Once I'm in time trials, if I stand (mounted) on top of the racemaster I get the adventure start window popup. Ditto on if I cancel a run with the x at the upper right of the UI and select the restart option which puts me back at the start point.I like having a restart required, it means I can be sure I'm starting in the right place with a full endurance bar.
