  1. Some of the people here should be ashamed of their comments, we are a better community than this. This game is ultra-casual 95% of the time so much so that you can autoattack metas and bosses. The second people make VALID points about that 5% being far too difficult when compared to everything else in the game it seems like an invite for some of you to attack others. Shame on you. But the point of of this topic is not that the JP is hard at all, it's that it is poorly designed (which it is), there is too many 1-pixel slips that can kill you, checkpoints are poorly labelled, if you miss a checkpoint you get nothing, etc. etc. It is just badly designed. I will never understand the thought process of people who think something unbalanced is just difficult content when the only reason it is difficult is because it was not worked harder on. Bad design is just that, bad design. When people speak of disability/mobility issues don't mock them, other people exist in the world and they don't have all the same skills or abilities as everyone else. Some of the regular content can be an issue for them yet they don't complain about changing it, they don't expect it or feel entitled to it. They are absolutely allowed to say "hey, this is way too difficult" and whether they have disability/mobility issues or not, just don't mock them. This particular JP would be considered unbalanced if you look at other JPs in the game. Not to mention different machines producing different experiences through graphics or ping. What you think you are saying: I had no problems, it's not that hard. What you are actually saying: I don't care, I got mine. What you think you are saying: Just pay a mesmer to port you, easy. (includes youtube, wiki, taco also) What you are actually saying: I want to skip this content as well. What you think you are saying: Doing the JP requires skill, you don't have skill. What you are actually saying: Gathering ore is part of the meta and takes skill. What you think you are saying: GIT GUD What you are actually saying: I have nothing to contribute. What you think you are saying: If I have to do the JP then so do you. What you are actually saying: I feel entitled that other people should not receive help unless I get it too.
  2. A revamp of the LFG tool would be really nice, I would love to see a squish on all those tabs. Instead of several listing for each map, just have 1 tab for LW2 for example. How to know which map they are on though? Add the location of party leader to the right-side pane so now we can see location, party members/classes and text all in place without having to click through tons of empty tabs. If you were to add any other tabs I would highly recommend a "services" tab, I hate trying to set up for a raid group and just see the tab spammed with raid-sellers. Nothing against them but they should be in a more appropriate area; i.e. services. This could also be uused for other services that players provide, I would even add a "request service" tab for players.
  3. Also, would it kill for an update to which squad we want? How many times do we press the squad button only for it to be the wrong size? To create a squad it takes 2 clicks unless it is wrong then it takes several more. Adding a choice of the squad as per image provided would be a really great QoL update and should not be too difficult to implement. Here's hoping! https://imgur.com/a/7Yz9Htm
  4. Oh god yes on the mouse cursor, it's so tiny and we are constantly trying to find it. So much for accessibility. On new character select screen I am hoping they change it with Cantha because I imagine whatever they choose there will be the last time they look at it. This is a post from nearly 2 years ago asking for the same thing.
  5. Whenever we get a new skin we may not always have a free character or weapon to add it to when we get it so we have to either save it for later (taking up inventory space) or trash it (wasting a transmute charge later if you do want it). Sometimes the rewards we get from content is not actual weapons but skins alone and they all add up eventually. If they were weapons/armor then at least we could salvage and the trade off is a few materials but with skins, nothing. I was thinking as a QoL upgrade you could add an option to skins to either convert them into a transmute charge or add it to the wardrobe as a free change later on... think of the scarecrow finisher and how you hold hundreds of them as a consumable (never need the infinite one). If we could do either of these things it would free up so much space and make skins a worthwhile reward on their own even if you totally dislike the skin or have tons of variants of the same items (think SAB weapons).
  6. Opened 100 boxes from the fractal rush event today and I got 2 exotic warhorns... the preview option does not show that these are in the bonus box of goods at all so I'm wondering if there was an error and something else should have dropped instead, infusions for instance (take a chance lol). The warhorns were "song of the temptress" & "cuthroat caller" for those wondering.
  7. It's not too late to pick up your rewards, if you participated in the 'Community Event'. Yeah I turned my crystals in today and talked to Lokka to collect them, @AgentMoore.9453 expressed the sentiment perfectly. Terrible rewards matched with terrible execution and information surrounding the event and If I'm being honest, it was pretty dull to boot. I have better things to grind in this game and hours of the same 3 bosses is not profitable nor interesting. I will say that it was better than fixing signposts though, 2/10.
  8. But for what reason? If you don't log in to those characters for months on end then does it matter at all? Why not just set 3 or 4 dates in your own year to go through all of your characters at once and collect what gifts are there. Speaking of which, the contents of birthday gifts are so small that you are not going to be missing out if you have not collected it within a few days or more. Like in my suggestion above, have a symbol on the char select screen if there is a gift available, just having dates is not efficient and would be sort of ugly looking too. It's not a good use of dev time for something so miniscule but if they did, at least make it a "quality" QoL and not mediocre.
