Skalleper.1208
Is there any way my old files, e.g. a 18GB .dat file, from 2014 (!) can be used for reinstall, avoiding having to download it all?
RoseofGilead.8907
There have been a ton of updates since 2014. You'll end up downloading a ton, regardless of whether or not you use the old .dat file. 2
Staax.7305
The game is 70gb nowadays so I recommend downloading the whole thing to avoid trouble.
Teknomancer.4895
Delete that file and start over. It's 10 years out of date for a live-service game; why would you even consider using that? 🤨
Healix.5819
You can just launch Gw2.exe and it'll update; note it'll change to Gw2-64.exe. If you only have Gw2.dat, download Gw2Setup-64.exe, rename it to Gw2-64.exe, place it in the same folder as Gw2.dat and run it.
TheQuickFox.3826
Just delete the old file. It will be more efficient as starting with a new .dat will make sure there is no internal .dat fragmentation or space gaps.
