Mining bots and afk farms

Recommended Posts

Hi, as a part of my daily gw2 routine I gather the rich mining nodes around the map, and have been noticing a lot of mining bots, that have almost same name and many many same looking characters logging in at the same time, mining and then logging out. Another thing, some spots have the afk farmers running into a wall, and killing different mobs with their pets/minions.

Could this be addressed by arenanet? It's crazy disappointing to see especially those afk farms, same dudes there week after week. I've submitted reports on each but they are still alive and kicking.

Here’s how the thread will go:

You're going to have a few people come and say that those people are not AFK. It doesn’t matter if they’ve been there nonstop for days or weeks on end with no break. You may even get one of those farmers themselves to come on here to spread doubt.

Soon after, this thread will be locked by a mod and they’ll simply tell you to use the reporting feature in game.

I have noticed the same thing in maps like DS. What makes it hard to report them is that they just (seem to) TP from node to node and I am not that fast that I could report them. If you see them you could try to get a screenshot and then manually report it and hope something happens. I think the manual reporting is done via ticket

The way I see it, the pet/minion activity or character movement animation only shouldn't count as activity and result in a disconnect. There is no real use-case for the auto-run feature, most maps are so small that if you run for a minute you're pretty close to the edge already.

Or at least handle the reports in a way that makes the community able to do the spotting for you if there is no technical preventive measure to implement.

Which is the correct way to handle this, according to Anet.  If the OP uses the forums search feature, they would see the countless threads with this exact result.

Thouger rules ins't the solution, theres ppl whos "chill"/take a break.

What anet need is just a "online" gm.

When the first wave gotta banned the rest will be disincouraged.

Hello Everyone,

If you witness any of these acts while playing, please submit an in-game report or a ticket to our Customer Support team, so they can properly investigate the matter.

Regards.
