  1. Well my best success is with a raid comp so il stick with that. I'm glad eu players are better than na players and need less organization. My experience has been different. Oversharing can happen and that's a loss.
  2. My point is boon sharing can still happen without organized subs, hell i get almost full boons in lots of metas all the time. I'm saying boons can still happen in this environment. There are even conditions where boons spill outside your sub if you're in subs. I'm not sure how you're proving you don't have boon coverage. That's what i think is ridiculous about your post but okay.
  3. Lol Lol okay. Pretty sure you can fall ooc if you die and swap things. And boons spill around you even if the squad isn't organized based on priorities but i'll let you have this one because i trust you. What you might be missing is it's the only consistent part of a raid comp, aside from healing. Glad we agree.
  4. How do you know people weren't switching into boon roles just to optimize your damage without the comms help? Given i've already clarified that boons and heals is the only consistent raid comp, i'd say your last point is agreeing with me as i've seen healers in DE as well. If you disagree i'm fine with that, just be sure to bring an HK to every encounter you do.
  5. You clearly don't understand what i'm saying either. You can't include every role as part of frc if it's not consistent. If HK and tank are part of FRC then feel free to being them on your next CA run. If you're splitting hairs on roles, de has roles too, like greens. The only consistent part of raid comp is boons and heals (and i've seen heals on DE too). I've said and clarified it before and if you don't believe me, by all means justify bringing and HK to every encounter to your squad because you got in a tiff with some guy on the forums. Your comments on randomly filling without boon roles when you only have half of what you wanted threw me of, you're not clearly communicating your point. It sounded like you were implying you could get away with only half the boons on DE. To me, it felt like you were setting up a contrast between how picky you could be in DE vs other content.
  6. Except i've been in groups that only got 1 of each in de meta and it hasn't gone well, so i'm kind of like, yes, frc is best and most likely to succeed, so your whole line of thinking here is broken from my pov, you're trying to lead me through a trap that in my experience isn't real: half the boons doesn't go well in de. And you're punished severely for low dps in how the mechanics play out. I didn't see tail. Not even Once in my frc comp run.
  7. ?? My de comm took some healers. Tanks aren't required on every raid encounter, so they're totally the same. Tank is not a universal raid role so you can't argue FRC always includes tank. No other raid roles than boons are consistent across encounters, they change so you can't argue they're frc.
  8. This exactly. There's literally no button for might and fury roles in my raid disc, but are for the other boons. This entire conversation is pointless and they're doing it just they can yell at me pretending to be smart.
  9. I'm struggling to understand your original point if you're admitting this in the context of my comment on raid boons equalling a raid comp. Most of the time having both a standard build that emits quickness and alacrity in a sub guarantees the rest of them. I guess we've both arrived at the same point now and agree on what i was originally meaning by "raid comp" to begin with?
  10. Might and fury are involved in my experience. My only successful run had uptime on those. My comm in my only successful run asked us to stab during a burn phase. So it looks like we disagree based on experience. The rest of your post is based on this assumption that in my view is absolutely false.
  11. Really? Because most of my effort when organizing a raid is getting the different boon roles. Dps tend to be a dime a dozen. I'm fine with you disagreeing with me, but i don't feel like it's much easier. In fact it's more annoying because you have to organize 10 different sub groups as opposed to just 2.
  12. 90% of the composition is just boons, which is what i meant by that, commanders have and do use healers. Are you seriously arguing the presence or absence of a tank is the differentiation? When some raids don't use them at all? And each of those 5 man sub groups you reference is trying to match the boon output of a raid? If there are people required to run full dps builds to succeed then i'm not not far off. Did i say DE was raid level difficulty or that i could bring people straight into a raid? You're the one that took it there. Feel free to prove me wrong, run DE meta with no one using zerkers, viper's, rampager's marauders or ritualist's gear (or the new stat combo that is like mauraders with ferocity being the stronger secondary stat. No healers and post the vid
  13. That's not what you originally posited as the composition. So it's irrelevant. be honest is no one doing raid level dps on the clears?
