  1. For all of you too young to remember! Welcome to the 1990's web pages! 😉
  2. I thought this has been fixed, but nope, still doing it.
  3. So you are going to get rid of the 2.25 activation time, right? RIGHT?
  4. Why would you depend on Reddit for official announcements? The forums have always been THE official site for announcements. At least check in on the announcements channel even if you avoid the rest of the forums. Back to the actual problem, it might be worth noting when your people transferred to the new server. It may be that whatever settings there are for one to be able to earn pips after a server transfer* had some effect/conflict with the person being sorted into the correct guild on reset. Providing some details as to the dates/times of transfers prior to the restructuring event would probably give ArenaNet some specifics to check. You may find that people end up sorted correctly after the next reset--assuming that the account limits from transferring to a new server have timed out by then. Just a thought. *"Players who transfer will not earn pips in WvW until two WvW resets have occurred following your transfer (a maximum of just under 14 days, a minimum of just over 7)."
  5. If you did not select a WvW guild prior to the restructuring event, open the WvW panel, the bottom tab for restructuring. You should see a list of current teams. Additionally, any friends that are already assigned to teams (because they chose a WvW guild) will be listed along side that team. With some advance planning, you could all just pick a team after reset. Note, selecting a team locks that in for the current match. However, if none of you select a WvW guild, then you could all pick the same team the next time around.
  6. Nope. I took the "healing stats" dll out of the folder along with ARC just in case. I don't use BLISH, or anything else.
  7. I've had the problem using both. Having ARCdps installed or not didn't seem to make any difference for me. Multiple incidences are still randomly generated.
  8. At least 4 of us in our guild were having this problem last night. Start the game, and it just stops launching. Go into the task manager, and there are multiple "clones" of GW2 in there, using various amounts of resources. Just happened twice in a row to me in addition to last night. Sometimes the launcher will self-start after closing all the versions in the Task Manager, sometimes not. https://imgur.com/a/LnGDp8C
  9. So it wasn't just me. All the other players around me would just disappear and reappear...including my entire squad. Happened about 3 times. "Where'd you all go? Was it something I said?"
  10. I find it more weird that as a previously dedicated research scientist that was able to successfully upload a living person into a golem body, he is now a...detective...? I get that researchers and scientists are all kind of "hunters." However, taking him out of the lab so quickly just seems weird to me. I keep expecting him to say "Nope, too much dirt, bad food, and crappy beds out her in the wild. I'm heading back to the lab."
  11. It is Shadow Abyss. I tried others just to see if it was that dye, but all the darkest barely end up grey. I tried the "shadow" versions of other hues, but they just pull a lot of that hue in and aren't black/grey. The other is White. Anything brighter just makes the grey even more dilute.
  12. First image is in the dye panel. The 2 top channels are for the mount's body, the blue circled channel is the one that I'm trying to get darker. But all of the channels for this are kind of funky. The "gold" ends up kind of green. The brighter white you put on the "furnishings" channel just ends up also blowing out the other colors. Trying a more off white seems to pick up the underlying color in the white, i.e., crushed bone makes it very yellow. The 4th is for the eyes, hence I have it a dark brown. https://imgur.com/EdpjAyw https://imgur.com/FDDFnjO PS: Yes, the eyes aren't right--but us spitz fanatics! *rolls eyes at self* ****** Edited to add: It appears the one fur dye channel is driving both the fur dye channels. Here it is with red in the "first" square, and white in the other 3. Cute mount, but too bad the dye channels are linked. https://imgur.com/ZXaIXq9
  13. Please, please, please ArenaNet. Could you make the upper right dye channel for the samoyed mount be more saturated. It only takes any effect from the darkest of any of the hues. I know, it's a Samoyed, and they are white, but that spitz model would work for Keeshonds, Pomeranians, etc. The husky mount skin does dye darker, but my keeshonds are fluffier! Pleeeeeeeeeeeese? (Seriously though, any dye channel should be able to be very close to whatever dye we put in it. There are plenty of dyes out there to find one that has the saturation we prefer. The warlords armor is the opposite. Finding dyes that can be light enough for what one wants can be problematic.)
  14. Ok, I admit, I was wrong about the wiki dates. @Felix Omni.3829 Calling me a "Truther" is a bit extreme, but thanks for that hyperbole. Truthers are someone that won't admit an error or continue to press their opinion in the face of evidence to the contrary. I do not remember the GW2 wiki being any sort of decent resource. Most of us used player owned/ made content for tips, etc. Perhaps it was there--regrets to those of you that your wiki efforts for GW2 were unsung for some time after launch. This "Truther" will just see themselves out of this conversation.
  15. Now you are just being picky. We, the players, did not have access to the wiki at release. Is that better?
  16. If you are that frustrated, then it is time to take a break. If you ever try to return: If you are in a guild that has a guild hall, get the buff from the tavern keeper that gives increased WvW reward track xp (not just the WvW Experience). Use food or utility consumables that will give you buffed WvW reward track xp. If you find an open tag, let them know you are just beginning and could they set you as receiving shared participation so you can get credit for things that happen even if you are lagging behind. Note, a squad has a limited number of shared participation slots, 1 for every five members in the squad. So, if it's a small squad, they may not have enough shared participation slots for those that could use it, or those may have already been assigned when you join--but there is no harm in asking! If you are traveling alone, there are PvE events on the maps that are largely ignored by other players (events in the centaur camp, skritt village, defeating the vetern warg, harpy, or worm). There are relatively easy daily achievements that can be completed to get you some increased reward over time when they show up in the daily rotation: killing a veteran (warg, harpy, or worm), or claiming one of the monuments in the ruins on the borderlands. It may be slower going, but I have gotten a few GoB that way when I wasn't able to play WvW consistently. Finally, there are people in the "Players Helping Players" forum that might help folks get through the initial shock of WvW. There are also Facebook groups for GW2 players where people can get a lot of help--just mention your server and play times in any requests you make.
