It always struck me as weird how every single mesmer uses purple for their effects. Makes it a bit easy to tell when a mesmer is involved. Have a spare dye slot to change their particle effects colors would probably go a long way to meshing with player appearances, and be a good lore bump. Mesmer effects are already pretty easy to read by their shape and texture, broken glass shards, floating, broken spheres of rock, and rings of distorting crystals, so it shouldn't damage readability as long as it retains transparency and shape.

That, and I want to feel extra fancy.

or you could just try to mesh with the class' original dye theme instead? i disagree but you can even still use non thematic dye schemes and look cool on any class, every class has their own distinct colors/particle effects, not just mes.  "and be a good lore bump" this would be the exact opposite. "weird how every single mesmer uses purple for their effects" its not only purple, its a very wide spectrum between pink and purple and even a bit blue.

bashing your opponent's skull with a phantasmal hammer through a space/time portal.

I think thats generic too though but nonetheless, I think anet could give any class any weapon and make it work perfectly in terms of their insane creativity., but still iffy about the new spec being up to par with mirage and chrono lol

And I think necro will get a very cool spec so I'm most excited for that

No one? Excuse me, but why the kitten do you think I make the summarization at the bottom?

Ranger has no weapon skills that are inherently unblockable, and the only way to make something unblockable is to run a trapper build because traps are unblockable, or to run a garbage signet. They are reliable in the sense that they work, so I can't not call them reliable.

But, it is OBJECTIVELY the worst class in the game when it comes to unblockable attacks. That's the relevant statement I'm making. Nothing else.

I don't agree with OP's ideas at all.

Should "having the least access to unblockable attacks" even be an argument though, cause  imo I think there is a good reason why they designer ranger and war that way 🙂

wtf? Look at the ele healing signet and say that again xD
And that signet is actually really op for some builds. Since condition thief is really good in PvE, it became really fine. In Open world you can run P/D and D/D with full trailblazers with that signet and you will change your opinion trust me, I tried it and its really fine as it is. A buff or something would just shoot condition thief over the top in open world. The damage and mobility are also the strength of thief so you neednt ask for 200 health per hit while ele is as bad as condi thief in open world and has a signet that does 200 health per skill, not even per hit + ele has less mobility than thief.
Lets say you play condition thief in open world with P/D. And you do 3 hits each second which is really easy to manage. You even can do more easily but lets just say 3 hits each second:

Easy math. 3 x 132 are 396 each second. (Warriors healing signet gains 344 each second, with a lower active effect and higher cooldown)
And all thief heals have a cooldown of over 20 seconds (except 1 and the signet). So if you 396 x 20 its 7.920 and thats more than any other heal of thief does.

Also there shouldnt be 1 heal for all builds so thats really fair that this signet is mainly only good for condi thief  (or argueable double pistol).

If you want a buff of a signet, choose elementalist healing signet, it is waaaaay worse.
Signet of malice (thief) - 132 health per hit. 3,275 health by active effect, 15 seconds cooldown. 1 and a quarter second casting duration.
Signet of Restoration (elementalist) - 202 health per attack. 3,275 health by active effect, 25 seconds cooldown. 1 second casting duration.

kitten i think ele would love to get the healing signet of thief. Let them change if you want! 😄

    Exactly, the heal is good.

ArenaNet won't act as your nanny.  You will have to take responsibility for your own actions.  If you truly want your account deleted, you can contact the CS Team via the 'Support' link above/below.  Be aware:  this action is permanent.

If you are unhappy with the results of opening Black Lion Chests, don't purchase Black Lion Chest Keys.

Trade Gold for Keys, do the weekly key run, map-complete, or any other way to obtain keys.

    Good luck.

lol its not that serious xddddd

I wouldn't mind if they replace confusion with burning on staff. But anyway to your point, this is why the thought of a support espec in EoD is frustrating. I would rather we have an illusionless aoe burst, than another thing that spams illusions/boons or slow ramping conditions.

all they need to do is just to revert to exactly how it was imo

staff mirage is like traditional condi dps (unlike contemporary ‘bursty’ condi dps) that needs time to ramp. youll find this sort of time in most unorganised pugs, where mirage performs far from mediocre - almost the same as it does on any non-TL/SH/etc raid boss

@ with the addition of confusion on staff i think it made it both ramp-up and bursty in a weird way i can't explain

the ‘issue’ with mesmer and fracs is that its design doesnt allow it to be ‘meta’ unless it is inherently broken (but then the meta is always full of broken nonsense so idk); condi will never be ‘meta’ outside scale 100 due to its dmg graph (i.e. ramp) and most power mesmer builds struggle to compact a burst into breakbar, and they fail to use OWP effectively on top anyways because phantaspam

@ I think this also applies to condi mes and the fact that confusion is useless on breakbars

but mesmer (in fracs) is not weak and hasnt been for some time now. this is just because people confuse it with not being ‘meta’

if you want meta level play, then play whats in the meta

if the people youre playing with dont like what youre playing, then youre frankly playing with the wrong people

@ exactly, people just obsessed and brainwashed by meta this meta that

eventually things will change, metas will shift and mesmer might actually be weak one day. but staff changes can be completely reverted and imo mesmer will still be far from reaching that stage

@ i would really like them to just revert staff to how it was, condi mes was perfectly niche prior (condi mirage and chrono) and now staff mirage just comes and do what both of them do way better

    Tbh it's possible

I'd say the only things going against it would be.

