  1. Wanderer's Armour and weapons, Harrier trinkets. What I'm basically saying guys, is that any sort of build for certain classes that doesn't have Zerk or predominantly attack skills is so weak in PVE that it's borederline unusable. Is that by design? If so, then there is a ton of variables that leave totally unplayable stat combinations. I didn't leave out Power. Power is shared as the dominant stat in a lot of my attire, i.e. in armour, weapons, trinkets, back piece. I wanted to be able to play so I could balance power output with some good retaliation and might uptime (doesn't have to max) and be able to use it in PVE and Fractals. I can, but it's very very underpowered. I also didn't want to waste traitlines so Mace + Staff seemed like a good idea so I could use lines such as Radiance. Even using boosts, with enhanced Signets granting more power, it's completely and utterly unviable. It makes me wonder... is there any sort of incentive or reason (besides strictly roleplaying) to use even two thirds of the stat lineups? We already know that Vitality is nearly useless and toughness generally is. At the moment, Guardian alone, and I've spent years with this remember, is rewarded only by Zerk Zerk Zerk, or maybe Soldier stats with Zerk trinkets and either shouts or consecrations. Shouts share the same traitline, unfortunately, as the vitality and healing boost that is very useful as a guardian, so you end up loosing lots of retaliation and stun breaks. These sorts of classes and skills would be IDEAL in a traditional MMO setting with defined roles, but it fails to work (or works horribly) in a game that doesn't reward roleplaying and even more so when there is zero encouragement to enter into random open-map roaming parties (not squads) for just general playing. My guardian would have been great in a setting like this, but I'm coming across mostly self-sufficient Zerkers where power dominates an enemy before help is even needed (perhaps unless near a Champion). It leaves actual class specific play totally irrelevant outside of Raids. I think i'll have to ditch Mace and Focus and throw my ascended armour into the forge. I won't be swapping the trinkets because while they're easy to get, the grind to get them is far too time-consuming. My current build here: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?PW1Ak2ZlZUwmaad1NuE3ZnWcT1rVA-zRZYBJBzZ0xUDuMquCSPF8dA-e which was meant to focus Power / Healing / Some Boons (retaliation and might) has been limited to sacrificing traits and skills for direct damage boosts or healing myself because damage mitigation doesn't work if you haven't got power to make use of it. If you sacrifice damage and mitigate damage through aegis and healing by the time you've done damage you've already lost a ton of health. Anyone suggest some armour only changes in the build above? Maybe Soldier? I might have to drop the mace, it's great with the runes and the trait boost but it is so unbelievably slow.
  2. Try out Wanderer's Guardian with Mace/Focus (and Staff) with Harrier stats. It's not viable anywhere as a healer or with buffs... not in Fractals, not in Dungeons, not in Raids (though expected) not in PVE and... well nowhere else. PVE has no friendly healthbars and there's no incentive to random open world parties so few actively invite others to free-roam, so no healthbars show and thus healing others is harder to gauge and kind of pointless. Why has Guardian Mace and Hammer been so neglected for so long? Is it just yet another case of more ZERG or go home?
  3. Maybe mention this is WvW in the title rather than a sweeping statement.
  4. Totally agree. There are people completely unaware of what has happened currently playing who are at risk of losing everything they do if Anet rectify this accidental rollback.
  5. I mistakenly bought a fourth item build slot for my Guardian (after buying a third earlier). It's a little confusing. I didn't actually want to buy a build template slot at all, but rather I wanted to expand my number of slots where I can define the skills. Is there any way I can undo this? I have submitted a support ticket explaining what has happened. Hopefully this can be rectified. :)
  6. This is blatantly obvious by the dismissive tone of the community here. Rules are there to be followed and the fact that everyone's attitude is "ignore it" is why everybody breaks rules in games and in the real world. Just to note, I am running around in the vicinity farming myself so it's not like I walked passed and saw this guy once or twice. I was there for a good hour the other day and a couple of times in between for a brief spell and 30 minutes earlier and he sat under the same tent, not moving. I even sent a mail saying dude, don't AFK farm it's not allowed; no acknowledgement. Heed your own advice and move on if you don't like my thread or disagree with it. This guy is very likely breaking the rules, much like the sea of Iron Marches Ascalonian Wall and Modri Carvern AFK farmers. I won't ignore flagrant rule breakers. I'll just continue my reporting and hope that Anet doesn't punish those trying to do the right thing and as you say, move on. Though I am disappointed the community express a tinge of dislike for those reporting such things and I can only assume its because some practice this themselves.
