  1. I, too, agree, at least to the extent that condition damage should not scale so intensely. Utility conditions are tactical and fine, it's condi damage which there is literally no counter stat for which is so unhealthy for game balance cause people will just +70% condi duration spec and let the condis do all the work that they should be mashing their keyboards to do via direct damage.
  2. Yeah templates have had such a bad implementation I forget they even were introduced into the game
  3. Where is there a description for this? I don't see this in the traitlines or in the skills themselves. Also, it didn't do this before. It's done this since Holo debut as far as I know. It's not a feature worthy of a description - they just chose a fancy new UI for photon forge in the Red and for some reason added a 1s-(1.5s cooldown with chill) cooldown when high heat mode activates. The problem is that often you wait for the 6s forge cooldown and then try to leave Forge during this annoying extra cooldown and it doesn't work for obvious reasons. The problem is it does this multiple times in a row even with Enhanced Capacity Storage unit - there shouldn't be a false countdown timer, that's just bad!
  4. Where is there a description for this? I don't see this in the traitlines or in the skills themselves. Also, it didn't do this before.
  5. I used to have a thread I commented on every day asking them to fix this. Still a glaring bug. Visually unacceptable. Yeah, that too.
  6. It's clear as day to ANYONE who plays holosmith that the Disengage Photon Forge tool belt skill is bugged - in combat (PvE, PvP, WvW), it will randomly add an additional second needed before a player can disengage from Photon Forge, even after the cooldown timer has already reached that point! Please fix this, I reported this MONTHS ago (refer to my ticket history) and was told to just post about it in the forums since staff cannot do anything about such bugs in tickets. It's very frustrating to see that level of disengagement from resolving a genuine, easy-to-reproduce bug.
  7. I dread it because I don't know how you can have the current state of PvP... Bleeding its changes into PvE. I'm still upset Tool Belt skills for Holosmith are disabled upon overheat in purely PvE environments (I suppose it was fine to not make that the case in WvW, too, but come ON! In PvE? As if Raids weren't hard enough to do with randoms? I'm sure people who player other classes can relate on skills that were nerfed in PvE in addition to PvP, when PvP changes were the only changes potentially warranted.Persisting with numerous bugs that are EASILY replicated are still in the game that affect PvP MONTHS after I've reported them either via forum post or via direct ticket. I see that we STILL have not had Disengage Photon Forge's bug where the timer to disengage increases by 1 second, sometimes TWICE IN A ROW IN COMBAT - fixed. And that's for PvE as well. Persisting with a nerf philosophy that the way to nerf an elite specialization is to nerf the ENTIRE class, and not JUST the elite spec. Or to nerf a sigil because one build is a problem. Nerf the build, not the entire set of potential builds people can have.Persisting with the presence of at least 8 builds that have few counterplay options; Symbol Firebrand, Pistol Whip Thief, Permadodge Daredevil, Knockback Scrapper, Longbow/Greatsword Sic Em Soulbeast, One Shot Core Mesmer, One shot Core ele, Fire weaver. And then some other composition synergies which are just too much to deal with in the current meta, such as double heralds - so much CC, so much evade, it's becoming hard to have fun in PvP and that all got through whatever non-existent balance testing that was done.Persistent bugs that torment anyone who participates in Automated Tournaments regularly. Where players receive no QP, no PvP reward potions, no gold, and no mystic coins, and where support says they can't do anything to help, even though they can check logs on all of those things to verify, probably because management tells them they cannot. I seriously want unranked, ranked, and automated rewards chests for pvp to DOUBLE their gold payouts, partially to compensate for this issue and in general to encourage more people into PvP.So yes, I dread the upcoming balance changes because I have no faith in whoever's making the balance decisions.
  8. Look, for people whose APMs and mindset can scale into really high level gameplay, good for you, that's fantastic. But at some point, the build allows even less skilled players to consistently outperform all the other classes... an in this case, dagger pistol daredevils in particular using Roll for Initiative can just SPAM Pistol Whip without even thinking about it. Not only does it CC, but it also provides evade frames AND it has such high synergy with stealth and ports AND with a particular choice of traits, cleanses conditions. You can't fight it by dodging, they will out-evade you, they can remove revealed with their elite skill, so that's not much of a counter... I suppose the idea is that they are supposed to be glass, so just break them first? But that is broken down by all the other things it has working for it. Please nerf these trait lines and increase the initiative for Pistol Whip (because it's also a problem on core thief as well). Thank you.
