you answer the prayers of virtually everyone who has ever manned an Ele or Engi; for the veterans it's probably "too little, too late" while they go and use other classes that aren't so restricted in general PvE play. Nice gesture, though. Such a pity it took this dang long to get it implemented.
  8. I'm trying the same thing for The Hunt, and it seems my map (IP:163) has been bugged for a while. I'm sitting here in-map with quite a few others who are at the same point and just want the event chain to not be bugged, but sadly there's no option to change maps and even because of the scant number of users in the map, it doesn't matter about relogging to try for a different map, because it seems like this is the only one available. I've submitted a ticket to customer service about this, but somehow I'm not expecting much of a reaction to it, if the events have been bugged for this long.
  9. you have the new skyscale skins offered for 2000 gems, but I don't see anywhere to buy JUST the branded skyscale skin, which all I really want. well, that and the branded roller beetle, but I don't think 400 gems for either one isn't too much to ask, instead of paying 2k for something I know I won't use.
  10. yeah thanks, I started typing this when I was trying to understand what was going on, and I understood it to be a bug/glitch at first, but as you say it's more suggestion-based. thanks for the tips, if I get the time I'll try them
  11. According to the little segmented meter at the top of the UI for the War Eternal achievement overall progress, there's 18 which need to be fulfilled for the Corsair Boot Box reward. I've completed 55 total and still only 16 of the required 18. It's unlikely I'll get the reward as my ping is shockingly bad so I won't get dextrous dodger. My question is, why is this so selective? I've devoted more than enough time to this as it is, and I don't want to devote anymore if I don't have to, just for AP's and a skin.
  12. yeah I thought it was odd. But it still doesn't explain the mysterious packet loss from the Amazon servers I'm getting now.
  13. I was wondering why I couldn't either log in or get the new Dragonfall map to load correctly. Either way was taking vastly long periods of time, way more than normal. I had an address which I was checking in the history of my PingPlotter program, which was 64.25.33.87 (I'm guessing it was one of the LS3 or early LS4 maps) as shown, which kept bouncing between IP addresses at ncsoft.com. I found this unusual since I'd never seen this kind of behaviour before, and thought I'd report it here. Anyway I just checked Dragonfall's "/ip" and it's totally different, but also doesn't explain the kind of packet loss I was experiencing yesterday. Now that I've entered the Dragonfall IP (18.213.92.165) and put that into the PingPlotter, it's showing 100% packet loss at the destination. Also bear in mind that I'm in Australia, and my ping is usually around 250ms at best. There's usually only 23-24 hops between my location and the Anet server, but this is now showing me 30 hops. I've just discovered that the only reachable address (on PingPlotter) is 54.239.42.89 thanks to these 100% packet loss hops at the destination.http://i68.tinypic.com/2447kp4.jpg
  14. I was wondering why I couldn't connect to Anet, and when I could the map would take forever to load. It seems that there's a loop of sorts being created within NCSoft's servers, creating multiple unnecessary hops (mine have increased from 23-24 to around 64) and it all starts with when the address 64.25.32-9.ncsoft.com (no that's not a typo) goes to 64.25.32-26, and then to 64.25.32-25 and back and forth over again -- a total of 48 times. This is creating 100% packet loss by the time it gets to its destination. http://oi66.tinypic.com/2ihbbjm.jpg
  15. Thanks for posting this. I'm experiencing the exact same thing, at ~40% (can't tell for sure because there's no % indicator unless the Torment can be targetted). Meanwhile, Aurene is busy as hell with her flying headbutts trying to crack Kralk. Near the heart there's a safe spot to sit (where I am now) which stops the spawns occurring. Still, this instance has all the hallmarks of being glitched to hell. I can't progress and I'll have to restart it and see if it makes a difference.
  16. I was considering this just recently, and now New Year of the Dog has hit us, my MF cap is sneaking up on me as well. I use all my toons, and I don't wanna mule any of them for extra stacks of essences. Such a waste. I thought about using extra essences for recipes to convert into increased gold find% / karma% / XP gain%, similar to what we have for 28th day login (chest of loyalty) rewards. At least they could be put to good use this way. Expanding upon this idea, I wonder if it could be possible for one of our crafters (artificer most likely) to convert excess essences, karma or tomes of knowledge into bonfires which could be spawned in cities or at events, and the like. I haven't read through this whole thread, just stumbled upon it out of need (to find out what to do with extra essences) and curiosity, and just had a few ideas to put forward which might work if they could be implemented.
  17. So I used this to capture two strikes in the one fractal, and I noticed that after the second one, the bottle is no longer in my inventory. I had 4 more to capture in different fractals and didn't notice that I no longer had the bottle until I was ready to cap the next strike. I'm wondering if this is some sort of bug or if anyone else has had this happen to them. I've made other pre's before (this one being for Zap) and I've never had anything like the Illuminator for Dawn, etc. disappear while capping things for their respective collections.
