Icebrood saga and other extra content

Recommended Posts

I am contemplating on starting a new account and I'm wondering if I buy the EOD Collection Edition will it include everything the game has up to this point including both expansions and all the extra sagas that were added over the years? It's not exactly clear on the write up whether the extra DLCs are included as well, I also couldn't find a bundle deal or something along those lines to add those to a new account.

Thanks in advance.

I would recommend you to buy PoF seperate from EoD and not as EoD collection which contains all expansions in one package as you will loose one Shared Inventory slot compared to buy each package one by one. PoF will come with one filled with a level 80 booster in Shared Inventory slot and EoD will have another one.

You can compare here from EoD Collection (standard and up to Ultimate have the same base combination with one Shared Inventory slot).

https://buy.guildwars2.com/en-gb/collection

Here you see PoF (tooltip is a bit unclear as page doesn use "Shared Inventory slot" like other web shop pages do, but it is the same as described above which means a Shared Inventory slot filled with a level 80 booster): https://buy.guildwars2.com/en-gb/path-of-fire

https://buy.guildwars2.com/en-gb/end-of-dragons

As HoT can not longer be bought (it is includes in base package  which is PoF today), you will not be able to get a Shared Inventory slot from that purchase. There is maximum 25 slot (22 you can buy in Gem Store) and one from each expansion which means 3 (HoT, PoF and now EoD).

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shared_Inventory_Slot

There is a 50% sale on PoF that wil end in 31th December. Here you see which partner that have this sale: https://www.guildwars2.com/en-gb/news/big-sales-on-gem-cards-and-guild-wars-2-path-of-fire-this-weekend/

If you plan on getting Skyscale then you will need to have at least Living World Season 4 War Eternal.

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skyscale

I would also recommend to get all IBS as a package in Gem Store (you need to go there and NOT pruchase each episode from Story section to get reduced price). With IBS you get access to Mastery that are related to Bjora Marches, the Hub which is called Eye of The North that you can upgrade with vendors, craftstaition and portals (through one Asura Gate) to other places in game etc. You can read more about what you wil get from wiki: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Icebrood_Saga

The reason I recommend IBS is that Mastery includes two new skills for mount, one a stealth (shared among all mounts) and second is that Skimmer now can both dive in water and be summoned while still in water (before that you can only use Skimmer when on surface or land and speed up/hover a bit above surface). This make it possible to travel faster while still be in water with Skimmer).

You can see which time each part of story have been given away for free (window of which one where given an item by ingame mail when one logged in) on GW2 wiki, but we don't know if that will still be a new circle of free "Return to" that start after EoD have become public in Februar 2022 (which is the plan). The main reason with having LW season 2 is that you will get faster Core Tyria Mastery from doing those story parts as otherwise you have to look through which Core Mastery that you can do from Core content. Same for HoT Mastery which is part of Living World Season 3, here I would at least buy Out of the Shadow (only the first episode named Out of the Shadow) to unlock Unstable Magic and to get access to Ancient Magic (Counter Magic which adds a skill that are used in manu other places in this game).

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Out_of_the_Shadows

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Counter_Magic

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bloodstone_Fen

Bloodstone Fen is good place to start farming for Ascended Back Item, Ring and Amulet that can be bought from Scholar Rakka. As long you have invested in some upgrades for Gliding from HoT Mastery, then you shouldn't too much problem with this map. Get Mushroom (to jump up from), get Ley line (to glide up from when you are at buttom of that crate in Maw as updraft is not high enough to get up to top again) and buy those skills that can purchased from ships Unbound Magic NPC  vendor.

An unused Level 80 boost is sitting in a account-wide shared storage slot. It will be selectable on other characters after you created one.

When you activate it you get a choice to make the boost final. Then it is consumed and no longer available for other characters. You can buy more level-80 boosts at the gem store.

Please note that it is generally advisable not to boost to 80 on a new profession (class) that you don't know yet. Leveling your character yourself allows you to learn how to play the profession step by step. If you just boost to 80 you get your skills unlocked at once, but you're probably be left clueless about how to play.

Yes, they do. Check the Gem Store frequently.

@Erinyes.3596

I would suggest you keep an eye on this thread:

Astral Projections.7320 have done a very good job over all these years at keeping track on which items that will be in Gem Store and which items that will have a reduced price.