  9. Tbh, I'm not crazy about the idea of adding birthday date to the screen (how useful is it really?), you can check your age on game with /age and as someone above mentioned, GW-Efficiency is amazing to keep track of things if you have tons of characters. I think it would be wasted dev time to just add the date, what you should be requesting is that we get a little symbol beside each character if they have a birthday gift so we don't have to log in to see if they are due one. That might be a better idea than purely the date. As for showing backpacks, infusions.... hell yes, that is wanted by the majority of folks.
  10. As above, what was the point of the tiers? I did a fair few missions, I turned in my seals and didn't get anything from the event afterwards. Someone said speaking to Lokka was how to get them but I didn't get anything.
  11. The achievement "Extra Life Community Goal" turns up in the nearly completed section of achievements so often that it feels like it is permanently there. I hope that we can get this maxed if that event runs agains or have it removed. Better yet, could we get an option to start hiding achievements that we are not interested in?
  12. Well first off, looking at something 2+ years down the line is anything but "sudden" and that is not my argument at all so you have completely missed the point of the post and finally if the adventures are too hard then yes, they should be revisited. From the way you speak I gather that you don't care about adventures so if they do revisit them again then it should be of no interest to you. Your comment just reads like "git gud nub" so it brings nothing to the discussion sadly.
  13. Tendril Torchers can be pretty iffy, gun does not always hit which is why 10 extra kills can be a bit of a pain, shooting gallery is on the easier side with 1st person mode I would say but everyone is better at some things than others. Still think there is room for a big improvement on a lot of them, could do with a revisit to them again. Yeah I mention in my OP that a few adventures were extended, that was back in 2016 & 2018 so now it's 2020 and they are due another look ;)Now I don't want to get gold on an adventure and still have 2 minutes left to go but for some of them, 10 seconds could make all the difference between a fair challenge and near impossible. Like I mention above with Jormag's Fang, a difference of 3 seconds would make the gold reward look a little less arbitrary compared to the silver and bronze rewards for it and whole lot less difficult while still keeping the challenge. We should be able to complete a race with 1 hiccup and still be able to make it to gold, perhaps 2 for those longer courses like in Mt.Maelstrom where your fingers can get locked due to the length of the race. If you have to incorporate shortcuts, perfect timing of speed boosts and other finicky tricks just to cut it close to the timer then it's fair to say that it is too difficult.
  14. Any chance of these time trials being balanced at all? Some of them are super easy where you get gold first try and some require the luck of the devil to even get silver, let alone gold. I'm not going to get into a discussion of whether or not they are fun to do but rather I want to talk about their difficulty. Let us look at the rollerbeetle Jormag's Fang - 'Roller Ace' for instance; Bronze: 1:00, Silver: 0:45s, Gold: 0.32sIt's almost impossible to not get a bronze for this but gold, oh Melandru! Why is this not 0.35s instead? That is still pretty difficult to do but with practice it is reasonable. I'm not even sure that people at 0:32s are even in the leaderboard of top 1000 scores for this adventure. What's with Tendril Torchers for that matter? B: 50 kills, S: 75, G: 110?Why not 100? This is still an achievement that many people have not completed since HoT was released. Now it is possible to lower the kill count on this or extend the time limit for other adventures. Sanctum Scramble got it's time extended, The Floor is Lava, extended. Shooting Gallery has been extended twice due to the ridiculous time constraint it used to have. The rollerbeetle Halloween race is an absolute pain as well, and don't even get me started on the Gold Griffon courses. To sum up; will you guys look into the possibility of balance or even just extensions for some of these adventures because honestly they are just a pain in the ass for most of us.
  15. Several people in my guilds had the issue as well, it does seem to be working now though and I got my ticket through. (a mod can close this topic now)
  16. Cannot access either support from the website nor from in game and I have an issue, decided I would post it here while they work on the support issue. Bought the New Horizons pack and with week 3 I got the usual things; deciding on backpack/glider combo and I was looking at my own gliders to see which ones I didn't have (as the pack doesn't say) and decided on the "Legion Jetpack" but when I clicked it I didn't get a new skin ping at the side of the screen and I realised that apparently I already owned this skin even though when I searched in my gliders it didn't appear. https://imgur.com/Hn1uEqK
  17. All y'all are geniuses haha. I was sitting Mistlock and was too tired to do my dailies when I got home so went to bed instead without leaving the zone. I got all 5 rewards. Thanks everyone.
  18. Update: I had to teleport to a main city for the rewards to appear but I got them. Just wondering if anyone else has gotten the rewards or even the AP for the champ rush last week. I participated and got nothing bar the loot from killing bosses. I know there was a bug and they said they would reward when it was over but I still got nothing right now, is that the same for everyone? Is there an update?
