Question about Hero Point Scrolls

Recommended Posts

Can Hero Point Scrolls help with map completion?

For example say there is a Hero Point Challenge in Tangled Depths no one wants to help you with atm, and you have all the other hero points unlocked, will the Hero Point Scroll complete the challenge for you for that map (in this case Tangled Depths)?

Technically they can, issue is that as the tooltip reads, they complete a random Hero Point from that expansion, so you either have to be lucky, or complete all the rest so the game will have to pick that one

I haven't used the gem store version but that's exactly how it works when you use a Notarized Scroll of Maguuma Heroics in WvW (or the equivalents for other regions).

There's only a finite number of hero points available in the game, so the scrolls automatically complete a challenge and give you the points instead of generating new ones, but which one it completes is random.

Right, I assumed they were talking about those, not the gemstone ones, I forget those even exist honestly.

If you use those scrolls from Gem Store and you have finished all Hero Challenge for that zone in this case Tangle Depths which is part of Heart of Maguuma zone, then you will instead get currency into your Wallet.

Remember that every character need to unlock maps and that includes for unlocking elite specialization (profession), so you would want to avoid using Proof of Heroics currency when it can be used to purchase unlocks of Elite Skills faster (after you have unlocked Core Profession for that character as you should have gotten Tome of Knowledge which can be used to level up your character to level 80 and unlock Core Profession - no need to do Core Tyria Hero Challenge in that case).

The other option is to get currency to use Heroics Notary and purchase those unlocks instead of doing HP or HC on maps.

For Core Maps (Notarized Scroll of Central Tyrian Heroics😞

Notes

  • Does not grant experience.
  • Will not appear for sale to characters with every Central Tyrian hero challenge completed.
  • WvW hero challenges and the Krait Obelisk Shard count as Central Tyrian challenges for a total of 214 notarized scrolls before they credit Proof of Heroics.
  • Consuming one of these scrolls when all applicable challenges have already been completed will instead credit a Proof of Heroics directly into your wallet.
  • Will only grant 188/189 for Central Tyria Map completion. The last Hero point will have to be completed in person.

FYI if you are talking about the achievement that is Map Completion or World Completion, then you don't need to complete HC for TD to get Map Completion which will give you Gift of Exploration as part of reward, an item that is used for Legendary crafting.

If you have trouble to solo Hero Challenges then try to time with larger events like meta for maps  when meta is going on that map (use LFG panel and look for when there is a group going there) and ask for help during that phase when players are waiting for that door to open for the final reward.

There is a delay from last stage of final boss (three paths) and when door will open to reward and to another map (portal to Dragonstand).

Yes, they complete the actual hero point on the map and count towards map completion.

No, it isn't map specific, it will only complete that hero point if you have completed all other hero points in all expansions you own. The one it will complete is random among the ones you have not yet completed.

You can also use the Heroics Notary vendor in World vs World to target core hero points or a specific expansion too. They otherwise work in the same way.
