question regarding shatters

I was just reading somewhere about using mind wrack and cry of frustration together at the same time.

im confused. I thought clones could only be shattered once, unless such statement meant get one shatter off of just you?

Looking at the golem video, the way the double shatter is done look weird and to my mind totally wasted since the clones would be shattered on the first - but I never do raids and in my WvW world even getting steady 5k dps would be amazing, so I have no idea what I'm really looking at anyway.

I'm sure there are raiders here that can explain it.

From the video it seems like the only reason of f1 shatter is free damage and torment from trait. It triggers only once, clones shatter only for f2. It's probably less worth using f1 with multiple clones than leaving them alive.

Yeah, the mind wrack is just for the 1 extra stack of torment and 2 extra stacks of confusion procced by the blind. The reason you use them together in the rotation is that mind wrack isn't strong enough to be worth using on its own, so you need to combo it after cry so that you don't waste clones with it.
