  1. That's exactly what I came here to say. The new raptor is nice, if you like the big, bright, flashy model. I haven't completely ruled out buying it but I need to find out how it dyes and give some thought to what I'd do with it first. But what I really want, and what I've been waiting for since PoF was released is just some relatively plain/'realistic' (for the creatures in question) skins with 3-4 dye channels each which are available by direct sale. For example if I could buy the Savannah Monitor, Tawny Hare, Oasis Skate, Banded Mystic and Spotted Sylph from the RNG packs as a 5-pack (so I'm guaranteed to get those 5) for 2,000 gems I'd do it immediately.
  2. So in summary: You need 2 identical legendaries. (They must be actual legendaries, not reskins.)That means they have to be gen 1 legendaries, as you cannot get 2 of the gen 2 ones. They must both be account bound. You must have them both when you speak to the NPC.It does not matter how they're obtained, only that they are the same weapon (e.g. you need 2 Twilights, not 1 Twilight and 1 Sunrise or 1 Twilight and 1 Eternity). As starlinvf noted 2 Moot's are the cheapest. But if you don't want to keep both and like the greatswords a better approach might be to make Twilight & Sunrise, then make a 2nd copy of the one you want to keep (to make the rest of this simple let's say it's Twilight you want to keep). Bind both Twilights, get the title, then turn 1 Twilight and 1 Sunrise into Eternity and sell it. You will lose money but I think less than you'd lose if you made and kept 2 identical legendaries.
  3. I'd love this. Being able to search for things I don't currently have unlocked would save a lot of time when buying minis, dyes and many other things.
  4. I think it depends a bit on what you're contacting them about. Gaile has said that all tickets are looked at in the order they come in, and in general they're dealt with in that order but I think they do make exceptions for especially urgent stuff, like if your account has been stolen or you can't log in, and put some issues to lower priority like missing but non-essential items (like if you deleted a character who was holding a skin you hadn't added to your wardrobe yet). And then some things just take longer to resolve because it's not a common problem/doesn't have a standard procedure or involves a bug that needs to be addressed first. I know Gaile has said before some tickets take longer because they have to be escalated to a senior member of staff in the Support team and then they need to speak to people outside the department to fix it.
  5. This is your problem. Ascended loot boxes are not normal drops, they only come from a few specific places and based on your post you're not participating in most of those. You can get armour and weapons from: Tequatl the Sunless chest (1 chance per day)Triple Trouble chest (1 per day)Fractals - boxes come from the daily achievements and individual pieces, especially rings, can drop directlyRaid bosses (only 1 chance per day)WvW rank up chestsPvP reward chestsVery rarely from guild missionsvery rarely from champion bagsTrinkets only come from Fractals, Raids and WvW and backpacks can come from raids but mostly have to be crafted. Based on your post the only chances you have to get ascended drops are when you get a champion bag (and I think those have the lowest drop rates of the whole lot, and none of them are especially common). So it's not at all surprising that you haven't gotten any yet. (Precursors can come from anywhere but the drop rate on them is so incredibly low that the majority of players will never get one as a drop, or will only ever get 1. Yes we all know the guy whose friends brother got 1 in his first week and has gotten like 5 total, but those are outliers or, more likely, lying/including drops from the Mystic Forge (which are far more likely). If you want ascended equipment you can either chance which aspects of the game you focus on, or buy trinkets with laurels and craft weapons and armour. If you want a precursor your best bet is to either do the collection or (if it's a gen 1 precursor) buy it from the TP.
  6. I agree with inubasiri. If you have extra 30 packs (or extra individual licences) which cannot be used you should contact Support. It might take a few days to get a response because it will be considered low priority compared to things like people getting locked out of their account, but they should be able to refund the gems you spent on them.
  7. I like this solution. I think it would solve the problems a lot of people have with the current system, with the added benefit that most people who already bought mount licences aren't going to lose out, and may actually have gotten a better deal. If you got a higher tier mount already then well done - you got it cheap! If you got a lower tier one then you paid the normal price. The only way you really lose out is if you've only gotten mounts you dislike so much you refuse to ever use them, even dyed to look totally different.
  8. Yes. but probably because I'm using reward in a different way to how the OP intended. I still can't get my head around this idea of playing a game for the purpose of obtaining in-game items. I understand needing some items to be able to play and wanting others because of how they look or what they do, but to me that's a step in the process, not the end goal. The end goal is to have fun playing the game. In that sense I find GW2 very rewarding specifically because I don't need many items to be able to play. I can focus on doing what I want instead of getting the items I need to be able to do what I want. Even with reward items - for example I made a legendary so I could enjoy using it (which is why I made one that shoots unicorns, it's hilarious) not so I'd have a legendary item because someone had designated it as the "end game" reward to aim for. If I don't like an item and I don't think I'd enjoy the process of getting it then I'm not going to get it no matter what it is or how special someone else has decided it should be. My priority is playing content I enjoy. I have fun playing GW2, and there's many parts I will go back and repeat even after I've finished it because I enjoyed doing it and want to do it again. (Everything from the Personal Story to big meta-events like Dragon's Stand.)
