Why is melandru a sylvari?

WHen u face the warden amala in domain of istan's meta ... She has the apparence of a sylvari as melandru avatar...

DOes this mean we won't have melandru regalia outfit that soon? Huhuhu you could have made some more efforts no? XD

I am wondering this too, I am a bit disappointed seeing a random Sylvari rather than the true human Melandru regalia. I hope this is not the case for us players!

I'm just going to leave this here, and hopefully that will explain why she is shown as a Sylvari.

As far as I'm aware we don't know for sure what Melandru looks like as she's never directly appeared in either game. The Dervish avatar's may be limited by the Dervish's original form - needing to have the same basic shape so they can still function. Or Melandru may actually look like a sylvari (a lot of depictions of her do look like sylvari, or like the early sylvari concept art where it's basically a human female with some plant like features or clothing).

Would it have shown more effort if they'd used the existing Avatar of Melandru skill which turns you into a small oakheart?

Perhaps this is a case of bias due to unfamiliarity. Balthazar isn't a Norn and Melandru isn't a Sylvari; they just look similar.

In GW1 Melandru is depicted as an Earth Goddess with a strong association with trees. In fact, She turned a tribe of environmental abusers into trees, ( perhaps creating the druids. I'm not certain on that point. ) I'd be surprised if she didn't resemble a Sylvari.

what I meant is ... both istan meta and fractal lvl 87 show melandru avatar as a (different for the two instances btw ) sylvari character and not like a regalia outfit as the other avatars are .

It just means anet didn't develop the melandru regalia yet and wouldnt have made it before season 4 to make it reliable to other gods avatars ... that just a funny fact.
