  1. Lets stand there while full glass ranger does the kamehameha wind up and than releases a channeled ability with clear visual and sound queue, eat it whole over 2,5 seconds and go complain on forums that I got "1 shot".Tried it, ditched it. Sure you might kill some baddies from time to time but after that you have nothing and you are useless for anything else anyway.

Warclaw is not a game changer. It is cute little addition.

Ah cmon. Warclaw is a huge game changer. Extra speed in home territories, extra evades, extra hp bar... Sorry but it changed almost all aspects of WvW. And very rarely I see commanders that don't run with it. I mean the response to what is happening on maps is just to slow these days.

People here making comparison with pve games/modes. The most successful games these days are competitive pvp f2p games with cosmetic micro transactions like Fortnite, LoL. Add a p2w features in those games and you will very quickly see it fail.In the end WvW is a competitive mode or at least I hope they want to have it like that. Every p2win addition will only further reduce the player base. Myself I don't care how much the guy on the other side spent on the game, I would prefer we would all be on the same playing field so wins are skill based and not wallet based.

  3. I think a mix would be in order. I am no expert on this so maybe this is already in the game anyway.Basically most mobs should have "normal" 600 range. It is really annoying that you have to kill 5 Jaracandas just to mine a node. Then there should be more aggressive mobs that for example guard certain areas, enemy patrols, ambushes. Maybe even call for backup if you pose a threat. This would also make the game feel more alive.I'm not sure that Dragonfall mobs have bigger range though. I actually found the map fun to explore and didn't notice unusual aggro from mobs. If anything it felt better than original PoF maps where the map is so full of some long range annoying mobs that you really can't dismount.

They should also get 200 free gems per week since they can't convert gold to gems. It's not fair that people who paid get such an advantage!

How about we add a feature that gives players extra power in wvw based on the amount of money they spent on the game? One is expansion is nothing compared to what many people spent on the game. Why should people that spent that measly amount on PoF and Hot be on the same level field as those who regularly buy gems. Warclaw was not part of Pof anyway. Only people that spent more than 40 $ in the last 2 months should have it.

That's a very valid point that I think people need to recognize ... loyal players DO get rewarded in this way. If someone decides to leave for a few years and they come back and are irrelevant in some way, Anet shouldn't be going out of there way to accommodate those players without some cost to those players. In this case the cost is a hard slog to earn the mount. Maybe Anet makes it so you can rent a mount ... I'm not against the idea, but the rent better be more than the effort to earn it outright.

The big problem is that there isn't much business case to accommodate flighty players ... they already demonstrate extreme levels of non-commitment to the game. I can't see why would Anet implement that system for the least loyal players.

Warclaw is just one little thing in the whole content that PoF has to offer. They would not be able to use it outside WvW. It benefits they game mode if everyone is on even grounds. I don't want to have p2win stuff in any form of pvp. Why they should implement such a system? Because it would be good for everyone and I don't think it is an income factor at all for them. I don't really understand the I paid for it so no one should have it for free argument especially if it benefits the whole.

  6. And that is why I always like to return to HoT and barely touch the PoF. And most HoT HPs are still soloable you just need to get prepared. Just last week I managed to get all the Hot points on my new character excluding some in Tangled Depths. Solo, just put on mentor tag at some of the harder ones and people almost always came.

Forums typically represent a very small portion of the entire player-base. It seems to me that ANet knows that they will gain more revenue with flashy effects that will attract the most players in their targeted demographic. I won't go so far as to say that they don't care if some players have health issues that may be impacted by this decision (and others -- search the forums for the spider phobia threads); however, at the end of the day they will market/produce a product that will be the most profitable.

Sorry, but I believe that flashy effects are here to stay.

These effects are ways for players to show off, and if ANet implements a feature that allows players to disable the effect, then the perceived value of these items is significantly lowered. This lowering of perceived value might discourage players from spending time/money going after items that produce these effects which will impact ANet's bottom line.

And the bottom line is really what is important here.

It is just an option that many games have to increase performance. It is already to some extent in the game where you can disable all the fancy skins. The skins are not the problem. I don't have an issue with any skin, wardrobe part. The biggest problem are the skill animation and their scaling with enemy size. The generic ones that are available to anyone. When in a big train you literary do not see anything but strobs and flashes. My screen is fully covered with generic strobs, my performance drops to few frames per second and I can not see enemy designs, player designs and their flashy armor, their legendary animations. If anything this option would enable me to actually see those fancy legendaries, now I can't even see players. I am just tab targeting until I target the desired mob. And than if I am melee I try to look for the dmg numbers to see if I am in range because I definitely can't see my player model.I literary do not know how some bounties look like because they have smaller models and I have only done them in big trains.
