  1. This "training" popup occurs repeatedly throughout the feeding the hungry Kryptis event. Every time you have thrown 2 items of food in fact. Can we have the ability to disable these popups? (Edit: Yes - leaving the popup open for the duration of the event is the best approach, but this is now something of an annoyance across all parts of the game). Here's a suggestion on Reddit for one way to do this on a per-popup basis, but a global setting would also be fantastic at this point.
  2. 1. EU 2. Thornwatch 3. Dragon's Claw 4. Monday and Thursday evenings, Sunday morning, various weekday mornings. 5. Difficult to get a good feel for it with only two matchups. Fights were generally fine, and going up against 2 large enemy zergs (without one on your team) is par for the course in WvW. 6. Yes 7. Yes 8. No. Our alliance was formed over a year ago and things have moved on since then (most of the guilds don't play on the same server under the current system, though they do have a history of doing so). 9. Difficult to get a good feel for it with only two matchups. Consistency is a long term characteristic. 10. The transition at relink was very smooth. 11. The loss of community and the difficulty in recreating this after a relink (only for it to vanish again at the next relink). I play with several groups on a single server and have good friends in each. One specializes in fights (evening), one in havoc (evening), and another in morning squads. Fewer social groups in WvW mean that I would expect my engagement to go down. Knowing that you are looking at a replacement for alliances then a player driven choice would help the community the best. My guild chooses 1) which server to commit to, or 2) to float freely according to the matching algorithm. Or I choose 1 or 2 on my account in the absence of a guild commitment. Server population caps remain important, but durable communities can build up as well - as has been the social benefit of the last 10 years of WvW.
  3. So as per the title, a request to be able to disable those training pop-ups that occur every time a new ability/special action is added (and used). The mock-up shows a "disable" option in addition to the current close. New popups for new mechanics would still be available, but old and familiar ones can be permanently hidden. Perhaps an additional button in the settings to reset all pop-ups that have been hidden this way, so folks can undo a mis-click if there is a need to. Yup, I know its not the first time asked for but it would be a lovely QoL update to have. Post on reddit, with mock up:
  4. Two suggestions for QoL improvements in WvW: 1) Crafting recipe to convert superior siege to guild siege: suggest 2x superior -> 1 guild 2) Have the following behave like a shop instead of being rng drops: * Siege Blueprint Cases * Superior Siege Blueprint Cases * Improvement and Tactic Pack * Tricks and Traps Capsule * Canned Food Crate * WvW Siege Decoration Case This consumes the source item from the inventory (i.e. behaves like a material or currency). A Skirmish Chest already has this functionality, and it feels like a waste to get rng drops when you only need one or two items (e.g. Dragon Banner tactic, or Alpha Siege Golem blueprint). Thanks for listening!
  5. Running over the race start area while on a time trial makes the "race join" dialog pop up. It doesn't go away until it is clicked on and obscures the screen. The most obvious example is the beetle trial in the halloween raceway, and being a fast movement activity makes it particularly difficult to deal with. Ideally there should not be a popup if you are on an active time trial, but having the dialog auto-disappear based on distance would also be beneficial. Yes, I am aware that I can stop time trialling while the race start area is up, but hey this isn't what you want to do when you're in a groove and going for a time.
  6. Thanks for this. I've just completed a run in Straits of Devastation (EU) so the maps are gradually resetting. Perhaps day 2 of the week is a better time to be doing these.
  7. How do you check the age of a map? The info doesn't appear to be on -mapLoadInfo There are people popping onto these maps to check for the weekly, and in doing so will keep these aging maps alive for longer.
  8. Black Lion Trading has really gone down hill if they're resorting to spam mail 😉
  9. So thinking about streamlining some of the experience of WvW brought me to the tooltip for objectives. Much of the useful information is buried within the dialog box that opens up when you click on an icon. More difficult to get to when on the move. The suggestion is to lift the following information into the tooltip: Current tactics and improvements Timers for items on build or cooldown are also shown Number of dolyaks to next tier I've done a mockup, which can be viewed here: https://imgur.com/a/lg6v4RH I'm aware that UI changes are always in demand, but hope the utility of this is apparent and might be considered as part of the WvW update/refresh. Thanks for listening.
