In preparation for the upcoming anniversary sale, in which I hope there will be some nice expansion sales, I was wondering what you guy recommend to buy while it on sale to someone starting out. Looking at mostly useful items rather than cosmetic items. For example I am tired of buying salvage kits and having several of them taking up inventory slots so which Salvage-o-matic should I buy since there seems to be three I can look into.Copper-Fed Salvage-o-MaticSilver-Fed Salvage-o-MaticRunecrafter's Salvage-o-Matic I read bad things about the runecrafter one, as in it not worth it due to the endless extractor, and while the silver one looks nicer than the copper one is it worth the extra price per salvage?For the Endless Upgrade Extractor how hard is it to get exactly? I read you need to get it from a contract only availble from black lion chests...god I hate loot boxes... I would like also to dump all the various gathering tools I have taking up yet more inventory space so I was looking at permanent gather tools but again there seems to be more than one kind. In fact there seems to be a huge boatload of different ones as seen at the bottom of the page here:https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gathering_tool#Unlimited_Gathering_Tools Are these just cosmetic changes is there on in particular "kind" I should be getting? I read something about some of them having faster animations or gathering more per animation or somesuch? I need to buy both expansions but also want to get the items mentioned above, that said what other items should I be looking at so I don't go, "ah damn I should have bought that during the anniversary sale" two weeks after the sale is done? Obviously if I can afford it maybe bank space or max size inventory bag? Storage expanders? This seems like a must buy as I am already hitting the 250 cap on some mats. Living world seasons?

Just hope they have a really good expansion sale.

Needed another vote option for people like me that are new to the game. I do not know enough to have a valid opinion on these class mechanics changes. That what my vote would be.

As a long term mmo player all this two factor stuff is a little funny to me. What happened to a nice boring security question like whats your first pets name? Or which high school did you go to? etc etc Sad thing is the answers to these things can be so much gibberish that hackers will need super poweres to get around it unless they get inside help from anet.....I think all this sms mobile stuff is just ridiculous pandering to the fad as it not one bit safer than the above.

Like the title say I am pretty new to the game playing with my son and wife but solo quite a bit too. I don't like being zoomed out to far, it annoying when your characters looks like an ant. I zoom in at about the half way mark when fighting might zoom out a little more when just running around. PVE

Just wanted to say the son is playing warrior, wie is guardian and I am a mage. My wife and I are also playing 2nd characters, she is a ranger (longbow and greatsword) and I am a thief (daggers and pistols) we are using core open world build from metabattle and are quite enjoying doing map completions. I especially like using the Taco add on with that all in one map marker thing!

We would like to get both expansion but since I need to buy 3x of everything I kind of need to wait for a sale on the, I see there was one in march that sadly we missed. After some googling I think I can expect the next sale to be in August? Any other way or legit place/site to find coupon codes or rebates for the game?

Yes I thought snowcrows looked too specific for what I want for now and was planning on using the link to early basic guides while keeping an eye on metabattle open world builds. @Tommo Chocolate.5870 Yes I will look into the hotkeys, if I don't need to add a mod for mounts I wont if its not really necessary. I have looked into Taco though and it looks really interesting,, especially for the jumping puzzle stuff so I will be using it I think as it seems it allowed even though anet does not officially endorse it. I wonder what are some good marker packs to use? Cool ty all. I am all set on builds with the the metabattle/snowcrow sites and for early builds with the A Leveling Guide: Early Builds and Tips link. I have the action cam toggle turned on in the game settings, this wasn't there way back before HoT when I bought a core account, and does the trick nicely. Only thing I am missing is add ons or mods using the api that might be interesting. Was looking at something like AugTyr and the mount radial thing.

I love VR the new headset are getting even better and for the sickness welp anyone prone to car/boat sickness will have issues but for many other it simply a question of setting the headset up right, some people can't tolerate lower HZ and NEED 90hz while other are fine with 60hz which is why for some you want to get 90fps in your VR games though some can tolerate lower with no issues. For myself I can play game with the VivePro no issues, I find in games where you are flying or moving through the air without being in a vehicle or roller-coaster type content is easier to lose your balance if you try this standing up as the VR can really confuse your senses. You ideally want to simulate what you are doing in game irl, so if playing elite dangerous/racing game you want to be seated, skyrim VR you want to motion sensors on yourself so you can simulate walking while standing etc etc VR is only going to get better and I think it's here to stay this time around unlike in past attempts.

I played guild wars 1 long ago back in the day, in fact I have 16/50 things unlocked in the HoM... that said when GW2 came out I took a quick look but decided to wait on playing. I play games in "action mode" or using a mouse look camera view, you know where you use W or S to go forwards or backwards and moving the mouse allows you to steer which direction you are going in and allows you to look up and down. While this is often a basic option in the game setting in many games it wasn't for GW2 back when I took a look and was wondering is this is now provided by Arenanet in the game settings or must we still use a macro or mod to make this possible? Also my wife and son would likely be playing with me both of them on f2p account while I have a core account, if we really like it we may upgrade so we have access to all expansions. Question is any advice on what classes would play good together all three of us, I think my son would like warrior, have good synergy to make the game easier and maybe links to decent builds we can use and follow....my son tends to like playing sword wielding melee types I like them too but also enjoy mage types and my wife usually plays healer type but might like to try something else. Any other advice for people just starting out, you know things we should be doing or know and things to avoid doing, that are behind some of you that have been playing since day one would be nice too. Also what kind of currency should we be looking at saving up etc, I guessing there will be several different forms so start fresh with zero knowledge can be confusing. We will be more into PVE and not so much into pvp, EDIT: was looking into Ele's but seems they have been nerfed pretty hard over time so was wondering what are some OP class and builds, I like being able to steam roll stuff so to speak lol
