I've just come across this thread and I hadn't even realised there had been this change until I read it through, i haven't been able to play much the last month. For those of us with multiple accounts this really is a kick in the teeth. I don't know enough about computers to understand all this about local dat files and batch files, i just about managed to rename a short cut to work last time. Could you at least give us a drop down box so we can chose the account we want to use even if we then have to type in the password manually. The 'Remember account name' option only works for the last account you logged into, unless that has changed as well.

Still trying to get through 'The Departing' (I'm really starting to hate balthazar now, that fight is just tedious). I seem to get a little further each time, this time I got though the gate and into the cinematic, then my UI came back up and there was I standing there with with the cinema icon over my head then, black screen and back to the log in screen. Unless they can sort something out with this problem I can see it being a real problem when it comes to the next expansion, if you can't finish the story and they can't help you through it, a lot of us will be thinking twice before buying another installment. Please at least put in some check points so we don't have to keep doing the whole thing over and over again.

Just tried it again, this time taking my OH in with me, a tactic that worked for him on a different story step. We got further, we listened to Joko's rant, opened the gate at the top of the steps, tried jumping through the portal while Joko continued ranting and then DCed. Is there anyway you can check and if people are that close to finishing a section as some others seem to be as well, that part of the story could be credited to them. At the moment this is blocking progress for me, not only along the story line but my hope of starting the griffon quest as well (which I believe you need to have finished the story to start)

Still can't manage to finish the Departing episode, it DCed me exactly the same place as last time (which was while this thread was closed so the post is on the thread that replaced it at the time). I kill Balthazar, rind my name, find my purpose, kill the monster, listen to Joko and then just after I tell him 'I don't need you' it DCs. This time I got a black screen for a few seconds and then back to the character select page.

If memory serves me correctly, you didn't have to go far outside LA in the original GW before you started to come across Tengu, so maybe they just formalised their holding during the troubled years. If Anet aren't going to make Tengu a playable race, I personally, would like to see the areas opened up as normal open world areas and the Tengu as an antagonist race. They certainly have given cause for there to be bad feeling against them, anyone who played the first season of Living Story might remember how the Tengu were willing to shoot and kill anyone helping the refugees that got too close to their wall and gate.

Not to mention that as someone stated above, the Charr did domesticate the devourers. Can’t discredit that.Actually a human domesticated a devourer back in Guild Wars Prophecies. There was a quest in pre searing where you got two devourer eggs as the quest reward. After doing another quest where you kill an NPC's bull, you compensate him by giving him one of the devourer eggs. Later on after the searing you meet him again and he has a devourer pet called Joe, the NPC's name was Old Mac.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned but what about the language problem. I don't know about NA, but in the EU there are separate worlds for English, French, German and Spanish speakers. I would imagine it would be really awkward for an English speaker such as myself to suddenly end up on a world with only German or Spanish speakers ( I speak a little bit of French, but I doubt it would be enough to follow what was going on).

I had a similar problem, needed canyon jumping to finish the story, but needed the mastery point from the story to get canyon jumping. I ended up on Dulfy and found a wonderful table that listed all the commune mastery points by mount and mount ability. It turned out there was one just outside Amnoon that I had missed. After I got that it was plain sailing and now I have more mastery points and not enough XP again.

Did you do the story on an alt expecting a mastery point as I believe you only get them once per account for each story section. I would also suggest checking Dulfy, if I remember correctly there is a list of mastery points that is sorted by mastery level. I was having a similar problem but only needed one point, checking that site made me realise there was an easy commune one just outside Amnoon that I could get. That got me canyon jumping and then the rabbit mount and suddenly I have far more mastery points than I need at the moment and I'm back to filling in the experience bar. The achievement panel can also help as the points are arranged by area so you might be able to find some there that will help you carry on.

I have to disagree here. Like I said before, the pass is a CONVENIENCE item, and if you want extra convenience, you pay extra for it. If you don't want to buy it, then you suck it up and use other methods to get to Crystal Oasis. Like someone mentioned in this thread, you only have to start the story and jump off the airship to the off-limits area, that will teleport you to Amnoon. Fast and easy. My gripe is that they didn't tell me that without the Lily of Elon I would have to do the story on my alts and the map wouldn't open up automatically like in HoT, if I had know that might have made me buy the Deluxe version not the standard one, cash is tight so I opted for the standard. I thought the Lily of Elon would just be another lounge area with everything like bank, crafting stations etc. close together and not an essential option to get alts to the Dessert. I'm not big on doing story and I'm happy in a small (ok tiny) guild so I have accepted that we won't get a guild hall. I just want to quietly explore areas with whichever of my level 80s I feel like playing. I don't want to have to grind out the story or the mastery points just to choose which toon I play. If they would release the scroll like they did for Lake Doric or Ember Bay, or even put the Lily of Elon on the gem store then it wouldn't be so bad. At the moment I am looking at trying to save up 2400 gem (I think) to get the upgrade when all I want is the pass.

I love the new maps, there is a high enough density of mob to give enough to fight without feeling that everywhere is too empty or feeling swamped. There is also room to move about during a fight unlike the narrow paths of HoT. I am hoping that there are plenty of small hidden places for those of us that don't mind getting off out mounts from time to time can find and explore. I do find that everyone talks to your character the same regardless of the race of the character. As an altoholic I possibly notice this more than most, but while Kiel's remarks about Taimi having a teeny tiny body seemed fine when she was speaking to my human character, it did seem that my Asura necromancer should be getting rather more upset, she isn't exactly big herself. And as far as that story goes, it is now 5 down, 31 characters to go,. I really wish it had been mentioned when looking at the purchase options that the Lily of Elon Pass was the only real way to get an alt into the new areas without doing the story or relying on friends to port you in; and I still haven't been able to find out if the Lily of Elon Pass bought with £££ is the same as the Amnoon VIP pass that is included in the Deluxe upgrade which can be bought for gems. If they are the same, can you please have a word with people about consistency of naming things. There is no obvious word count on the forum and I can't be bothered to count and see how many that is, but that is more or a forum issue than a PoF one.

The Digital Deluxe Path of Fire Upgrade costs 2400 gems and includes 'VIP area in Amnoon'. Not sure is this is the same as the Lily of Elon Permanent Pass mentioned in the bought Deluxe option, If it is I might just start having to save gems. I do wish they would use the same terminology in things.

I was hoping someone would say that there was someone near the airship to talk to, or something like that to get me in. I've done the story on one character, but I don't really want to have to do it on the other 35 characters just to access the new areas to explore them.