  7. He/she is never there. Never. Now here I thought total AFK farming was not allowed? Here's me, MUG, running around farming in the same vicinity, legitimately, and this one clown can just leave his ranger there with a jacaranda, spewing lightning bolts 24 hours a day. It doesn't matter if it's an inefficient method of farming but it's AFK farming nonetheless. I'm getting the impression that my reporting is going to be considered hassle and be dubbed abuse of the report system, even though I am using it for genuine purposes and with the best intentions. There needs to be a blanket statement that addresses farming in general, all types of it. If AFK farming (I've looked at previous posts and apparently it is) is against the rules, then enforce it. As I said, this one chump has been in the same place for DAYS. I got to this place with my Necro (yes I'm a mug, I run around with minions not AFK farming) and I was like "how is this guy STILL HERE!?". This reminded me of my earlier complaints regarding other idle farmers, some probably botting and multi-boxers, some of which are fine some that are not. Now multi-boxing doesn't appear to be against the rules, but isn't that an abuse of the system? It takes up server space, people use free accounts to abuse the system and because they're half paying attention to a single account, the remaining 4-5-6-7 accounts they have running farming are, technically idle, but that's not against the rules because it's considered multi-boxing? That doesn't make sense to me. The rules are skewed. That brings me to the genuine AFK farmers (and potential botters) who sit on the exact same spot among a sea of other players, minions, turrets, pickup items, in tight formation, who are so blended in it's nigh impossible to see their names or report them. Am I, in doing what I think is right, going to put my account at risk flagging people who are either bending the rules or outright breaking them? My intentions are only ever honest. I know some farming methods are fine, assuming someone is still at their computer, but sooo many people clearly are NOT at their systems, or sit among a sea of multi-boxers so you can't tell who is who and what account belongs to which (hence mass reporting - which isn't intended to abuse the report feature). There needs to be more clarity. Why am I following rules if those who frequently bend/break them can go unchecked?
  8. We all know this game suffers from visual clutter in massive fights, so as much as I would like to extend my appreciation to those working on tweaks for the game (some which have been massively overdue), I'm really hoping that sometime in the near future Anet can allow us to customise our cursors so that it can be seen during the visual assault on our eyeballs. Just like to ask, did GW2 have any updates to its sound engine? Just wondering because unless over the last 2 PC builds I've had I've buggered up my sound in only one game, GW2 audio seems to sound significantly more detailed. I have been away from GW2 for like 4 months until just recently so perhaps I'm missing something? Enjoy GW2 during quarantine. :) Stay healthy!
  9. good thing you get several slots for free. Like bag slots or bank slots. You need more? you pay for it. And paying for it keeps the servers running. Lol... You mean 250 mat storage and two tiny bank tabs? A lot of crafting requires a stack of materials. and that is your choice. You could sell everything above 250 and then buy it back when needed. Or do not craft, but go with the stuff you find/earn. But you want to craft. And you want a big pile of mats. So your choice, your decision.No. It's not a big pile of mats if so many recipes require so many materials. It is obviously designed in a way to maximise the number of people buying extra slots as a necessity. Point being, the base storage quantity relative to the reicpies is tiny. If you expect people to clog their base default inventory size with mats, that's just ludicrous since the game purposely clutters inventory space to encourage bag slot purchases and if you have to store them in bank, the same applies. I'm not complaining, I'm just pointing out that every single aspect of the game requires purchases because they've been designed to hinder everyone and I feel that even though ANet need to make money for certain things, they shouldn't apply it to absolutely everything and massively inconvenience players to the point where things become ab irritating hindrance. Speaking of which, massively expensive permanent tools that don't share slots and still require swapping between characters via bank or, encouraging you to buy ludicrously expensive shared slots. Even then, you still have to swap them because not all characters can use them. Of course, ANet would love if everyone spent several hundred pounds on a mass of unbreakable tools for each character, but fortunately not everyone is that stupid or that desperate.
  10. It's how GW2 players have been conditioned over the years. Admitting that is something most can't accept.

  12. Sorry but it should be free. The fact GW1 had this and GW2 hasn't for over 7 years is first of all, totally unacceptable. Secondly, much of the content in the game has taken forever to come through while a lot of us have spent money on expansions and account upgrades and skins. Now I know, I know, ANet need to make money, but monetising every single thing that they neglected to put in is not at all fair and only shows how negative a buy once play free system can be. Of course, a bunch of slots in their entirety should be free, and additional ones purchasable.
