Fractals are pretty efficient for making money. Be sure to do the dailies, as a number of the junk items you get out of fractal encryptions vendor for over a gold each.

Check your bank for crafting materials you don't need. At the moment, watchwork sprockets are selling for 4.5 silver, for example.

Go to Dry Top and mine the Quartz nodes. Each quartz crystal right now sells for around 7.8 silver, so even just mining two nodes will net you 50 silver and can be done in about 2 minutes.

And, of course, be sure to do your actual dailies.

Finally, keep in mind that it's 10 purchases of 25 gold, not 1 purchase of 250 gold. It's a lot easier to spare 25 gold multiple times than to save up 250.

Fractals, silverwastes, winterberry farm. There's some leather farm in Lake Dorkgeek (or w/e it's called). Don't really know how much gold bounties get. These are just the easy gold farming that I do. I'm sure there's much more specialised farming, that some people will reply with. But I think you just need to be pacient in gathering that 250g.

Search for iron and platinum rich node farm, and seasoned wood farm on youtube.

The process of farming seasoned wood has become a lot faster thanks to mounts.

One important technique not yet mentioned: spend less. I know, it sounds silly, but a lot of people forget that saving money involves, well, saving it for later. If you have to, put in a buy order for a chak egg sac with your gold so you don't spend it. When you acquire more gold, cancel that offer and relist. Eventually, you'll have 250g set aside.
