LoverNoFighter.9413
I'm getting a SSD drive and was wondering if I can just copy the GW2 game folder from my old drive to my new? Hopefully I don't have to reinstall the game cause that will reset all my options? Any advice much appreciated. Thank you.

Danikat.8537
I did this when I got my new computer, I installed the hard drive from my old PC as an additional drive, then just cut and pasted GW2 to where I wanted it. But if you do need to reinstall you won't lose all your settings. I think some things revert to the defaults, like whether it's running in full screen or windowed mode, but a lot of things stay the same. I've had to do that a few times as well, but not recently enough that I remember for sure.
SoftFootpaws.9134
This game doesn't actually have a traditional installation. It'll just run from wherever you put it as long as Gw2-64.exe and Gw2.dat are intact, with the second file being the 50+GB datafile where everything is stored. It downloads some other stuff every time you run it, but those files are easily replaced. Note that it does need to be in a folder thats writable by your user (i.e not in Program Files or similar). Randin.5701
Just did the same thing a couple weeks ago, and yes, copy and paste works just fine. Just remember to make a new desktop shortcut once you've moved it over.
sadatoni.6524
I procured a new computer, installed GW2, started it up, and everything I had was still there. Sure, it took some time to download, but in the end it didn't make any difference.
Defias.1892
You can just copy and paste the entire folder over and then run the exe, you will have to retype your credentials and adjust your settings though
