Torment-Burning: They are way too powerful to be attached to auto-attacks!

Recommended Posts

You should not be able to DPS people to death with the auto-attack.... by spamming the most OP conditions like Burning and Torment. How does it make sense to balance the game with something like this : https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fragmentation_Shot when you go and then add https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vicious_Shot , can you spot the difference in terms of dmg, CMC?

Bleeding - https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bleeding

VS

Torment -https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Torment

Burning - https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Burning

Really to be considered balanced, skills like Fragmentation shot should have 5 stacks of bleeding  ...not a single one, to make things even

I don't know about torment but Burning definitely does WAY too much damage. Ele and Guardian burning builds burst as hard as power builds, which is just stupid. The whole point of condi is that it's supposed to kill slower than power, since condi builds can give themselves more tankiness, because they don't need 3 offensive stats to reach their full damage potential.

You are going to have to explain your reasoning to me.

For reference from the wiki

Torment:

While moving (WvW and sPvP): (0.054 * Condition Damage) + 19.8 damage per stack per second.

While stationary (WvW and sPvP): (0.07 * Condition Damage) + 26 damage per stack per second at level 80.

Burning:

(0.155 * Condition Damage) + 131 damage per stack per second at Level 80.

Bleed (since it's balanced for some reason compared to the other 2):

(0.06 * Condition Damage) + 22 damage per stack per second at level 80.

Mathematically 1 stack of torment is slightly weaker against moving targets than 1 stack of bleed but stronger against stationary targets. 1 Stack of burning is equivalent to 3-5 stacks of bleed depending on user's condition damage. I do believe that burning and bleeding are redundant as there are no mechanical differences in how they work where all the other damaging conditions have some unique mechanic to them. Regardless, it seems to me like they can reasonably be balanced against each other by giving each stack of burning the same value as ~3-5 stacks of bleed and adjust stacks and durations accordingly. Please explain to me like I'm 5 what makes burning/torment so much more overpowered than bleeding that they should never be allowed on auto attacks? Or are we going to move the goal posts and disallow bleeding on auto attack? At that point why should power weapons still be allowed to do damage with auto attacks? Also, what torment based auto attacks are killing you so much that you felt obliged to make this post?
