I was perfectly happy with it being more fractals. 3 sounds a good number to me.

Hasn't been changed. It's still "Convergence or Fractal 0/5, Convergence completes it instantly".

This week one of the weekly achievements is 'Complete 1 Fractal', so that wasn't replaced and the other version was just using Fractals as a core-game alternative to Convergences.
