  1. The bias part was in general, not specific to your example, you are more biased to remember the times when you got outnumbered/ganked than the other way around...   2. You just described every roaming guild my dude. There are no innocent angels, literally everyone does what you described. And for a moment think about it : you are having some fights, your guildie/friend logs in and joins on the fun. Are you supposed to tell them to fk off just because of the "honor" of roaming? When 9.9 times out of 10 the enemy won't do the same for you... at the end of the day the strength of your community and bonds with friends is all that matters, we are all here to have fun and share experiences, if you keep getting outnumbered and outganked just swallow your pride and look for fights elsewhere one more thing: human brains are biased - you are much more likely to remember/notice being outnumbered than the other way around

  5. There is a HUGE difference between being having to Shoot > About Face > Run, and just straight up not even have to face your target. That is what i meant by my comment
  6. The ele pistol is by far the most garbage weapon they have released so far. They took 0 of the feedback given during the beta. It is simply a 10 times worse version of the scepter. Overcomplicated bullet mechanic, low amount of combo finishers, absolutely putrid damage in WvW ( both power and condi ) , completely and absolutely countered by reflects and projectile destruction effects ( other ranged classes have similar issues but atleast they can swap to a 2nd weapon ). The fact that the scepter allows you to kite much more effectively by being able to cast spells behind your back, while for absolutely every pistol spell you need to be facing your opponent. Also for some reason they decided to do a *condi* weapon...ALL ele weapons are hybrid dmg , they always have been, they can be used for power and condi builds...not anymore! You will do kitten all power dmg on the pistol and be happy with it. The pistol should've been an offhand weapon. Ele offhand needs variety. Ele needs an offensive 900-1200 offhand weapon. Or a 1200 range two hander would've been cool...
  7. Many skill tooltips are bugged. Also it is impossible to create an arena from decorations , as they completely bug out shadowstep skills , LoS, and port skills like thief rifle 4. Decors break pathing on steal and shadowsteps, shiro engages.. The only decors that don't completely break these skills are the arena obstacles. Which ( guess what? ) can only be used in the arena. ALSO normal decors require a special way of glitching them in the arena to even be placed there. And you can't really place them as they need to be floating in the air for that, which introduces a whole set of other bugs. Basically if you want to fight your friends and want to create your own custom arena that doesn't break 50% of the skills in the game, just stick to private PvP arenas. Me and my guildies basically spent 60+ hours trying to develop a custom arena, we scratched many cool custom arena designs simply because so many skills were bugging out. At the end we settled for the GH arena with some added in arena obstacles and glitched in decors ( which still has some bugs that we will just have to live with) It's such a kittening headache it's not even worth it... Oh also the decoration placing system is complete trash. Oh also the Guild Hall decides to randomly create new instances. Like listen, I was super hyped for this update. But looking at it now its completely unusable and only really worth it for some funny fights with friends where you wouldn't care about LoS , dripping out of combat, bugs...

  9. Hot take. 🔥 If anet removed all boon duration from wvw ( relics runes stats traits) the game will be in a much more healthy state. Some classes will still have a ton of boons but that can be easily adjusted later. What do roamers hate? Perma boon cele tanks. What do zergers hate? Boon blobs. Just remove boon duration, make the use of boons matter rather than just having them up all the time. You can still have hybrid builds, you can still have tanky builds. But having an insane boon uptime when boons are as strong and impactful as they are just makes everything 10000 times worse.
  10. Honestly dude, i used to hold a very similar opinion.. I used to think the reason ANET doesn't make any effort to balance/adjust small scale fights is because the overall majority of people engage with WvW by zerging, and hence they only worry about zerg meta, and most if not all changes in WvW are usually aimed at large scale fights where people run meta builds, and there is a clear structure to the squad with people covering boons/cleanses/strips/damage/heals etc... But the truth is that the people who run meta builds and organized squads in voice are not the majority of players in WvW... And most of total gameplay during single 1 week matchup in WvW is not zerging with meta builds either... Sure, they can have a 50 man squad and at first glance it looks massive, but most servers ( at least in EU ) have 2, maybe 3 commanders on the very very stacked links, who can pull off numbers like this spread on different maps...aaand server/link active WvW players are usually much more than that. Just think about how often those commanders have issues moving their squads to other maps, because of a queue. That queue is usually not generated by a friendly squad of 50 players on that map, but its usually cloud/pugs/roamers who take up the majority of slots on a map. The majority of players in wvw either run around alone ( cause they are pugs/pvers ) and flip camps/dolyaks for that sweet sweet participation, or they join open tags which in 90% of cases dont require any sort of meta builds because they usually aim at PPTing / clouding .. Those people , like it or not, can be considered roamers.. or are the very least are engaging in gameplay that can be considered roaming.. Yes they arent running a roaming build and repping a roaming guild, and they wont siege and BM you to no end if you dare /laugh at them..But they arent zerging with meta builds either. Most of what happens in WvW falls under those circumstances - smaller fights around camps/sentries/shrines/around SMC/towers.. If you are a dedicated WvW player and you play the game mode for multiple hours a day everyday, you will notice that most of the gameplay that happens is not revolved around the gameplay that anet balances the game around.
  11. Although I don't agree with 100% of what OP says ( cause he's new and lacks experience/ knowledge ) it is also soooooo sad that a new player like OP has a better understanding of the gamemode than 50% of wvw players.
  12. Anet doesn't care. If anet cared they would fix it or give warnings/ban to people who exploit. Pls note its an exploit, not a hack. Exploit means it's a bug in the game that anyone can do if they know how, no 3rd party app involved . It's as much of an exploit as any other "new patch makes X skill/trait broken which people abuse until said skill/trait gets disabled " with the only difference that this bug has been around since the maps came out I believe...imagine how many years anet have received reports screenshot videos.... they really don't care about it.

