In LS3 maps you need the common currency (Unbound magic) and the currency of the specific map (blood ruby, etc.) for buying ascended items from vendors. Just do the story and the events on the maps and you will get those. You can look at the wiki, it has a lot of information. Here are the map currencies of the Season 3 maps: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Blood_Ruby https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Petrified_Wood https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fresh_Winterberry https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Jade_Shard https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fire_Orchid_Blossom https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Orrian_Pearl

Just bunch of magic shards idk what they do. @Zok.4956 beat me to it lol. But i can add hat you can download Blish HUD, it has a pathing add-on, it'll tell you exactly where to go to farm them fast and easy. Also, if you have all the living world episodes you can do "return to" achievements. Each episode will give you about 250 of that map's currency. Or more. But i think they're only accessible once you finished the stories, not sure. In any case, it's worth doing long run. In Ls3 you get each maps currency and Unbound magic. In Ls4 you get each maps currency and Volatile magic. You need Unbound magic + map currency to buy an ascended trinket from LS3 vendors. You get both plenty for just playing there so don't worry about it too much. But if you want to speed it up, you can farm nodes. What you're getting in LS4 is probably volatile magic, and depending on what map you are on, that map's currency. They're also used to buy special items from LS4 vendors. Some of them also have ascended trinkets, but it's cheaper and easier to grind those in LS3 maps because you can use volatile magic to buy trophy shipments. So it's kind of a waste to use them on ascended trinkets when LS3 stuff have better ones anyway.

How about an infusion? 😄 Preferably one that makes sense with your build and utilizes its attributes. If you don't know how infusions work or look, you should (1) click on the link I gave you, (2) check the Trading Post for prices (cosmetic infusions are expensive), and (3) watch videos on YouTube for cosmetic infusions' effects. The link has follow-up links that will tell you acquisition methods for each type of infusion. I recommend normal infusions as you sound like a new player and certainly cannot afford any of the cosmetic ones yet. Also, applying only one infusion on only one piece of gear doesn't provide enough of a bonus to be worthwhile. You should wait until your character is fully geared up in ascended armor and weapons. As for Unbound Magic, check the vendors in Living World Season 3, which is where it's the main currency. There's everything you can do with it there. Or go in game, look for vendors that have unbound magic symbol above their heads, they're usually at the starting point of the map, and check what they have. You need both unbound magic AND the map-specific currency. On the right side of the table, under "availability" you'll see which Season and Episode you need for each of those trinkets, so you can make your choice (winterberries are pretty easy to gather and have fresh nodes for each character on your account).
