  1. That's an odd way to admit you're terrible at PVP and are now throwing a fit because your faceroll build just got nerfed. XD
  2. 10 seconds every 3 minutes in a team of five, you get focused. If you didn't bring any condi cleanse to a lich fight, that's on you.
  3. That in essence would prob delete lich. 50% is too big a nerf, especially for the cd it already has. You also run the risk of deleting core nec from SPVP completely. 50% would allow you to constantly spam 2000+ crits instead of 4000-5000+.Why would core suffer much from a grossly OP elite ability being adjusted? If you depend on something that is obviously broken, you're in for a lot of disappointment. The lich has 5 skills. Nerf the broken one and buff the others. You can't avoid the slowest-moving character in the game for literally 10 seconds once every three minutes, assuming they are only focusing on you? Says a lot about your skills, bro.
  4. I saw nothing here that negates the simple idea of "When the giant green glowing fella shows up, go over there for a few seconds if they target you." But I do pick up the occasional kill from lich. But not the bulk. People run, they live. Even if you chase them. shrug
  5. I said what I had to say. I'm fine with this now becoming a thread about all the simple ways to counter lich or necros in general.
  6. I'm not sure which lich forms you're speaking of, but kiting and LOS will keep liches from doing pretty much all of that. They have ZERO mobility. XD Everything I mentioned is a good counter to lich form, so no Los is not the only solutionAh, I misunderstood. I thought you were saying those things kept other players from being able to kite/LOS. Apologies. My point wasn't that kiting and LOS are the ONLY things that work, just that they're really all you need and literally every class can do it.
  7. I'm not sure which lich forms you're speaking of, but kiting and LOS will keep liches from doing pretty much all of that. They have ZERO mobility. XD
  8. Kite/LOS for 10 seconds. That's literally all. You're welcome.
  9. Once you're silver 3 or so, you should be able to keep core necros from killing you with a bit of kiting, cc, cleanse, and dodge on most dps builds. Set us on fire, cc us, then burst us to oblivion. Lure us away from the group and melt our faces off while playing ping pong with our unstable, though admittedly impressive, health pool(s).
  10. The argument here boils down to how low of a skill ceiling you should have. PvP always has a steep learning curve. But when you become proficient, skills should be such that more skilled players get the most out of them. That requires a high skill ceiling. That's why they balance around the top players. Skill levels vary drastically at other levels of play. You don't want them balancing around silver league. Trust me.
  11. "Hey, all these idiots keep holding the baseball bat by the wrong end...""Then make both ends skinny so everybody will be able to play." This is why balancing isn't geared towards the low tiers.
  12. You're a ranged bunker. Wait for the bruisers to get in there and cast from afar or you'll get focused and cc'd to death. They know to target necros standing in the crap.
  13. i guess u arent playing any competitive game, any character with high mobility and high exist ability does little damage, specially assassin class are supposed to poke damage and only go in to shut down low HP target when played at equal level and never go toe to toe against a tank or brawler and fights are often initiated by tanks/brawler and often brawler does a ton more damage if you go toe to toe. there's no such thing as "burst class". Except for Mobas, where they do a lot of damage. And other MMOs, where they do a lot of damage. And shooters, where they can usually oneshot. And PvP games that dont fall into any of these categories (stuff like Gigantic), where they do a lot of damage. Actually, now that I think about it, I cant thing of a single competitive game where they do little damage. Its meta, yes, but not as an assassin. Its meta as an errand boy. Someone who runs around the map, and stands on points. Some people want to play thief as what it was originally supposed to be. A deadly duelist. Its even in their description. So, you're mad because a THIEF who specializes in stealth, agility, sneak-attacks, etc., can't 1v1 face-tank a tank spec, then? EVERY description of EVERY class makes them seem like they would wipe the floor 1v5 against any other classes. That's not how class descriptions work. XD Its not supposed to face-tank it. But its supposed to be good at 1v1ing, instead of its current state where its the worst profession at 1v1ing. Hence "Deady Duelist". Instead theyre just errand boys who pretty much never duel because its the wrong thing to do. You're missing the point. You legit are using the lore description as an indicator of playstyle, and I think that's just a lil silly. ;) You are missing the point, because those descriptions (which arent lore descriptions btw) are supposed to be indicators for playstyle. Theyre small blurbs for newbies to figure out what class they want to go for. In other words, indicating playstyle is exactly the point of them. Besides, thief used to be a deadly duelist, they just lost that over time and ended up as the worst duelists they are now. Cool. I play necro. According to my LORE description, I should just be able to wish you dead. See why that's ridiculous? Don't be mad because you're wrong. Those "blurbs" aren't meant to be literal descriptions of playstyle. Rage all you want about it. I just explained that theyre not lore. Allow me to quote Necromancers blurb to you. "Practitioners of the dark