  10. The english patch notes were updated when the error was spotted. Clearly this didn't make it into the translated versions of these documents.
  11. The armour was originally gated at level 1500 and items stepped up to 2000. By that time you would have a large chunk of the skirmish tickets if you were planning ahead, or the gating gave time to acquire most of the tickets while levelling up. See https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mistforged_Triumphant_Hero's_armor for more info.
  12. You might want to take a look at an intermediate upgrade. Replacing the GPU with (say) an nVidia 1070 will address the DX11 requirement. Then carry the GPU over into the new PC, and finally upgrade the GPU when there is one available that you want. Then sell the 1070. Due diligence on hardware compatibility of course. Each of those steps will see a very noticeable improvement in game performance and you don't have to rely on the CPU/GPU market being at a price/performance sweet spot. This is the upgrade path that I've taken over the last 10 years and am still on (Intel 4770/nVidia 770 -> nVidia 1070 -> Intel 13600 -> ???)
  13. Just checked the requirements and it's now at DirectX 12 minimum. No idea when they changed it, the sub-model has never been my cup of tea. https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/76459
  14. AFAIK the alliance beta kicks off at the same time as reset again (as it always has). If you couldn't complete the Wood tier this week then that's not a problem introduced by having the beta. You weren't going to complete in either way.
  15. Well I've now completed both these achievements myself and am happy to see the community offering valuable suggestions and guidance. For my part it was a rifle power mech build, mech stowed. Auto attack off. Range damage helped immensely and I stopped doing damage a full 10 seconds before the buff timed out (in case condi damage ticks failed the achi). Movement was more important than damage.
  16. I've had a few goes at In Tune as well - its one of those slow and patient achievements where you have to pay close attention to the fight mechanics. Dulfy's old guide has some good tips, and I also failed one run where a green attunment spawned underneath me while damaging red. Still need to get this achi and will keep trying.
  17. Many achievements in the game are signalled as active and "not yet failed" by the presence of a yellow/black icon in the boon stack. They disappear when you fail the particular mechanic and are no longer eligible for the achi. While these weren't part of the original release of Living World season 1, it would have been most welcome to have them present as part of the uplift. It would provide strong feedback on fights, particularly the busy or longer ones. "In Tune" and "No More Tricks, Scarlet" are two examples that would benefit from this, due to the number of AoE in the fight and the mode of failure (not having a particular buff). Here's a list of achievements that do have this feature: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Category:Achievement_effects Thanks for listening!
  18. We found this last night while trying out the new Lion's Arch (Under Atack!) map as a private instance. The three waypoints near the portals (they all have a waypoint fee) will force you to leave a private instance and join onto a public instance. The emergency portals are fine. You can get back by leaving and rejoining the private instance, but this is probably not intended. Canal Ward Waypoint, Cavern Waypoint and Bloodcoast Ward Waypoint all exhibit this behaviour. Edit: it's not the strike - its the old Lion's Arch map joined from Gendarran fields
  19. Came here to report that the achievemnt is still not working. With the beta now almost over then perhaps sending the chest to everyone who joined a beta WvW map would be a better thing to do this time around? Otherwise it becomes a reward for playing "the week after". More opportunities to gain these skins in future betas would be welcome.
  20. As title. I wanted to see how far I could get on my own in a private squad of 1. I'd expect the session type and progress through the tower to be honoured when respawning.
  21. You can enter from LA before Globalization (can't remember the exact tier), but can't return until Globalization is completed.
  22. While fighting in the Echovald junk yard meta I was downed and then died. Returning to the last waypoint put me back in Arborstone, which is a map change and loss of the meta map. I had entered Echovald through the Arborstone portal. Expected behaviour: the use of the portal should mark the map change. Temporary workaround: be in a squad so you can map join again (bad luck if it is full).
  23. Best guess is that the WvW instance server hasn't spooled up - possibly they ran out of names for worlds? Hopefully there's a quick manual fix.
  24. As title, the Return to Dragonstorm achievement is obtained by talking to Brek Harrowflight, but the green star mission marker is on the Mist Stranger. Screenshot