  9. I do not usually play spellbreaker, but in spellbreaker vs. spellbreaker engagements where both me and a rival player have the magebane tether trait equipped, I honestly cannot tell sometimes if it is my tether that will pull the foe, or if it is the foe's tether that will pull me. I'd like the animation to be tweaked to make it easier to tell whose tether is whose. Yes, people will respond to this post "Oh, you can tell by the icon in the corner!" Yes, a very comparatively small icon that I might not be able to focus on in an engagement where precise timing is key... that's not a very good suggestion. I'd prefer the tether be blue (for friendly tether) or have a blue aura or something, and likewise, for a foe's tether to be red or have a red aura. Thanks.
  10. Warrior has a lot of stunbreaks, stab, and condi cleanse. Same for guard. Renegade can bunker better than a Prot Holo, and herald has access to frequent stunbreaks and evade frames and dwarf stance gives stab if they go that route. Rangers have plenty of access to stability and stunbreaks. Thief has plenty of stunbreak and evade frame access, in addition to stealth. Mesmers have plenty of access to evade frames and can kite like mad. Elementalists: tempests have access to frequent stunbreaks, as do weavers (in addition to evade frames). Scrapper has gyros and barriers that make up for the lack of stab on tools line, and even then they can always use other traitlines for stab as people have indicated on here. It's only scourge, core necro and reaper that can be ping ponged to death in comparable fashion to holosmith right now, but at least core necro and reaper have access to a secondary life pool and can corrupt the stab of a Holo at the same time (I feel for scourge mains). And yeah, people telling me to run other trait lines - you're essentially asking for rifle to be out of the viable competitive scene for holsmiths. It's already a sub par option to play sword-pistol, pistol-shield, pistol-pistol or even sword-shield (unless you bunker side node) for that matter. That literally leaves only rifle, and rifle is really restricted without the Tools line. maybe you could run something other than alchemy, though you'd lose Elixir E trait and that's a serious disadvantage. Like I once I could at least disengage from warrior duels, but lately, I just haven't been able to. Also, I get CCed by weavers where I honestly should have some stab. Elixir B isn't as viable as people are suggesting, and especially not if you remove the Alchemy traitline from yourself. Like it's in this unfortunate limbo. Game balance is based on one's ability to counter play and I really do not see great options for counterplay in the current meta. And no, I don't follow Metabattle; it's a decent place to find builds to base your own build off of, but perfection of a play comes from one's play style as well. Like people who run annulment on holo, yeah, maybe good if you fight 5 holos, but that's it. And also, why hasn't the disengage photon forge bug been fixed yet? It's obvious to anyone who plays Holo...
  11. After patch... Can't win vs. warrior (was already the case vs. spellbreaker pre-patch, but now all warriors dunk you)Can't win vs. ranger's longbow bursts, greatsword block -> CC combos and subtle gazelle animations that hit for 12K and are really hard to dodge since they are so fastCan't win vs. heralds, they will shread youCan't win vs. symbol FB's stupidly overpowered AOEs, and has a hard time vs. dragonhunters (YES, DRAGONHUNTERS)Can't win vs. reaper or core necro (We all know scourge is underpowered rn)Can't win vs daredevil and core thief's pistol whip (which is broken) and all their CCs, nor can it win vs a deadeye in constant stealth and one-shotting and CCingIt can't win vs mirage or one shot core mesmer (maybe could win vs chrono)It unfavorable vs burn weaver, and extremely vulnerable to one shot weaver and power air overload tempest buildsIt can't win vs. knockback scrapper That's what nerfing Elixir U did to holosmith. It's now a sub-par class. Thanks for whining without being educated all the time on forums and not understanding the role holosmith filled. It was meant to farm people who were underperforming in matches as it was the dmg-doing roamer. Now it gets farmed by someone with even 1 follow up CC and it's so awful. It feels Druid, man. You can have all the other nerfs (Heat Therapy, Quickness), but Elixir U needs at least 3 seconds base Stab in PvP.
  12. Ah, so I see my warnings about holo were not heeded AGAIN. They did to holo what they did to scrapper. Over-nerfed because people kept whining and not even because any valid points were made (there weren't any). It only needed a quickness nerf. This balance patch is really bad. Meanwhile, the bug where holosmith's disengage photon forge randomly adds one second is STILL not fixed. The community rightly saw the problems with condi mirage and thieves in general, but failed to see the problems of one shot mesmer, one shot ele, Longbow rangers (1500 range is just too much for what they can do), magebane tether's insane duration, and scrapper's knockback every 5 seconds. These are all unhealthy for a reasonable counterplay-based balance. Balance is based on another's ability to counterplay. But nope. No one listens to what the "holosmith enthusiast" has to say for whatever reason. Even though I identified the Elixir U endurance bug, I recommended a nerf to Holographic Shockwave radius or duration, etc. Nope. And I really have no idea where the condi cleanse of Toss Elixir R comes from? Who exactly complained about that? That honestly looks like something changed just to make it look like there is serious work being put into balance. I
  13. Yeah, not quite what I'm looking for. I want a brilliant yellow. It's funny cause the yellows work perfectly on the Exo-Suit for characters.
