which class for quick?

Tbh it's just your preference.

Boon Chrono

  • very variable builds for more dmg, more cc, more quickness, quickness + alacrity (when u play 2 chronos)
  • in conclusion u will need a lot of different accessoiries, weapons and armors to be ready for everything a chrono has to do
  • u will most likely be the tank on certain bosses (best tank in game)
  • Mesmer is the first class you should craft a legendary armor for (this guy needs a shit ton of build variety)

Quick Firebrand (qFB)

  • you can quickly change it from quick to condi FB. Just exchange weapons (sigil of concentration) and consumables. So you have a DPS with the same Armor and Weapons (lucky-noobs.com)
  • in PUGs you will often see no qFB, cause the job is done by a Heal FB. In that situation you can go to cFB and just do the same rota.

In the current meta you will see the Firebrigade, which means - 1 Boon Chrono, 1 qFB/hFB and 1 Renegade (Alacrity). Both classes are in the current meta. 2 Chronos are usualy not played, cause the Firebrigade will do more damage.

@lare.5129 said:there is no any choose for common player. only qfb. With mesmer you should put wells, wich on tick 3 apply boons .. but who care what on tick 3 yours team in that place? no one:)

Nah, you don't need wells for current meta STM chrono. Just use full berserker's and a sigil of concentration maybe for your sword, pick STM as a trait and just do your power chrono rotation, you'll share quickness with no problem same way as a guardian: staying near the team.

Its easier to keep Quickness uptime on Firebrand, but you lose access to Alacrity. Its mostly just dumping Mantras, and they basically give every boon except Alac on a near-permanent basis, even 25 Might and Fury with Staff + Meditation traits.

Chronomancer in comparison needs a much more complex setup but can maintain both permanent Alacrity and Quickness with some Protection and a few other boons, they do this by using tricks like Continnum Split, Mimic and Signet of Inspiration.

(For example, with Continnum Split and Mimic, you can cast Well of Recall three times, and Time Warp twice.)

In most cases Firebrand has better boons and heals and easier gameplay, but can't support as many players at once. This becomes an issue in raids and Strike Missions, which is why classes like Chrono and Druid or even Tempest are taken instead. Even the Elite skills on Guardian are only five targets, so you see them much more in 5man content like dungeons, Fractals, and more recently in DRMs.

If you're only concerned with personal DPS, this isn't usually an issue, however.

qFB is just a condi stm chrono :)

-when not tanking:stm chrono will perform better some bosses (KC, CA) and for others bosses it often comes down to the player skill.

-when tanking:qfb will also be a bit easier to cover quick when tanking low pressure bosses with big hitbox (eg: gorse, dhuum) compare to stm as the quick cone range is enough to hit the group while as stm chrono you have to move back and forth to be in group range or have a group that stay in hitbox.

Tanking some boss will be a bit difficult as qFB or with only stm and you'll want to go for the stm inpiration for more block/invul:Vale guardian: to invuln greenXera: if you want invul/block blurred frenzy (stm or qFB can also be played as tank, in that case you dodge the blurred frenzy)Qadim 2: to block/invuln conesdeimos: if you need to provide block to your subSouless horror if you have a RR ren and don't play the condi chrono build

Power double well build is only needed for Largos split and Souless horror (when there is no RR ren) but was removed from SC website as for both bosses condichrono will outperform the power build.

So unlike what was said in previous comments you most often won't need well at all.