  13. Well something is going on on your end. What I just suggested was my solution when I experienced the exact same thing you are right now. Go to your ad blocker and whitelist: account.arena.net The ad blockers are off. I've used 3 different browsers, two of which don't have any ad blockers (or any other extensions) installed (therefore no whitelist). I'll look into it more to see if there's anything else on a PC that would block a page. Anet changed something and it's getting flagged and blocked by something. For me, on my phone, it was an ad blocker. I think many years ago people had similar issues and that's because the link had so many redirects.Interesting. Ye, I've tried everything I can think of. It's weird because it's three prominent browsers. When this problem first cropped up, I hadn't changed anything on my PC or Network, it just didn't work one day. I'll keep trying.

  15. Cookies and trackers are allowed. Ayrilana, I have already stated that content blockers are off. Please don't read the title of a thread, not read its contents and just assume that people are doing things wrong.
  16. This is very odd. For a few months now I have been unable to login to this discussion website or the GW2 Account page on my PC. After entering my credentials on the login page it either doesn't navigate there and returns a blank white page or I get a confused face with "invalid session: permission problem". Suspicious? Things I have tried: Microsoft EdgeGoogle ChromeFirefoxDisabling all add-ons and blockersClearing cacheClearing DNS cacheResetting modem and router.Ensured Windows is up to date.Disabling Antivirus.Disabling Firewall. Works on other computers and my smartphone which I am using now, all connected to the same network. That rules out IP banning. Now the only thing I can think of is that somehow, mistakenly or otherwise, I have been blocked based on hardware ID, like the MAC address. I'm not accusing anybody and there's likely another reason for all of this but all the evidence points towards some sort of block. I do not use 2 Factor Authentication for login on the website. I am yet to try a VPN on the PC that is having access issues to this website. That is my next step and I will report back. Just to note, prior to this, I've had no access issues on the same machine at any other time on the GW2 Discussions and Account pages and that separately, I have never had an issue logging into GW2 itself.
  17. I also don't see any appeal with those voting options. We all know we need only one more mount and that's one that makes underwater travel much faster. They don't even need to make a new mount, just rework the Skimmer to dive under water with a special skill. Edit: yeah, not cool that you didn't provide a "None" vote option.
  18. As much as the crafting interface needs overhauling, I'd rather ANet dedicated time to optimisations and bug fixes for the core game. It's doable. They can hire someone for optimisations. They can hire more for bug fixes. As it stands, there is only one person working on bug fixes, on a game this size! No wonder core game maps in Tyria are riddled with bugs. In other words, there's more important things that need addressing first before an interface overhaul.
  19. It's pretty evident that they are but because you can't hack their webcam and prove they're not sitting there, nobody takes notice. There are solo players casting skills all of the time whether there are enemies there or not, on small ledges or one prominent ledge where there are a group of people are, usually with one person overlooking the group to give grief to anyone who calls them out. I've reported about 8 people for botting in about 15 minutes ago. Recorded some too. I am not abusing the report system, so I'll be sure to keep whatever footage I record. Modri Caverns is a hotspot and all it takes is one sly Anet employee to go take a look and see. If you keep turning a blind eye to this you may as well just remove the botting report option. Edit: Just saw a guy with 3 accounts (all starting with the same name before the account number). I find it highly doubtful that one person can run skills on three separate machines without difficulty at a very obvious botting point in Modri Caverns. He was talking on one account, not the others and claimed "it's not breaking the rules" to having 3 accounts... no it isn't, but it is when 2 of those accounts are actively botting. There was also a whole bunch of other people there afk, farming away.
  20. OP did mention he/she bought said recipe several times already and consumed it (incl getting message the recipe is already owned) Which makes me believe the crafting popup of said professions has a tickbox checked or unchecked that thereby hides said recipes in the interface. So OP has the recipe in the interface but has just accidently hidden it via checkboxes. Nah it was definitely that I had to buy the recipe from TP. When I realised I could, I bought Ruka's Warhammer, Bastion and Artifact. Crafted Artifact immediately afterwards. :) Now I just need to make le staff and I'm all good. :)
  21. O... my... lawdd... I swear I looked at TP a while ago but didn't see Bastion (I changed my mind since), but low and behold Bastion is there along with Artifact. I shall now go bang my head against a wall for a few minutes. Thank you for pointing out the obvious. That being said, I did kinda expect knowing the Dragon's Stand recipe to allow me to craft the Artifact. Confusing stuff.