  19. I'm glad you say that, so a big community with 2 guilds means one of those guilds had to hit 500 before overflow brought you to a 2nd guild for that community effectively giving you the capacity to hold 1000 members. For arguments sake, let's say you have 500 members and that most of them participate in your guild events and yet only several weeks later you were taking only veterans and less than a full party are actually still interested in raids. This is what I am talking about, raids have failed to keep peoples interest and the ones that do end up being vets (or speedrunners). This to me is significant of a large problem with the game when 95% do not participate. Personally I don't think raids are exceptionally hard and some will agree/disagree with that statement but it all depends on gear and practice. The quote below to me is the perfect view of the raid scene for most people. Why help other players train raids, it's just not worth it.
  20. So there is some great comments here, and others that miss the point. The conversation is good to have regardless, there is a few replies I want to make though. What happens when you offer loot? People play the content, they play it more often and that means others have a chance to play with them. More players that are taught the mechanic means more loot for the raiders. When the game first launched the GW2 manifesto was against raids, against mounts and against grind so I think it is safe to say that it's no longer the same game it was 7 years ago. People rushed through dungeons to be the best and elitism stopped them allowing anyone joining until they realised how casual it was. Elitists moved on to what was most profitable or what was seen as the toughest challenge in the game to try create monopolies, it's what they do. With GW2 and it's horizontal progression system however, the elitists are in the same area as the casuals so need to artifically create that wall. But as they played these areas daily they had to bring new people in little by little, players base knowledge grew and everyone began gaining. Look at the first Teqatl revamp or Triple Trouble, those things were a mess on the first few days until players helped players. Character or account limit was fine as it was a day at the most, it didn't really matter if you did it twice in the one day as it was available several times that day. Jumping back to raids, the limit is per week and while they are available 24/7 that is not when the playerbase does them. You must get your wing done within the first 3-6 hours of reset or there is a high possibility that you will not even see a group in LFG at all. This system doesn't work for raids and after 4 years the raid system is only available to a tiny, tiny portion of the playerbase. What you call the "experienced players" don't necessarily constitute as people that would exploit raids, some might, but they already profit as they get their full wings done on day 1 and they sell raids all week long. They have filled the hole in their pockets, they always will and refusing to update a system that would benefit the majority of players because a small few "might" take advantage of it when they already are making money hand over fist, doesn't make the game better. Raid participation is broken and it needs a new system after 4 years of this. So the game should stay perpetually the same is your point here? It's not like videogames are really that expensive, especially ones with microtransactions. GW2 'boasts' 11 million accounts and if you break that down to let's say 5 million active players, let's say 1 million of those buy a salvage-o-matic for $10, that means Anet made $10M on just a single item alone and there is many, many more items in that cash shop. I'm rounding off the numbers very roughly here but you get my point, they can afford it. I know people were let go recently but that is a management decision from above and not by choice of the GW2 team. They probably are busy on things we don't know about cough expansion; and yet still that doesn't change that their are systems in the game right now that do not work. Look at balance patches, they take time and are headaches too but are essential to the health of the game. When you are siphoning off 95% of your playerbase away from the content you create then it's a problem. Especially if all that work was such a headache to begin with, why lock it way to a minority? It needs to be updated. Many people do have multiple accounts whether they multibox or play each legitimately, they still have to play those raids, they still earn their rewards. Speaking of rewards, almost all rewards in raids are account bound anyway so it's not like they would get much profit. Who cares if they run their alt accounts first, once they are done and out of the way, it means they will eventually have to help other players (based on a reward system for first time clears). The people that really care about DPS meters already use one out of game, build templates are on the way and while a mentor system seems very complicated, nobody is saying that is how it should be done. The point raised in the OP is that the current system is not working for 95% of the game, this is wasted development time if your players cannot even access it 4 years later. Sorry, I know I have quoted you three times now but it's not personal haha. I disagree completely here, a gear inspect tool.... this isn't (that MMO we won't name) and doing so will increase the elitism in the game, it will just shift kill proofs to gear check and gear has nothing to do with skill, more so in GW2 where all gear is horizontal and content is balanced based on exotic gear. Not counting agony resistance as it's a unique addition but you can get through every bit of content in this game with exotic gear if you can play your class well, Anet pride themselves on that. I think both kill proofs and gear inspect should be booted to the curb as it goes agaisnt what GW2 envisioned itself to be, all inclusive. As I said above, the cost is miniscule and if it's so big of a net loss to create it then why bother with the creation of raids for the 5% of players? That is a net loss, developing a game that people don't play. People already play for 2 hours with pugs and get a few measly shards for a fail, that is the ones lucky enough to get a group that either 1) doesn't fall apart every 10 minutes when someone drops and 2) manage to get a group past the first few hours of reset. How would they be balanced? Well that is Anet's job isn't it? You can't stop people from finding the most efficient route but you can stop them from exploiting it and blocking other players from playing content. You also mention that "Raiding is an absolute niche content" well I gotta say "what an absolute waste of development time then". What is the point of making content that 95% of your playerbase cannot get a group for except for 3-6 hours after reset if they are not already in a static group otherwise they have to buy raids. The current system is very flawed.
