Worst PvE encounter (Jade Armor Champ at The Atirum PoI)

Idk who designed this encounter but they definitely did not think things through or test this with how obviously and apparently stacked against the players this event is

Champion Jade Armor boss at The Atirum PoI event has the leyline champ abilities of the Melee/Ranged Circle and the Tormented ground AoE, which is fine but not when the enemy has a skill who's vacuum pull attack is so strong and so long that you can't even get to the ranged circle to do damage. And then also having the Ether towers (murssat towers) that give you a butt load of damaging conditions including cripple on the edge of the ranged circle is terrible. Even if you do destroy the Ether towers they respawn like 10-15 secs later cause of how they need to respawn for heart progress or something. AND the boss also constantly reapplies protection and resistance so you can;t even damage the boss.

So the boss is taking less damage cause players can't even get to the right areas to damage it AND its taking less damage because of the constant self-reapplicaiton of Resistance and Protection. A terribly designed encounter. The worst part? This was a non-buggy event.

Not quite true; this fight is made harder by the fact that the Counter Magic mastery designed specifically to counter and remove Spectral Agony does not work in Janthir, meaning you can't even just work around the ether towers. This bug has already been reported.

I killed once but it was already at 20% or less and no idea how many people were there but never again. I asked for help once but everyone got melted so I never bother with it and people asking for help just get ignored or are told that the thing is just too nasty to even bother.

Yeah, it's a poorly thought through encounter like the over scaled Rising Bloom event. I'll just avoid them for now but it'd be nice if they could address these issues.

Thankfully this skill issue can be resolved at the character select screen. Delete your character, remake it as Charr and play through the entire story.

 

Upon returning to this event, after experiencing the world as Charr, you will succeed on your first try easily.

My Charr was too weak and got eaten :s

That annoyed me the most for some reason.

Can't even go out of the battle to take a breath becasue of those towers and when I destroy the ones in range they respawn in a blink.

They should stay destroyed until after the event.

I experienced this myself. Started taking it on, there was about a party's worth of players around, and it was just barely taking any damage at all. Around five minutes in there was an unspoken consensus that it was going to fail and everyone just abandoned it.

And then when it did fail, I somehow got credit for Central Janthir Syntri anyway, so yay for bugs I guess?
