Wishes for 2018

Certain Core mechanics for core professions:

Death Shroud - Reaper Shroud and Scourge Shade's are superior to Death Shroud, Death Shroud core necro IS USELESS in all game modes. Please update it to be up to par.

Engineer Kits and Core builds - Grenade Kit, Bomb Kit, Turrets, etc. Engineer Core Long-range capabilities are very weak compared to the close-range bruiser builds Scrapper/Holosmith.It's become so boring and cliche to be stuck playing the same builds as engineer, both Scrapper and Holosmith are pure bruiser builds. I miss the long-range condi builds with pistol, bomb kit, and grenades. Many pure core builds got nerfed to the ground years ago and can use a comeback in this current meta.

Elementalist - Return of the Traits - A lot of traits that were nerfed early on can be brought back. Old Stone Skin is a good example.

Give Core Thief Ammo on Steal, 2 Charges - This will make core thief unique from DareDevil and Deadeye, plus making it up to par with the two elite specs.

Look at Core Revenant - It's rarely used and still overshadowed by Herald. It's gotten to a point where Elite IS the core revenant, and we assume as much.

Elite Specs -

Berserker Warrior - Make Berserk work with Cleansing Ire. Removing the synergy nerfed Berserker into the ground in PvP/WvW and there was no reason too. Now no one wants to play it.

Firebrand - Make Indomitable Courage work with Tome of Courage F3

Mechanics -

Conditions PLEASE, deal with this once and for all.

MORE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE BALANCE TEAM AND GUILD WARS 2 COMMUNITY! After this year, the weakest aspect of GW2 as a company and product has been the balance. Compared to other games, there is definitely something lacking and the playerbase feels it. Please openly acknowledge this and work towards a better balancing process and community.

Or nerf reaper and shades to be on par with death shroud is always a thing, something not beneath Anet either

Way more important. I'd prefer nerfs to alot of stuff instead of the constand powercreep we've been through since trait reworks

My wishes for this year for GW2:

  • Complete Rework of the Condition & Boon System with the goal to reduce the effect spam a bit on both sides as good as possible, while making with the same move various classes more unique. Not every condition, not every boon must be too accessible to too many classes in regard of Core Classes. E Specs is somethign different, because for them you lose also something else from the Core Class, therefore that you receive access to something new.
  • Announcement at the end of Living World Season 4 of the next expansion which is completely designed around Underwater Content/Cantha
  • Finally the implementation usefully of Jeweler 500 and Chef 500 together with ascended food with new effects and significantly longer durations, like 3h instead of 30mins with Jeweler 500 implementating finally ascended sigils and runes which will be needed for the implementation of an own official Build Template System, so that we don#t have to run around anymore with multiple armor sets in our inventory, but can save up ouir builds and our visual style that comes with the build just as a Template
  • Finally the implementation of lots of missing Minigames, especially Polymok, Bar Brawls, and what realyl would be awesome would be some kind of ingame card collection game similar to Triple Triad/Gwent
  • Adding of wanted new ways of Gathering and Crafting, stuff like Fishing, Digging, Gardening
  • The adding of more missing legendary second set weapons, especially the legendary Dagger, cause I hope alot that it will look better and more epic, than the incinerator and will be this time wind/sonic based instead of fire based.
  • Adding of lots of more useful and interestign Masteries within Season 4, which aren't only useful for the new maps, but are in general useful for all of the game and add some quality of life to GW2 as part of the character progression
  • The Merging of Masteries with Elite Specializations in regard of Character Progression, so that you truly have to master your Specialization, if you want partwise access to the skills and the weapon of the specialization with your Core Class as well (except Traits and Elite Skill), to balance out this ware Core Classes and Elite Specs, bringing them a bit closer together to reduce this way the powercreep a bit as well as also giving the Core Classes a bit more build diversity
  • Preparations being made for a slow but sure removal of Gear Stats from this Game to the point, that Equipment decides only over the Defense Value of your Character, but not anymore over the Stat Build. The Stat Build must become 100% free of choice/resetable out of combat by the player and not be defined automatically by the gear you have on. This will give GW2 some good game design from GW1 back, where Gear didn't affect your Attributes, except the defense value. And everythign once you had Max Defense Values, was just for fashion!! Not for Powercreep ...and min/maxers, where the game was due to this alot more multi character friendly, that GW2 is.
  • Improvals on the Guild Hall System and adding of more new Content to Guilds. Can't be that after Guild Rank 69 everythign suddenly stops, when theres alot more potential behind Guilds to be further upgraded with more content and helpful features. Also must become Guilds more accessible also for smaller Guilds, than they are right now and also Solo Players should be able to get their Guilds starting...only because you are NOW a Solo player, doesn#t mean, that the amount of players in your guild might not quickly rise up, once you have a Guild Hall.
  • So make the aquisition of a Guild Hall more rewarding for the participants if you do it as a full group of say between 5-10 people, but easier to do by scalign the event down and less rewardign, if you do it Solo. If you do it as a group,. then you will gain just a little head start reward in form of materials that will help you to gain the first few Guild Ranks quicker for example. While you start solo as say Rank 3, you will start with 5 peopel group with a materisal reward enough to boost you up to a Startign Rank of 7, when done with 7 people then enough mats to start off with rank 10 and when done successfully with 10 people, the most difficult form of the event that is scaled up for 10 people, then you will have a material reward enough to start off with rank 15.This way will have everybody something from it and Guilds will become more accesible for all types of players
  • Adding of lots of new Emotes and eventually also more new racial dances..5 years of always dancing the same way becomes boring!!

I guess thats enough for the next year, it has to stay naturally also overviewable and realistically doable within a year of time.

oh and ps to be more profession specific

Thief:To be rebalanced this way, that they provide better group support, than only Venoms and a lackluster stealth whose uniqueness Anet desteoyed over the last years completely!!, that they become finaly the kind of Thieves, what people excpect from thieves in what they are specialized - BOON STEALING/SHARING, TRAP CONTROL/REMOVAL, DISARMING ENEMIES, INFILTRATION & SABOTAGE, means improval of Mobility/Shadow Stepping and manipulation of enemies/weakening enemies in combat by taking over their abilities and fighting basicalyl fire with fire. Complete rework of all Steal Skills and increase of the amount of Steal Skills per Class so that there is also some form of variation in there and not always gettign the same stuff only, that when I steal from a mesmer, that I know that I always guaranteed get a Glob of Ectoplams buff to all boons, but eventually also somethign else useful. Many of the skills need reworks and merges to make Thief more competitive and useful in the competitive modes of GW2 and in regard of PvE, it still sucks that we lose like half of all our skilsl the moment we touch water, fix ths finally and redesign skilsl to let them work on land as like in water, if you cant do this with a skill ,remove it and replace it with a new skill that can work everywhere!!

My one wish for 2018: For Anet to finally admit that they PURPOSEFULLY balance the game badly to keep all the DREADFUL players. If this game were EVER to actually become skill based, it would lose a HUGE chunk of its playerbase. It IS purposefully badly balanced to keep the bad players happy. Dreadfully poor game design and balance is what Anet NEED for this game because they chose the quantity of player, over the quality of player. This will never change.

I'd love to have a healing support spec for the Engineer that's actually comparable to druid, revenant, etc. Like reworking the medkit into something useful that can hit multiple targets at once rather than just tossing out a single-target healthpack, and making the turrets something like Ranger spirits, something you actually want to keep on the field instead of, like the health turret, dropping it, overcharging it, then immediately picking it back up or detonating it because it dies in only a few hits.