  9. A possible compromise I saw on Twitter and liked: Keep the RNG option as it is but add a 600-800 gem Adoption Licence which lets you choose the skin you want. That way people who want to gamble still have the chance to get a lucky (cheap) drop, but people who only want a few specific skins or are otherwise unwilling to gamble can get them directly.
  10. I doubt they'll change the currently available skins (although I'd be very happy to see them do it) because too many people have already bought them under this system and almost certainly paid more than they would have otherwise because of the RNG. But I suspect from the fact that Gaile took the time to consolidate posts (something that usually only happens when Anet wants a summary of all the feedback) and the sheer volume of complaints that they will use other systems in future. But I'm actually expecting that to be a mix of systems. I suspect they'll throw out a few skins sold directly to pacify people, then do pretty much what they've done with glider skins - some in the gem store as direct sale items, some bundled, some in Black Lion Chests, very rarely maybe the odd one in-game and probably some more through RNG. They're not going to stop selling things by RNG unless and until it stops working - when enough people refuse to buy them, at all, that it's no longer profitable vs. selling them directly. But there's enough people who don't care or are convinced the laws of probability don't apply to them that it's never going to happen. We've been dealing with things like this since the game launched and we're going to keep having to deal with it quite likely until the game gets shut down. Or this whole loot box controversy really kicks off and it becomes illegal in an important market.
  11. At the risk of being redundant ( ;) ) here's all my feedback in one, hopefully constructive, post: I like the new mount skins - I think they're well made and the detail on some of them is wonderful. I also like the fact that they're dyable because it adds even more opportunity to get the mount that's exactly right for you and adds extra value by allowing you to customise them for each character. I also like that there's a good mix of 'plain' skins and flashy ones with particle effects, extra animations and so on. I'm also happy with the price - I think 300-400 gems for a mount skin is very reasonable. Based on what I've spent on mounts in other games and on other cosmetics in GW2 I'd be willing to go as high as 1000 gems for the right skin. ('Right' is entirely subjective - it's one which looks amazing to me and is also perfect for one or more of my characters.) However there are a few skins I do not personally like and would not choose to buy or use (in my case that's mainly the fire/lava ones). Normally that would be a non-issue because I simply wouldn't buy those skins. However in this case it's a complete deal-breaker because I do not get to choose which skin I buy. Instead I have to gamble for them and if I get one I don't like and won't use I've wasted the money and my only option is to keep trying, and trying until I get the ones I do want - likely resulting in me spending far more than I normally would to buy the skins I want. I have no objection to gambling in general. If other people want that option then they're welcome to it. However I personally refuse point-blank to engage in any form of gambling with real money. Which means it's very important to me that it is an option. In this case it is not because the only way to get these skins is to gamble for them. (Or to buy the entire set, for about £106, way above what I'd be willing to pay, especially since I don't like some of them. (I'm aware I could buy gems with gold to circumvent the real money aspect of this - but I don't want to do that because I doubt Anet keeps track of gem store sales in this much detail so that would just register as me buying the RNG mount unlock and count as a 'vote' in favour of the system.) There are 2 ways this could be 'fixed' and make the system perfectly fine for me:1) Remove the random aspect - either sell the skins directly in the gem store or when we buy and use an Adoption Licence let us choose which mount we get.2) Make the skins tradable. Instead of being added to your wardrobe immediately they could be an item you can use or sell (like mini pets and some weapon skins). That way someone still has to gamble for them and Anet still gets their inflated sale price, but those of us who would rather not participate in that system can buy the ones we want directly. (This has the added bonus that people who choose to gamble and then get a skin they don't like can get a 'compensation prize' by selling it for gold.)
  12. Technically it's 30 items - so it works out at 320 gems each. It's still extremely expensive for new skins, but at least they're being clear on what the price is to get the full set.
  13. Agreed. All they need to do is make it so when you double click the Mount Adoption Licence you're presented with a list of mounts to choose from instead of a random mount and it'd solve the problem.
  14. Except the Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlock is only available from Black Lion Chests, so that's actually adding an extra layer of RNG to getting the skin you want.
  15. Just counted and there's approximately 11 mounts here I'd buy. Maybe as many as 15. (It'd help to know if they're dyable.) So that's 4,400 gems. Unfortunately for both Anet and myself the number I'm actually buying is zero, since I can't buy the ones I want, only a "chance" at any of the new ones.