  14. If I had the time to I would, i'm sure arc can show me which sub groups peform the best. If i see trinket effects i'll know they're raiders. I can even lead some raids. I bet you raiders in a lot of the successful groups are carrying, given the massive amount of mechanic skipping you can do with high dps.
  15. Let's be honest though: might and fury are plentiful enough you have all boons covered with those. You may run no heals but comm told me to bring an HB. So the only distinction we're talking about is specific dps roles, which depending on the raid sometimes doesn't matter, i.e either is good enough. So you're just talking tanks. So to me, you're splitting hairs at this point. But okay.
  16. Really? Elaborate. To me, full boons = raid comp, because that's the lynchpin of any raid group is full organization around boons.
  17. Just curious. I had my first DE completion yesterday and it was ridiculously easy compared to the times I failed it and i believe it was because DPS was so high. . I don't think i saw tail once. So now i'm curious how often a "close" call actually happens when the meta succeeds, as my failed attempts have shown me that it easily devolves into bullet hell if DPS isn't high enough. On the failed attempts I generally tried not to be too picky when it came to my groups, going from semi organized (comm took boon roles available) to not as organized. Now, based on my experience, it feels like a double dps check. There's a fake one in the timer, and then the real one in how many mechanics you can skip. Also, if i ever do it again, i'm going to be SUPER picky now that I know the mechanics are just there to punish you for not having a full raid comp.
  18. Have you killed Dhuum yet? Just curious if you've done the hard group content while complaining there is none. Also, which metas are you doing with absolutely no coordination? Alot of metas have points where players need to kill things around the same time, or split up and maintain objectives. Also in some metas, like pinata you can earn more rewards by coordinating with other players doing sub objectives like killing bandits. I'm also confused what the difference is between 50 man content people can do without coordination in WoW vs Gw2. Just because it was hard back in the day, suddenly gw2 is worse, even if there's not a ton of difference in how players are playing between the two games nowadays?
  19. I feel like I could describe any group content in this way if I wanted to. I mean, even typing to coordinate is smashing buttons. I'm sorry you're disappointed.
  20. That's basically what I'm asking you. You're claiming this community sucks because they just want solo content, but most of the major events (called metas) can't be done solo. So I'm asking you, what cutting edge content you're running around doing solo with no other players that's causing you to whine and attack GW2 players.
  21. Okay. And are you soloing pinata? What solo content are you doing all the time? I mean I clearly remember organizing groups and leading them doing oil meta an ungodly number of times when i first came back after BFA. Most major events in the game aren't soloable.
  22. I'm talking retail, I don't think the content, as far as how it actually plays, is worse than vanilla, the power grinds aren't worse either, even with all the janky SL systems. It's a nostalgia boat getting a bunch of millenials back together and they'll all be nice to each other to keep the experience alive, but really WoW isn't a well designed MMO. It doesn't naturally encourage half the positive interactions taht GW2 does. Pretty sure I've spent less time in retail and gotten further, even though the grinds were the main complaint of SL. SL actually had amazing world building that unfortunately was ignored because of everything else.
  23. Yet WoW, an MMO that built itself entirely around group content just suffered one of the worst exoduses ever. And really just about any meta is "group content". It's just not organized, and plenty of metas still require some level of coordination. What initially hooked me in GW2 was its looser group content design, it made the game feel much freer, I do more organized content these days. If I had to say which of their game modes is best in terms of how group content feels, I'd say their raids for the most part nail it. WvW is also pretty cool, if the leaders are fun. When you find a community to play with, the feel in that content is the best I've ever had in an MMO. Outside a community it can feel kind of brutal or empty depending on the group, for both. The game has to be fun enough to play without other people around just so there's people to play with for the group content on hand.