People wanting gw1 style mesmer (this is a canthra expansion. It wouldn't surprise me if they did this)

Mesmer not really needing another supportive role build.

    - we are the meta tanks

    - we supply quickness.

    - we supply alacrity.

    - we did have a healing specc til it got nerfed.

Everything added to mesmer so far has been in some shape of form a support/utility role. And although mirage wasn't. Pushing alacrity onto it kinda now did. And it's expected now it will be balanced as a alacrity build not a DPS one.

I'd be surprised to see another supportive role. Considering how utility based the class is now comparitively. Weve over time lost alot of our damage builds etc etc to this stuff. And attempts of larger supportive roles with chrono got gutted.

Imho I think we will see a no-clone elite specc. With Hex's

But it doesn't rule out bard styled. It is another concept highly requested so maybe Anet will just do it anyway.

I barely have any idea of what gw1 mes is like...i guess i need to look it up or something

Lmao no one here is arguing about your kitten PvE mobs. We're talking about kittening raids. Why would I give a kitten about any PvE mob open world crap? You can literally just press one with any class and breeze through the content there.

lmao ikr no one cares about ow mobs...like what?

  10. 17 minutes ago, Ardenwolfe.8590 said:

And? Seriously? And? Are the PvE mobs complaining? Who cares if it isn't a challenge or easy for you? The point of the game is to have fun. It's not to destroy someone else's enjoyment because anyone else perceives something isn't to their specific liking. You don't like it? Don't play it.

If you ask ArenaNet to nerf anything, they're not going to use a delicate hand. They're going to use a sledgehammer. After years and years of nerfs, if you don't get that, then there's nothing more to discuss.

You're just biased, simple, and this topic is about END GAME PVE CONTENT NOT OPEN WORLDS MOBS OMEGALUL???

  11. If you guys can't realize how over-tuned this  build is then you are biased lol. Its not even like how power chrono was where it was also over-tuned BUT was also skill intensive rotation, with this build its so easy to  be effective while also having good survivability, literally spamming dodges and evades.

Staff is good as it is now! For once they made staff fun and useful! The nerfs that they made was understandable, but more nerfs is going to make staff useless again! No thanx... lets for once keep something good for mirage, since it's already been too much nerfed with the one-dodge nonsense. Staff actually helps a great deal with surviving (from a mirage point of view) in WvW aswell, so NOPE no more nerfs to staff...

staff been fun and useful, not every weapon will be meta for high-end group  content but staff was perfect for solo group intended content, and give back mirage its dodge back in wvw, boom problem fixed

  13. Not only did this build completely over-shadow axe mirage, but also condi chrono, literally only because of the ambush skill as of right now, this build is an utter disrespect to condi chrono, not even scepter's ambush which does almost the same thing is half as good, plz anet just revert staff exactly to how it was prior.

In open world, mirage lacks an efficient way to target multiple foes, and again enemies die before they can stack condi or even land multiple attacks on because skills (whether it is axe2,3 or staff1,2,3) have long animation.
I really wished May 11 patch, whose one of main aims was to buff mirage, would improve fights in these situations....

mirage is really strong in open world, i'm confused.  the only condi weapon that doesnt hit mutiple foes is scepter, axe and staff DO hit multiple foes, and if you're talking just general open world running around, why would anyone play condi anyways then say that enemies die before they can stacks...thats how it suppose to work lol, just play power builds if you wanna zoom through content like that

  15. It would be very niche in fractals as well because it has the slowest ramp up of compared to every other condi class and also because confusion is useless on exposed bosses. Axe mirage would be better

Many people have tested Cele since the patch. Most came down to the same conclusion:

    - Cele is certainly *viable* in both Open World PvE and WvW.

    - Cele is *suboptimal* compared to Trailblazer. Trailblazer has higher Vitality, higher Toughness (effective healing), higher DPS, lower Boons Duration (which you don't need since the patch introduced boons cap).

The rest is up to your play style and what you enjoy.

lmfao this comment is way back from 2018....and i never decided to play ele btw 🙂

You can block anyone, but I shouldn't have to read a stranger's comments in a private message in the first place. I mean, we don't walk around in real life with our contact information floating above our heads, so why should we in-game? You can set yourself to invisible, but then it looks like you're ignoring friends. This seems like an obvious feature to include.

I wouldn't mind this feature, but I don't like your justification XD, cause anyone could walk up to you irl and "whisper" something between you and whomever only a, i mean technically not everything needs a reasoning as to why anyways, cause if you don't want to interact privately with people you don't know you just don't want to right..

In pvp, the damage has become less than it was due to the nerf of the torment
I really don't know anymore who walks in pvp with a staff, it was already pointless last year after the fatal condition nerf
wind of chaos is still not useful, in addition, now chaos armor does not give 33% protection (when taking a trait on a staff skill cooldown), I think the new patch has once again nerfed condi mirage to pvp and wvw
If the target has discharged all skills and is running, then the chaos vortex, due to burning, could still inflict damage on the target, but now it will run and wait for the skills to roll back, taking 30 damage per stack of confuse . And it turns out that in pvp, the mirage is still bad and no buffer.

    isnt this a pve post
