Why are the gun noises so goofy?

What's with the "PING PANG POW ZING!!" 1960's Batman comic noises. Of all the guns...this gun should have an intimidating sound.

 

They could literally use basic public assets of rifle shot noises and it would be better than current...and that would take a single dev about an hour of work lol.

First time I'm hearing gw2 being called a korean mmo too lol. It's about as korean as wow is chinese.

 

It's a fantasy/steampunk mmo, not CS:Go

I find it odd it never seemed to bother you for so long as to get predator until showing your friend?

It's fantasy. I don't want a realistic assault rifle sound in a game about dragons and exploding clones into butterflies etc.

It's supposed to be a bit silly because it's PG13, and that's perfectly fine.

 

Your friend just probably didn't like the game and looked for an excuse.

interesting - always felt it sounded like a tennis rack vs a ball.... (might be due to the motion on asuras ). And I agree with "if someone judges, or lets be fair call it "assesses", because the friend obviously does not have enough information to "judge"  a game after a few cursory moments, he was not interested in it at all. Also, Predator sort of has a silly sound

AH! Now that you mention it, it does kinda sound like a tennis racket! 😄

Charr also kinda have that motion too, just never thought about it that way. 😄

And, the projectile is a ball lol!

Never really listened for the sound, of the top of my head I have no idea what gun/rifle I have equiped. But today I noticed the sound. It sounds like a guitar string snapping... I had to laugh ;).  Might be because I read this tread though.