The servers that we won against in order to stay in t3 were weaker than us during prime time and didn't have a night crew to flip the map...also chances are their map was flipped by the 3rd ( usually German server ) that did have a night crew. I'm not gonna lie, when we are active wsr is strong. But when we get matched against ppt machines we can't keep up due to nonexistent players during the night/ early hours. My whole rant was that wsr is considered full despite that fact that we have pretty much no people during night/ early hours..and that servers that have 24/7 activity are not full... During prime on wsr you will see a 20 to 40 queue on ebg, and at most a 10 queue on an alpine border...compare that to the massive queues some other links have AND them having night crews... it just doesn't make sense really
  14. WSR no link again :))) Im not sure what anet does to determine player activity and server population? WSR is only active during prime time, any other time we are outnumbered 10 to 1. Our k/d might be high, but that doesnt mean anything in regards to winning our MU and moving up the ladder. We get out PPT-ed by night crews and early morning people, because we simply dont have people to fill those voids . Literally login on WSR after 12pm and you will see 5 people in EBG on our side, while enemies have 50+ zergs flipping everything unopposed... idk how super stacked servers like FoW and RoS continue to get links ... idk how german blob servers like abbadon / drakkar / riverside keep getting links... During the last 3 weeks we kept having to fight german servers as we went down the tiers due to lack of PPT, they literally have coverage 24/7 Literally login at 3 AM and you will see a 40 man german zerg flipping the map... How is this not considered high activity? It doesnt matter how much we farm them during prime, we just get out-PPTed during the night/morning. And then a slow decent to t5...
  15. The problem is that now more than ever people roam with condi kitten builds because of the nerf to antitoxin. In the past this wasnt that big of an issue since you could invest into antitoxin rune for double cleanses while trading out some of your damage. With the new relic system, this was basically nerfed ( 5 sec ICD ) pretty hard, so much so that condi tank builds became more popular. ( dagger mirage / condi zerker are the new additions to the condi type builds you will face in roaming ) And now with this change to 10 second CD its just laughable. I have no problems with condi builds, or tanky builds but even before the expac the balance in popularity between power/cele builds in roaming was tilted towards cele, and with these changes it will go towards cele even more.

Otherwise Cleansing/Torment is nice
  17. Honestly I don't necessarily agree. However it is pretty obvious that it's nowhere near as absurd as cele willy harbi cata . But that's just because those classes are overloaded with power...
  18. Seems like there are a few posts about ele, so heres a recent video i made and some thoughts on ele in WvW.. In regards to how busted catalyst is, just nerf burning formula ( its the most busted condition in the game, you can be full power and have 10-25 stacks of might and you can apply 2k burning ticks easily with fire rotation, same applies for willbenders or renegades ), and remove concentration from celestial gear, also maybe put a 1 or 2 second cooldown on the trait that gives you auras on combo finisher - aura spam is super unfun to play against. The overabundance of boons in the catalyst traits is also what makes it super strong, you no longer feel forced to go for arcane traitline since all ur spheres give the same boons pretty much and they are always available. You are free to go fire/air or god forbid fire/earth signet GM without losing much boons. And if you do choose to go arcane, well then you have perma boons forever... Although the signet GM rework is interesting for core ele and weaver, as it provides auras you usually might not get the chance to have - aura interactions with catalyst and tempest because of their respective GM traits ( heal on aura / stab on aura ) make the new signet GM trait just absolutely insane and should be adjusted appropriately. All in all overabundance of boons are an issue that plagues smallscale fights alot and catalyst although being one of the worst offenders is not the only one.. Removing concentration from certain gear pieces and nerfing boon duration on runes will probably go a long way to making fights less bunkery while not having to rework the entire game
  19. Focus is just too good man... Dagger is inarguably much more fun to use...But when you get jumped by 4 people and the only thing that can save you is focus you kind of have a choice to make... With latest patch aNet seem to want to buff dagger, which is cool...But they need to nerf focus to really be able to equalize them.
  20. Well....idk about meh. But just not the best at kiting..hammer plus magnetic shield is quite capable for roaming.
  21. If you mean celestial fire hammer cata yeah...its quite strong. But imho classes that rip boons easy do well against it. Imho cele scepter cata is better than hammer, since then you at least have solid range and kite. And scepter fire 1 autos are just insane. As for harb it just bodies anything that doesn't have good cleanse options. Unless you can one-shot them their blight sustain is just insane, especially if they play death magic. But luckily they are kiteable, unlike willbender . Honestly burning needs to be nerfed. In my video I'm full mara pack runes and 3 celestial pieces and I often get like 2k burn ticks after my fire burst.
  22. Hiya! made another one of these.. Despite the nerfs scepter still feels in a good spot, just hoping anet leave it alone at this point and maybe focus on bigger offenders like wb/harbi How do you guys feel about current roaming balance?