  16. The problem isn't the price - it's the fact that you don't get to choose which skin you want. If you want all of them then yes, it's a fair price. But if you want anything less than every single skin included you run the risk of spending 322 gems for a skin you'll never use and having to pay another 322-400 gems for the one you want. That is the issue here. If when you double clicked the Adoption Licence you were given a list of all the mount skins and could choose the one you wanted then none of us would be here complaining because we could buy the ones we wanted without wasting money on ones we don't want. If they grouped them into packs of 5 (1 for each mount) and sold each pack for 2000 gems per pack like the Spooky Mounts then far fewer people would be complaining because you could choose the pack/s you liked best and buy just those skins and the only problem would be if you only liked 1 or 2 skins in a pack. But they didn't do either of those. Instead they decided to make us pay out for a random chance at the skins we want, knowing perfectly well most people will get ones they don't want first and end up paying far more than they would have otherwise to get the one they wanted originally. (In fact I wouldn't be surprised if, like Black Lion Chests, the odds on these are weighted so you've got far more chance of getting a 'dull' skin like the Coastal Spiketail or Bright Ringfin which are barely distinguishable from the default mounts and highly unlikely to get the ones with special effects until you've unlocked most of the others.)
  17. To be fair this is not new for GW2. Black Lion Chests are much the same and have been in the game since launch and special themed loot boxes where the drops are account bound and so cannot be obtained without gambling have been in the game periodically since Wintersday 2012 when the Wintersday Mystery Box was added. (Note: the mini pets pages now say they're tradable but that wasn't the case until years later.) It is however extremely disappointing, if entirely unsurprising, to see them doing it all over again and with something so many people were looking forward to. We were off to a great start with 5 kinds of mounts being obtained in-game and with the first set of skins sold as a direct sale (the only annoyance being that you had to buy them all together). That makes it even more of a let-down when they decide to add gambling to the process.
  18. On the plus side this is going to save me quite a bit of money. I've been waiting to buy mount skins since mounts were announced, and there's several in here I'd have already bought if they were available by direct sale. But as it is I won't be getting any of them. I'm extremely disappointed that they're only available by lottery. It's a horrible predatory tactic designed entirely to get people to spend far more than they would willingly pay as a direct sale for the items they want and I refuse to participate in any type that involves real money. (In GW2 I also refuse to buy Black Lion Keys or other gambling items like this with gems bought with gold because I doubt Anet separates the two so it would still serve to encourage them.) I just hope they're available by direct sale later on.
  19. but isn't sending large quantities illegal / suspicious? Also I think there's a cap on as to how much you can send. I heard somewhere that around 250g max? If I remember correctly there's no cap on how much gold you can send, but they can only withdraw 500g a week (or is it month?) from mail. So if you're sending more they might need to wait to get the full amount. It can also look suspicious but if it's a one-off you should be fine. For extra protection you can discuss what you're going to do in-game and then save screenshots of the conversation. Then reference that in the mail when you said the gold, something like "As discussed yesterday here's the gold for your transfer fee, really looking forward to you being able to join us in WvW!" That gives Anet evidence that you weren't selling gold, either they'll pick up on it themselves or if you do get banned you can send the screenshots as proof of what you were doing (and I assume they can then check the gold was used to buy gems which were used to buy a transfer) and un-ban you. It would be easier if we could gift transfers, and I don't fully understand why we can't but I assume there's a technical reason some items aren't included in the gift system.
  20. You cannot gift gems. All you can do is give them the gold or real money to buy gems. If you want to use real money and don't know them in real life you could use a system like Paypal to send it so you don't have to exchange any more than basic information.
  21. I think that's what they're saying too. But that's why I don't understand it. The only difference between a wolf and a drakehound is that the wolf's howl (F2 ability) causes fear and the drakehound's causes immobilize. All their other skills are identical and all their stats are identical. And it's the same for all the other pets - the family determines the stats and 3/4 skills and then the last skill is a variation on a theme. I could understand it more if they were asking for new, unique pet skins - which is why I think other people interpreted it that way. If you could reskin your pet - give your drakehound a hat or get a white tiger or a glowing golden pig or whatever - then I could understand the appeal. But swapping one pet's appearance for another in the same family achieves almost nothing we can't already do by just swapping to that pet.
  22. I don't understand this suggestion either. If you want your pet to look like another one in the same family you can just swap to the one you want. The only difference between pets in the same family is their F2 ability, and unless you're a really hardcore min-maxer that's not going to impact your build so there's no need to feel restricted to a specific one.
  23. They gave us harder open-world content in HoT and people complained until it was made easier, then continued to complain about the things that couldn't be changed (like the map design) whilst focusing almost entirely on farming the most rewarding things. What makes you think a 2nd attempt at adding harder open-world content would go any differently?
  24. Edit: So apparently 2 topics have been merged, making this post a duplicate. I've deleted everything except the updated screenshot for my main character. This is my main (ranger). Her 'theme' is 'skins & colours I like'. I try to make them look good together but literally the only criteria is that I like it.
