need help about " vision crystal"

where can i find one vision crystal to finish my ascended wespon quest after hot ? besides levelling all my craftings to 500 o.O ? or wait every 28 days from login rewards with hope to get one if not wait another 28 days ? found Spiritwood Scion , Orb of Natural Essence and only thats left. on wiki i ve found some data but :S im lost

The intended way is to level one crafting (not all) to 500 and craft it. All other options involve very low RNG chances and are not viable options.

You only need one of the following crafting disciplines at max level to craft a Vision Crystal:

• Armorsmith
• Artificer
• Huntsman
• Leatherworker
• Tailor
• Weaponsmith

You can get a vision crystal without crafting at all, but it takes 28 days to get one of logging in every day and you can't be on a free to play account, which if you're posting here, you're not.

The 28th log in rewards is the chest of loyal, from which you can choose a chest of ascended crafting ;materials. You'll get a vision crystal from that.

Vision crystal can be crafted, as mentioned by everyone above me, by ANY of the 6 armor or weapon crafting disciplines at level 500. It takes 5 bloodstone bricks, 5 dragonite ingots, 5 empyreal stars, and 1 augur's stone (bought from Myani at the mystic forge). Or you can login everyday for 28 days and then choose the ascended crafting materials chest.

This is kind of a stupid quest. I was led to believe that you could get a Ascended weapon easily after HoT, from another thread on these forums, but that's not the case at all. What's the point, may as well just do Tequail over and over, chances or better. Even Dulfy's help page is misleading, not mentioning the need for a vision crystal until after you've completed the two ridiculously long collections.

The point is that you get 1 of 5 ascended weapons for minimal gold investment.

Even the required Vision Crystal is cheap since if you decide to level a crafting discipline you basically spend the gold you would need to make an ascended weapon on getting a max rank crafter. Or is one 28th login bonus to get a VC for free.

Have fun killing Tequatle if you think this is comparable. Just a small fyi: you can kill Teq for as long as you want and never see a chest drop.

In about a month since I came back to the game I have 3 Teq ascended weapons chests drop, so it is kind of a lot better than having to wait 28 days for this ! Like I said stupid quest.

Nothing is stupid in this game. It is just a bit of hard work no matter the path you choose. You CAN look at the Collections achievements, under Specialisations and get an ascended relatively easily and the most it costs is Mystic coins (for the HoT ascended weapons). This applies to PoF as well but different requirements. Neither of which require vision crystals.

I have no idea what "quest" you are talking about but the best thing to do is level crafting. But if you are talking about the regrown Calabolg that was designed for the veteran player who had everything crafting related leveled as a way to acquire a lore based weapon. So if this is what you mean, your best bet is to craft the requirements or complete the achievements for your specialisation to get a weapon and come back to the Calabolg when you have what you need. TBH that is one of the best side stories they have released and it is insulting to the devs to say it is stupid.

You CAN get ascended drops in fractals but they are mainly rings and you CAN get ascended drops in WvW or save up currency in both WvW and PvP to buy one. The best part about leveling crafting in this game is you get XP so you can pretty much level a character from 0-20 by crafting alone. http://gw2crafts.net/

P.S. you get a vision crystal in the LW2 story completion achievements somewhere along the way because they released Mawdry with that series

All ascended items in this game are time gated and require patience. There's no shortcuts, only efficiency tweaks.