  14. I'm totally fine with Sigil of Agility changes, that Sigil should not be in PvP anyway. Yes, on thieves in general, thieves have passive evade condi cleanse AND a lot of stealth with which they can burst either dmg or condition bomb other players, and there is not very much in the way of counter play for that, by definition - you literally can't see it coming. I know everyone's going to just call me a "holo enthusiast" and honestly I don't care because exactly what I said would happen happened for the previous holo nerfs and toolbelt skills being disabled on overheat - it just made the holosmith mains manage their heat better, and therefore, MORE effective. Honestly, that change needs to be undone because people who overheat pretty much have to run away anyway or are guaranteed dead. I don't understand how people did not see that coming. Meanwhile, Photonic Blast Module continues to punish holosmith players for USING THE MECHANIC IT REQUIRES OF THEM, aka, overheating. How that has not been changed baffles me.I am actually okay with the nerf to Kinetic Battery, but I am absolutely not okay with the Elixir U stability reduction. I use that to stomp players comfortably without having to pop Elixir S or be forced to add heat with yet ANOTHER Corona burst to get the stability I need. People told me to "Just dodge, ape" when I highlighted the issue with longbow ranger's 4 whole seconds of unblockable at 1500 range being a seriously broken option for longbow rangers - you actually cannot dodge enough (unless you already have excessive endurance like staff daredevils or are a Wilderness Survival Soulbeast). Elixir U needs to stay as is. Warriors already have enough CCs to deal with it, Dragon hunters and Firebrands can hold their own against it, thieves steal the boon or stealth away and kite, rangers and soulbeasts have enough boon access to duel against it, mesmers and mirages already have enough evades or clone baiting to deal with it (chronomancers are kinda dead regardless), scrappers can bunker it (we all know core engi isn't great), Heralds can evade and kite well enough to deal with it, Renegades can just slow and chill, elementalists can either out bunker or kite (if you're continually eating my Light Strikes, that's your own problem, not mine). Like the other classes have means to deal with the quickness, it's no less troublesome than the other one shot buils. Also, I'm very concerned that Coolant blast and Cauterize have not been buffed yet - their only use is in raids and even that usage is dwarfed by the healing power of all other heal skills. How the Rune of Resistance + Elixir X bug (aka where players do not get resistance) has not been fixed troubles me. The bug where an extra second is required to disengage photon forge on holosmiths has not been fixed troubles me. These are known bugs. I reported the fact that Elixir U granted a boost of 25% endurance and that was fixed (thank you) and how Spectrum Shield neglected to mention -50% condition damage in its description (thank you), but why so slow on the response to these other bugs?
  15. All the yellow dyes in the game fail to produce a genuinely yellow color on the exo-suit of the Griffon. I want an Inquest Exo-Suit griffon with yellow wings! But I can't have that because all yellows turn to orange on its wings... :persevere:
  16. Can you please make Photonic Blast Module viable in PvP? It's worthless as a trait because it punishes you for doing what it asks! Can you please buff Coolant Blast, the healing is too little compared to the other healing classes, or at least get rid of the self-burning Cauterize does.I think the Heat Therapy nerf is excessive, personally. If you believe holosmiths heal too much, add a second to Holo Leap so there are fewer opportunities to leap combo through water fields. And someone's gotta control those spellbreakers with their magebane tethers that literally last longer than the invuln duration of Mist Form on elementalists and Elixir S on engineer; if not holosmith, then you're really limited on options... condi thief? Going to be nerfed. Condi mirage? Going to be nerfed. Soulbeast? It's range is there, true, that's about it. Scourge can't do it as well post nerf.