  22. Aww man... wtf. I was under the impression that all recipe unlocks were account bound and usable by any character with the proper crafting discipline. Please tell me this isn't true for all recipes? There are a few reasons why crafting can seem confusing, but this recipe thing isn't explained anywhere (even on the wiki). I've been playing the game on and off for over 4 years and this is the first I have ever heard of this. That being said I'm pretty certain that I consumed the recipe with my main who is the one trying to craft it. But also, I recently bought Ruka's inscription again in Dragon's Stand with my remaining map currency and it still claims "you already know this recipe".
  23. I've got every single Ruka's recipe from Dragon's Stand. I have a Spiritwood focus casing and core. I have a vision crystal. Yet, I cannot craft what I want even though I know the recipe. I want to make Ruka's Artifact but it won't show up in the list of known recipes at the crafting table. I am Artificer 500. I have the same issue with Weaponsmith and trying to create Ruka's Bastion. I've asked for help in the game but nobody knows. I have plenty of inventory space, the necessary discipline, level, materials, etc. What am I overlooking? I've actually wasted time rebuying the recipes in the off chance is bugged out. I had no issue making Ruka's Flanged Mace. The crafting recipe doesn't actually appear in the name list of Foci in the Artificer station, even though I have already consumed said recipes. Any ideas?
  24. Just no. I've already paid for GW2 and both expansions, a load of gems and account upgrades. Classic wouldn't be free as it's require work and as a result, I wouldn't touch it even if they were selling it for £20.
  25. Yes, the game needs to stay alive but the point initially was buy it once, get content. Now it's just a skin buying F2P game that has all of the negative aspects of a MT-based F2P title and undermines those who put tons of effort into earning cosmetics. I've put a lot of money into the game but there comes a point where it has to stop on my end. I don't solely play GW2 so I don't feel like dropping cash on gems all the time for skins that totally make in-game content look like utter garbage meanwhile all the half decent looking stuff that can be earned in-game cost an absolute fortune in gold or in time (usually both). I understand people love this game and I enjoy it very much myself, mainly for the events in the maps (not particularly meta events). So yes, there is such thing as spending too much real life money in the game. People's love for the game doesn't dictate other peoples opinions on how they should or should not spend their money. And also, using money they've gotten from players to make skins (tat) that are sold back to them at ridiculous cost allows them to just keep the cycle ticking over for a narrow band of people, all the while those not willing to put in any money get naff in-game cosmetics. If we're paying for skins and other nonsense for actual content creation, where is it? All I'm seeing is an endless stream of gem store utilities/trinkets and skins. Why isn't some of this adding content for everyone, paying or not? An expansion or a new season shouldn't mean that new weapons and armour skins aren't added elsewhere save for those few select places. There's a serious lack of new armours and weapons in-game considering the amount of time that has elapsed (save for Mist Shard, which I was very surprised to see didn't require Everest levels of grind to unlock). As someone who drops a reasonable amount into the game, I'd be more happy having more content available to everyone, paying or not and not put behind a monumental grind wall. Every single aspect of in-game items has an excessive grind. I'm all for grind, we should all work for our rewards, but why must absolutely every item, every quest, every speck have to follow the same plan? Yes, skins and account upgrades do pay for all this stuff but a ton of effort is wasted on creating more skins, with a huge amount of those being solely Black Lion (fake RNG - skewed %) morally devoid loot boxes. I've bought quite a few skins, keys, mounts, account upgrades and after I buy some Skyscale skins (because I have zero yet due to the tedious grind of unlocking yet another mount) I'm not buying anything else for at least another year. Why? I've spent a small fortunate already. Now whatever comprises a small fortune for you or anybody else is obviously subjective but I feel like I've already spent enough and in doing so I have to make do with, frankly, poor in-game cosmetic content (with all the decent stuff hidden behind a huge wall), a gazillion bugs that have never been fixed in the core content of the game, slow content updates and the constant nerfing of unidentified bag drops and ecto to prevent farming and encourage people to migrate to newer maps. People shouldn't feel bad if they are happy to spend money on the game and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but those who say they feel they have a problem spending too much on the game obviously have an underlying worry about doing so and it likely stems from the fact that underneath, they feel uneasy dumping huge amounts of money into the game when it hasn't really changed much over the years. It's a gold sink and a time sink with charm and it's that charm that keeps me playing. That and the awesome xVx guild I joined a few months back. Final note: I've been thinking for a few years actually about how I feel that the sheer amount of variety, game modes, mechanics and such, has made the game so complicated and time consuming for developers to get ahold on and design new content for that they can't possibly please every person in every aspect of the game, whether that be Open World / PVE, Fractals, Dungeons, PvP or WvW. This makes people angry and people leave.
