  1. I understand that the same fate would happen to every other quick/alac/heal providing class? Because why would you do it only to Specter? What about -15% damage reduction if you take Doubled Standards?

A good trade-off is when you have to sacrifice some stats for Concentration/Healing Power, or choose between two different traits.

Just look at Harbinger: you have 2 options: boost to DPS, or Quickness. This is how you create trade-offs.

  2. Wait, you call HoT main events META?

VB — waiting for a boss, then killing only one of them. This is not a meta.
AB — waiting during the "challenges" and then just smacking the DPS golems.
TD — one pre-event and then boss.

Only DS is real meta event there, because you have to do something in order to reach the final boss. So... EoD has already 5 real metas.

  3. Shadow Shroud is power based, but Specter itself is almost purely condi focused. Why?
    — Rework Shadow Shroud and make it more condi. Shroud should feel powerful, but instead it's just a filler in your rotation that does slighty better job than AA.

What is the point of cutting out 3 initiative points? To prevent us from using other weapons than Scepter?
    — Bring back full initiative and increase ini costs for Scepter skills. Being able to play D/D Specter shouldn't hold us back.

    The clunkiest class ever.
    — Fix Twilight Combo. The animation is weird, timing sucks.

    Wells are random.
    — Random condis, random boons. Why? Thief shouldn't rely on randomness. We rely on precise attacks, so please delete the "they don't already have" feature.

    Zero self support.
    — How many boons can you generate just for yourself? For most of the time you will have zero boons. This makes Specter one of the worst Open-World specs in this game, because boons are important. This is why Deadeye is superior to Specter, because DE is loaded with boons.

    Second Opinion Traits does nothing.
    — Come on, this is a blank trait for people who don't want to use Consume Shadow or Shallow Grave. You gain literally nothing useful, even for support specter. Do you realize that 200 healing power increases barriers by 50-120 points? (depends on skill).

There is so many wrong things about Specter. I don't care about DPS numbers in instanced content, because it still sucks. Boring rotation, slow skills, can't even run fast or generate decent amount of boons. Barrier isn't healing.

  4. Not fun:
    * WvW — I'm doing WvW only for Gift of Battle. I don't care about roaming, dueling, or making "my world" win something. I just want to flip the nearest camp and keep my T6 participation. But it doesn't mean I didn't have fun in WvW because firing random aoes at enemy zerg is kinda satysfying.
    * PvP — I tried PvP few times and I still don't understand what is the point of PvP. Isn't WvW better?
    * Living World Season 2 — I hate reading in games. The fact, that my character can't speak made me think I'm not important in this story... that I'm something worse than random NPC.
    * Living World Season 1 — Literally hours of unskippable dialogues and cutscenes.
    * Chalice of Tears — You know why.
    * Dungeons — I always feel squishy in dungeons; I hate being stunlocked and CC'd 7 times in a row, while my stability doesn't work for no reason.
    * Icebrood Saga (from No Quarter to the end) — Because I couldn't kill Bangar and Ryland by myself.

    Fun:
    * Meta events — taking a part in huge PvE event is kinda fun. Looting chests under Tarir is also fun. I miss HoT rewards.
    * DRMs — I like it because it's soloable so I can do it my way, without dealing with speedrunners.
    * HoT, LS3, PoF, LS4, EoD story — Having a speaking character makes this story 500% more dynamic than core/LS1/LS2.
    * Icebrood Saga (Broja Marches part) — Climatic.
    * Long term goals (legendary crafting) — I'm proud of having 3 lege armors, 6 runes, 5/6 trinkets, 9 weapons, griffon and skyscale. I like long term goal because I have a reason to play this game.

  5. I also have some cents:

Mesmer — terrible trait synergy for power specs, still suffers from zero bonus to crit chance and trade-offs at every step and decision.

Ranger — bows are terrible weapons, Fervent Force extremly overpowered.

Necromancer — only one condi weapon, useless utility skills, Blood Magic not being even a decend "support/healing" traitline. Death Magic focused on outdated minions.

Guardian — Axe AA animations are far from being smooth. Zero condi focused weapons, but only Dragonhunter is good at power damage.

Thief — situational dps spec, Specter being a big disappointment due to extreme clunkiness, lack of self-support and decreased initiative. Shadow Shroud almost 100% power focused, when Specter is clearly a condi class. Why?

Engineer — I don't think an exact copy of Ranger's main mechanic is a good idea.

Elementalist — still requires few reworks, especialy with Earth skills and traits. Earth fails at every role.

Revenant — poor choice of mainhand weapons.

Warrior — terrible design, "fidget spinner" fighter with access to many weapons but using mostly only 2 of them. Warrior should get a proper rework for better build diversity or return to "bannersalve" role only.

  6. Open World PvE is literally the base of this game and you won't really miss much by staying away from any instanced content. You won't be able to get some legendary equipment: armor, backpack and rings, masteries, collections and skins... and you will miss story behind fractals and raids.

But it won't hurt your gameplay for sure. Ascended armor is still craftable.

  7. The best thing about GW2 is that your gear is good today, and it will be good in 5 years. In many games everything you've worked on hard, might be garbage now, because there is BETTER gear to obtain.

WoW system is outdated and unfair — because it's not YOU who is really strong. It's just your gear. You are nothing without it. In GW2 everything is achieved by YOU. You can get even blue gear and still beat every content.

  8. Rifle Deadeye is much better at soloing champions than daredevil — you have boons, mobility, great single target damage, stealth to manipulate agro and range. Even Dagger/Dagger can bench super high, but there are of course some drawbacks: sometimes it's hard to switch targets (can be solved with Mercy skill, but who would waste an utility skill for it?)

Daredevil is better at killing groups of mobs and probably little safer in group play.

    You can always use both.

  9. If game is difficult to complete, most people will probably end up frustrated. Instanced content is locked behind Killproofs, because experienced players want to play only with experienced players. Perfect example: Strike Missions on Challenge Mode, Raids. Finally — this kind of content is played only by small percent of people.

You want people to play your game — so you have to make it accessible for them. Guild Wars 2 is supposed to be for everyone, especialy casuals, not only tryhards.

Keep it mind that not everyone likes being fragile, or afraid of failing. I like my safe and tanky builds. I like being hard to kill.

  10. 5 hours ago, Jeknar.6184 said:

You basically just CnD into Backstab every time Revealed wears off while pressing Assassin Signet and Shadow Flare on CD. Only on 25% you should add Heartseeker to the rotation for some 5 malice Backstabs.

    EZ DPS, but:

    * You need to strike behind target.

    * You need to be above 90% hp.

    * You can't get any random stealth or reveals.

    * Purely single target (literally 0 cleave).

    * Can't switch targets due to DE mark on recharge.

D/D DE works perfectly on a test golem, but in most raid/fractals fights it will be uneffective.

  11. It's not a "change", but more like a default feature in game. Timers.

Wanna do AB meta? Sure, but let me first introduce you to 15 MINUTES OF WAITING.

Wanna do TD meta? Sure, but what about 10 minutes of waiting between rewards?

"Pre event" before Fire Elemental, almost nothing happens there.

Timers after timers before certain metas (Chak Garent, DE).

    Time-gated stuff, like Provisioner Tokens.