  17. Yes, because spellbreaker, deadeye, daredevil, reaper, herald, dragonhunter, and to some extent soulbeast are not enough counters for people. Condi thief wreaks chaos on the battlefield in a way that only a pure cleanse build can deal with and only support FB or mender's tempest can heal. For your information, I bring Seeker's Amulet (YES, SEEKER's AMULET) to ranked PvP and people complain about how broken my class is. Maybe use your CCs. My build is strong, but carries a counter-able risk factor with it. I have no issue with condo thief at all. I actually think it fits perfectly in a game filled with still broken OP holo, mirage is far more anoying and cheese filled spec than any spec or class in the history of mmo's will ever be, splb with their super sustain and dps, fire weavers with their burn u to 0 in one sec while having great sustain and lb slb who arnt skilled enough to play the class melee and sit back and pew pew pew pew pew all while doing the same dps or more as a spec that has to be in close to do its dps. These post are pointless cuz gw2 is a literal joke of a pvp game if ur expecting any sort of balance regarding almost ever class especially the hot and pof specs lol. So who cares. You're going to tell me Auramancer should just die to condis that thief puts out? That's completely nonsensical. That should be a stall matchup, but nope, POSION. POISON. POISON. You can't cleanse it when literally every shout and overload and aura cleanses conditions. STILL not enough. I'm sorry, but that's unacceptable. And yes, condi mirage is also overtuned (as is longbow's range on soulbeast, as is magebane tether's ability to go through objects and persist after downing and death). But if you continue to refuse to acknowledge the problem that is condi thief, don't be surprised when it gets nerfed into nonexistence like chronomancer was and scrapper was. I at least had the decency to say where holosmith was overpowered (holographic shockwave range) and that Elixir U was bugged to a holo's benefit. So I don't want to hear this nonsensical "he's a holosmith enthusiast" rhetoric. A balanced game has counters that, by corollary, can be countered in a reasonable amount of time. 168 hits of poison in 2 SECONDS is not counterable in a reasonable amount of time, especially when it's been applied after previous stacks of poison that required cleanses. And this isn't a "you're playing the wrong profession" thing. This applies to all classes, even firebrand. You may want to counter by saying that most people cannot play firebrand, which is actually something I acknowledge, but at the same time, if only like 10 people can play it well (i.e., if it doesn't scale well), what about at least 90 other individuals who play firebrand? It shouldn't just be balance patches for the absolute best, it needs to be reflective of a broader group of individuals who play decently but maybe aren't the absolute best at the game.
  18. This is exactly what I am referring to: https://www.twitch.tv/chromodynamix/clip/BlushingAffluentSproutTTours
  19. I'm not sure if this was the intended use of photon wall, but I notice that when I use the Particle Accelerator skill (which pierces enemy players and goes through them), whenever I use this on a holosmith with Photon Wall engaged facing away from me, the particle accelerator projectile will reflect off their Photon Wall (if they are above 50% heat) and hit me. I don't think this was how Photon Wall is supposed to work - it's supposed to block and reflect in the line of sight of the user, not all around.
  20. As much as I agree with the sentiment, Ragnar, the problem is for 1550+ players - when searching for matches, after about 5 minutes, the game will start including gold-rank players in search, kind of ruining that sampling distribution.
  21. https://clips.twitch.tv/GeniusLitigiousPonyOneHand - When a person queues into solo ranked PvP, and is invited to a party and accepts that invite, their queue into ranked continues, despite the game prompting the player with a warning that accepting the invite will remove them from queue. Even so, the queue continues and the new party that the player is a part of cannot queue into unranked PvP.
  22. Or u could just avoid being hit by the burst skill in any number of ways. I'd call that tons of counterplay. If u could use tele or movement skills to get away that would defeat the purpose and if u already can it should be changed so u cant. only teleports should break tether, not all movement skills! avoiding the burst skill might not be possible for all classes. I'd say an equally skilled warrior should definitely find a way to hit you with one at some point. so that should not be a reason for the lack of counterplay to tether At some point you should expect your opponent to actually land a hit of some sort. Pardon if I have interpreted this incorrectly, but you SHOULD have to deal with your opponent's class mechanics and how well they mesh (or don't mesh) with your own. It...seems like you're expecting to go the entire time without taking a hit from FC? Which is a bit unreasonable, I think. On my necro, I definitely expect to get hit with it at some point, so I save a cooldown for it. That's not unbalanced. There is counterplay. You can leave, proc the tether and break the CC (or kite and ensure it's broken in a way that the warr can't follow up on), or not break it and you've...saved a stunbreak or something, but the warr gets might. It is totally feasible to reserve a skill, dodge, etc for FC as well. Really, I still have beef with rampage, but that's about it. Now, rampage COMBINED with FC could be an issue, because they gain a massive chunk of health, dmg reduction, stab, might (and thus health and end), but that's still more a rampage problem, not a tether/FC problem.Yes, but the fact that it's not LOS and that it continues even after spellbreaker is downed make it broken. That needs to be fixed.
  24. Needs to be converted into a line-of-sight mechanic (instead of going through walls and terrain and bunch of other nonsense) Magebane tether's duration shouldn't be so long (reduce to 2 seconds, please so that Elixir S can actually counter it). And no, "just dodge" isn't an excuse, and neither is stability (gets stolen by Spellbreakers). The tether persists even when the spellbreaker is downed and even when they are DEAD! That's busted.