arts, necromancers summon the dead, wield the power of lost souls, and literally suck the life force from the enemy. Necromancers feed on life force, which they can use to bring allies back from the brink or cheat death itself.". Now, does that sound like something Necromancer does? Actually, yes, it sounds exactly like what Necromancer does. Because that is the point of these blurbs. They describe the class and its playstyles in as few words as possible. So no, the only thing I see is that you continue to miss the point, and fail to see that you are wrong and that the blurbs in fact very much so are meant to be literal descriptions of playstyle. Sounds like I should just be able to walk up to you and wish you were dead and the life would just drain out of you. Thieves are doing just fine. They just don't play how you WISH they did. If I brought a "thief" in real life among the other classes in this game, you'd definitely be a support role. XD Man you really just dont want to admit you were wrong, huh? Necromancer can drain other peoples lifeforce. You have multiple skills that do that. The description fits. Anyway, thief is doing fine, the errand boy playstyle is effective. But theyre not playing how they were originally supposed to play. They were forced out of their original playstyle in favour of the errand boy. That is the problem. And if you brought an Engineer in real life, they wouldnt be fighting at all. A guardian would be purely defensive. Turns out their names are not their literal purpose, just like thief only has 1 skill that has anything to do with stealing. By that logic, you have weapons, so you're a duelist. Youre confusing the difference between a name and a description. "Thief", just like Guardian, or Deadeye, or even Reaper is a name. "Duelist" is a description. Yep. Describes someone who duels. Not one that wins them. If you wanna nitpick semantics, I promise I'm better at it than you. My time in the service payed for me to finish my masters in poli sci. XD Even if you wanted to go for those semantics (which fails because it wasnt just "duelist", it was "deadly duelist"), that still doesnt apply to thief. They dont duel. At all. That means they are CAPABLE of killing, not that they're any GOOD at it. Again, got weapons? No, actually, it means that theyre very good at it. What youre describing is "potentially deadly". Changing the word deadly based on context. For one, they dont fight duels. You run away from any. Second, that also isnt what those words mean. I know youre relying on semantics because you have no actual argument, but semantics arent helping you here either. Just accept that thieves originally were very good duelists, were supposed to be very good duelists, and lost that over time and no longer fit their description. Hey, bud? You remember I was responding to your own semantical approach? My argument is that you're mad because the prof doesn't play like you want it to based entirely on the semantic argument that they're called "deadly duelists" in their PR blurb from years ago. You see why I find that silly, right? Like, the entire thing? Except my approach wasnt "semantical". Its also not that it "doesnt play how I want it to play", but rather that it doesnt play the way it was intended to play. Its not a semantic argument. Its an argument on the developers intention. Their intention was for Thieves to be deadly duelists. Thankfully, there is no semantical ambiguity to be had here. It was pretty clear. They wanted Thieves to be great at 1v1ing. And as I said, they were. They lost that. No, what I see is that you got in over your head, and when your arguments fell apart completely tried to argue semantics that didnt work instead of admitting that you were wrong from the getgo. The only thing silly here is you trying to argue against a point that cant be argued against. I don't think you know what a semantic argument is. Have fun. Good day. I do. Evidently, you do not. But hey, if you want to admit you were wrong indirectly, that works for everyone as well. Nice of you to admit you were wrong. Good day.Sure thing, boss. XD fingerguns

Turns out their names are not their literal purpose, just like thief only has 1 skill that has anything to do with stealing.By that logic, you have weapons, so you're a duelist. As for your engineer quip, I did two tours as a combat engineer, and I'd beg to differ.
  19. i guess u arent playing any competitive game, any character with high mobility and high exist ability does little damage, specially assassin class are supposed to poke damage and only go in to shut down low HP target when played at equal level and never go toe to toe against a tank or brawler and fights are often initiated by tanks/brawler and often brawler does a ton more damage if you go toe to toe. there's no such thing as "burst class". 23. I'm not entirely sure why you're dying so quickly in 1v2 without seeing your build or gameplay. Oh, it's 100% my lack of skill and experience. That's why I'm seeking input directly from the pvp community. :)
  24. What I'm seeing even in silver is that players with a fair level of skill can cc core necro bunkers to death pretty quick. 2v1 means popping everything, hopping into shroud, and hoping they're both melee and kinda glassy. At my admittedly low skill level, a better player on almost any class can 1v1 me and avoid death unless I pop lich where they can't LOS. Otherwise, KITE ME HARDER, DADDY! My role as a bunker is to hold down a small area for a brief time under pressure until help arrives, then mainly to support. Correct? I shouldn't be getting a bunch of kills outside of group fights unless they try to just facetank me 1v1 like an idiot.