  17. The commander tag was separate from the squad functionality, the tag came before the squad. We ran in 5 person groups all together using voice coms. Even if you had a good sized guild, it took a while to get 100 gold together to purchase a commanders compendium for a single character to get a tag that would show on the map so everyone could just follow the tag. If they were getting one on behalf of the guild, you had to really trust that the person you were donating gold to would stay in your guild for a while and would be sticking to that character, etc. Since it was a new game, and we didn't know how it would hold up, it was "iffy." The increased functionally of having an actual squad was later (with HoT and the addition of raids, I believe). As for the wiki page, using the page's creation date as evidence of dates of specificis in the game is problematic. We (the players) didn't have the GW2 wiki at launch. That is why sites like Dulfy, etc., were so popular. Once it was launched, many of the ArenaNet-created pages were back dated before the wiki launch date. Even once the wiki was added, it took a while for players to get into creating the content. I wouldn't base dates of what was/wasn't in the game on the date of creation of a wiki page, but by the dates provided for actual implimentation of mechanisms in the pages' content/text. Here is the news post by ArenaNet on the addition of the squad functionality in HoT. https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/introducing-enhanced-squad-ui/
  18. In addition to some of the other suggestions, I'd kind of like to see some achievement points added to the Weekly.
  19. I'd like to suggest that the Mist Gates in Armistice Bastion have obvious colors for red, green, and blue borderlands--currently they are all the same "blue glowy" thing. Especially during beta testing, since the names of borderlands are wonky. It's nice to be able to "click once and travel" like in Lion's Arch, but one can easily end up with the wrong gate since we are usually talking in terms of borderland color, not the current match's borderland names. It's a minor thing, but it might also be a fairly easy thing to change that would make those gates more user-friendly.
  20. I honestly did not notice the bag symbol until reading this. Many of the item image backgrounds are quite light in color. That teeny bag isn't actually all that clear, and disappears completely on some of the images. Heck, some of the item image icons I can't even tell what it really is supposed to be, I've just learned that particular mess of colors and shapes is "___." So, I guess my fix is to arrange my bank vault items so that the first thing there has a dark background on the item image, so that I can see the tiny bag, and then I'll know everything else after that is in my vault.
  21. Others have pointed out how to work smarter, not harder (utilizing dailies, watching event timers, doing other achievement chains like the "Return to..." etc.). It has also been pointed out that the skyscale is basically a legendary version of mounts. All the other mounts do what the skyscale does (except for the skimmer), and do it better as individuals. The skyscale is just a lot of skills combined. Like all legendaries, the biggest thing it brings to a player is convenience. However, I'll add to the tips, just ASK. Try posting in map chat "Need help with _______ for skyscale." You will probably be surprised how many of us will respond (unless there is a big meta battle on the map). We've all been there.. We know it's a pain in the kitten. I've diverted my play many times to help with a fight, portal someone to a location, etc. Same as with getting the griffon--people will help.
  22. My guess is that we will see them added to the tables for selectable gear shortly after any new Living World Story content is launched (post-EoD story-wise). That is how it worked with HoT and PoF. We had to work to get anything with the new stats at first. To this day I am loathe to give up or salvage any Viper's gear because most of it I made when the materials were stupid expensive (so much flax farming!). Luckily, it has held up well, and can often be used in someone's build.
  23. Searched and didn't find this one yet: If jewelers are using iron and steel ingots for crafting jade cores, they should be able to make the ingots. It's not a huge hardship to make sure you have enough made by another character, but I really don't understand why any craft that can make ingots of any sort can't do them all. The weapon and armor crafts should also be able to make silver and gold ingots. These are basic materials, they don't define the crafts, but it is annoying to have to go back and forth just because of a miscalculation in recipe requirements.
  24. I'll agree that there are squad tools I wish were available either just to everyone, or at the least to a mentor tag. Specifically the location and item markers. If you are actually trying to mentor people, being able to mark locations or items is really useful. I've led smaller private groups through JP's or other open-world content. Every time I do it, I wish I had the marker tools for a regular group or a mentor tag. I often help out people that are differently-abled, and an open group environment isn't good for allowing me to focus on what needs to happen for those folks. If I use the tag to have the tools, but make the group private, then I'm constantly having to answer whispers asking what we're doing, why isn't the group open, or telling me to take down my tag because I shouldn't use it unless others can join (yes, I've had others telling me to not use a tag in open PVE). I guess I'm less concerned with the price of the tags, and more about some pretty basic group tools being available to everyone. Sure, those of us that purchased multiple tags back in the day spent more gold, but we also got gold back when they converted the tags to account wide if we had spent more than $300G. Those of us with only one tag early on got a great deal--there are quite a few people that only paid $100G for their tags. Just being in the right place at the right time doesn't make them better commanders.
  25. I was actually waiting for this update to see if they would add at least a "salvage stack" to the Research Kits. As someone who has restricted hand use, this would be so useful. I get that "salvage all" might end up with people salvaging stuff they want to keep, but a salvage stack would be safe It's code that is in the game already, there has to be an intern somewhere they can give the job to. So yea, not only do they keep removing the cheap stuff that allows some of us that are still crafting ascended gear or legendaries to keep our more needed materials (even though that takes MORE clicking), we still don't have a batch process on the research notes. Yet, we are required to have cores and modules for every alt if we want all of them to use the jade bot. This makes no sense. It should be standard with ANY new type of salvage kit added to the game. **dumps out her bags of coffee**
