ronkul.1320
Warrior Off Hand Sword Suggestion: Make Riposte have a flip over skill for the counter attack part instead of auto counterattacking when in melee range like how counterattack has counterattack kick flip over for the ranger great-sword. This change would make warrior off hand sword more versatile and have active play-ability, while being placed in line with other non shield blocks in the game such as warrior staff block, revenant's warding rift, revenant's Imperial Guard, and ranger's counterattack. 2

XSevSpreeX.2143
Legitimate question due to ignorance, but what's the utility benefit? I can see it maybe being more satisfying to trigger it manually due to being more interactive, but one could also argue it's an inconvenience to add another key press to an action.

That I understand, but what specific scenario would you want that for this particular skill? Also, it wouldn't really be a "riposte" anymore by definition if it's not an immediate follow up, so then the name wouldn't make a lot of sense. Why do you need to know a specific scenario to know that having the option to hold onto a flip-over ability is a good thing in general? 5 hours ago, XSevSpreeX.2143 said: Also, it wouldn't really be a "riposte" anymore by definition if it's not an immediate follow up, so then the name wouldn't make a lot of sense. "Backbreaker" implies heavy damage to an enemy, yet it barely even tickles them in WvW and sPvP. "Phantom Onslaught" implies something non-physical rushes towards the target, yet the very physical Revenant himself/herself is the one rushing. With a bit of searching. you'll find enough abilities in the game that do not actually do what the name suggests. Riposte could simply become one of them. If you don't like holding onto it, you could just immediately click it. Edited February 24 by Fueki.4753
Guy.9207
Off-hand sword is one of those weapons that could use an update (basically all Warrior weapons but shh), namely the blocking and flip skills. That said, Sword 4 has its uses in both condi application and enabling Tactics' Leg Specialist trait that allows you to hit harder to foes with cripple and such, as well as gaining might (which seems to be something that goes together with Warrior in general tbh) and deal big damage with the flip skill. Sword 5 could be used as an offensive shield and deals a lot of bleeding at melee range, or if you run it on power, some not-so-great-but-still-there strike damage. None of these matter though because I would rather run it over Torch just because of the aesthetics alone. Edited February 24 by Guy.9207
